JiHyo POV:

Smiling, I packed my bag and left class. It was lunchtime yet no one I knew was around. We had agreed to meet at the canteen during lunchtime everyday. However, as I sat at our usual spot, no one came over. Suddenly, I saw Eun Hye and Jong Kook running over to me. I happily waved to them until they ran over. Panting, they stopped to catch their breath, stammering some words.

"Gary.... He...hu... Fell.... go....hu....find him....!" I could only make up those rough words but could not grasp the full situation. 

"GARY! HE FELL AND IS INJURED VERY BADLY! GO SEE HIM! HE IS AT THE PARADE SQUARE!" Jong Kook finally told me. Without even paying attention to my wound, I grabbed my bag and sprinted at full speed to the parade square. As I entered the parade square, my heart beat so fast I thought that it was going to come out. However, the biggest irony happened in my life. Instead of an injured Gary and a crowd, there was a big stage and Gary was standing on it. I stood there, frozen for awhile. I then stepped closer to try to scan for any injury on Gary. However, I realised that there was nothing. Suddenly, music started playing and Gary was holding a mic and he sang. 

"When I heard your greeting asking how I was doing

And I asked myself for a long time if this was really the you that I’ve known for so long

I was happy to hear your voice for the first time in a year
When you said you missed me, tears kept falling

Every line, every word, every beat sank right into my heart. I was trying to understand the situation. Once the song had ended, he came up to me and very gently said. 

"I am sorry for having to shock you and scaring you. However, I promise you, you will never be scared again because I will be there to protect you. I will be there to help you when you are sick, when you are hurt, when you are sad. I will be your punch bag, your pillow, your shoulder to cry on and your guardian angel. Ji Hyo, will you please be my girlfriend? I will make you the happiest girl for as long as my love burns for you. Please be my girlfriend!" He looked right into my eyes, eyes burning with confidence but fear as well. 

I stepped closer to him, held his hands up. 

"I don't need you to be my anything. I don't need anything from you..." I looked up at him and saw the look for confidence disappear and to be replaced with sadness and rejection. 

"However, I need you to be my heart because without you, I cannot function." He then smiled from ear to ear. That was the biggest I have seen him smile. He then let go of my hand and hugged me. I wrapped my hand around his firm body and grabbed his shirt. He then used his strength and swung me around while hugging me. I vaguely heard people cheering around, Eun Hye screaming my name and others clapping loudly. However, what I could hear so clearly was Gary, swinging me around, whispering softly into my ears.

"Thank you!" 

The day went on far from normal. Everywhere we went, people clapped for us. Some guys gave Gary the evil eye but he couldn't care less. The moment we were together, we held hands while walking, while in lesson and everywhere. He had not stopped smiling since I accpeted him. Finally, the day ended and we naturally made our way to JGS(JiHyoGarySanctuary). As soon as he closed the door behind him, I couldn't help but go right into his arms. He made me feel so special and taken care of. He took care of my wound so carefully and did so much for me. 

"Why? What's wrong? We are not even 24 hours officially a couple and yet we are having so much skinship already!" He jokingly said as he rubbed my back like a father. 

"I don't know. I just like it!" I giggled and hugged him. 

"You seem a little desperate don't you?" He laughed. 

I pulled away and sat down on the sofa. "Please... who is the desperate one? The one who made the confession such a big affair?" 

Gary sighed and finally admitted defeat,"Yeah! I was so desperate and going crazy worrying about you that I had to do it or go nuts!" 

I laughed and smiled, glad that I meant so much to someone. 

"Anyways, how did you do it?" I asked him, curious about things.

"I was confronted by Eun Hye in the morning after sending you to school. When you went off with Joong Ki, she came up and talked to me!" 

"What did she ask you? What?!" I was shocked by the fact that Eun Hye approached Gary.

"She asked me what I felt. She was so serious and persistent I just told her that I like you and that I was worried for you all the time!" He blushed and looked down.

"Then? The stage and all?" I probed further.

"Joong Ki managed to get his friends to shift the stage from the drama room to the parade square. The song... I had prepared it for a long time, hoping that when the time was right I could sing it to you and confess to you!" He was so embarrassed, he took a cushion and covered his face, screaming into the cushion.

"Hahaha! It's okay, don't shy!" I then played with him and tried to get the cushion off. We then played in the room for awhile. We did some homework together and left together. On the way home, he held my hand so tight like I was going to run off. However, I liked it as I felt safe and assured. He walked me all the way to my home although we lived so far from each other. He made sure that I was in my room before leaving the gate of the house. As he left and waved bye, I couldn't help but feel so glad and happy. I felt blessed and lucky already. He was sweet, caring and obviously, mature. He moved me and unknowingly, we were in a relationship... A relationship that was going to take us through the ups and downs of our youths...
