Finding Lee Jaehwan

Description

In Busan, South Korea, in 1916, a lavish ball is held to celebrate 300 years of the rulling of the Lee family. Attending the event is King Seulong, along with his son, Hyunwoo, who was the leader of Changwon at the time. At the event, Seulong is happy to see his grandson, Lee Jaehwan, who is sad that Seulong will be going to Beijing, China. Seulong has chosen to give Jaehwan a story book as a gift, which holds all of the magical tales that Seulong told him through the previous years. The key to unlock the thick book was connected on a simple vracelet that simply contained a picture of the Lee family all together.

The mood of the party is soon silenced as Taegoon enters, claiming to be Hyunwoo's "confidant." Hyunwoo instead brands Taegoon as a traitor, and orders him out of the Palace. Angered at Hyunwoo, Taegoon claims that he and his family will be dead within the fortnight, and vows to not rest until the rest of the Lee family will be banished forever.

Foreword

Seulong sighed as he breathed in the remarkable view in front of him. Joyful young men and women were dancing merrily all over the polished dance floor of the grand palace. It was 300 years since the Lee family took over Busan, and just his luck, he's the current king of this lovely city.

He sank further into his throne as he adjusted his crown, for it was threatening to fall any moment. He ran his hand through his brown locks and sighed. He was just about to hesitatingly stand up and greet all the fancy people, but he saw his cute 6-year-old grandson running towards him with wide arms. He just chuckled and picked up the cute little boy and spun him around.

"How's my little Jaehwan doing, huh?"

He kissed his grandson on the forehead and settled him down on his lap. He tousled his grandson's brown locks as he swatted his tiny arms on his face. He scrunched up his nose and chuckled at the face of the king. He was leaving his grandson again, for he needed to do business in a nearby town.

"Grandpa! Don't leave little Hwannie alone~"

He held his tiny arms around his long neck and just hugged him as tight as he can. Seulong just sighed and sat the little kid down. He brought out the big, thick book from under his shiny throne and brushed the murky dust away from it. He knew that this departure will be hard on both of them, so he prepared something to make it easier for both of them.

"Now, Jaehwan, I know that this will be hard for both of us, so I prepared something to make this easier, ok?"

He delicately handed the thick book to the little boy who looked at it with awe. The book was blue and it had a big lock that held it closed.

"Now, Jaehwan, take good care of that, ok?"

He almost forgot, the key to unlock the mysterious book. It was the book that held a million memories for both of them. This is where the king got the enchanting stories that he read to Jaehwan every evening. He carried this book everywhere, it was very dear to him. But now, he was giving it to his lovable grandson, Jaehwan. This book held wonderful mysteries, stories waited to be unfolded and told to everyone. He gave the quaint bracelet to Jaehwan and enclosed it in his tiny hands.

"Now, only you can open this Jaehwan, ok?"

He kissed his hand and wiped the tears falling from the little boy's eyes.

"B..but will Hwannie ever see grandpa ever again?"

His full lips were pulled into a pout and and his eyes were glossy and red. The king hated seeing his grandson like this.

"Of course, Jaehwan! Just don't forget about grandpa, ok?"

He tousled his brown locks and kissed his grandson. He immediately grinned and nodded eagerly.

"Hwannie will never forget grandpa!"

He kissed the king on his cheek and hugged his torso ever-so-gently. The king just sighed and his eyes were threatening to drop tears of his own. He just the expanse of the young child's back and placed his head on top of his. His son, Hongwoon, just smiled at the two of them. Jaehwan was a child that was not taken care of much by his dad. His mother died when he was just 2 years old and his dad was always busy planning strategies for future wars.

He was about to tell something to Jaehwan, when the entire palace shook violently and green, murky mist surrounded the frightened people inside the luxurious interior of the palace. A figure formed from the mist, and his slow steps were echoing around the wide hall. Taegoon. His scepter was full of scaly, green snakes and venomous cobras. They were hissing at the people and the women screamed and ran to the opposite side of the hall.

"Hyunwoo, my comrade!"

He smiled evilly at the latter and held out his big, pale hand.

"You forgot to give me an invitation to your prissy ball over here!"

He faked sadness and just grinned wider at the latter. He hit the marble floor with his scepter, and every window was barred with green chains of different sorts. Everybody shrieked and just screamed helplessly as they did different kinds of crazy methods, just to try to break these borders. But it was no use. Hyunwoo glared at Taegoon with disgust and hatred as he stepped forward without fear.

"I am not your comrade, Taegoon. You are a traitor, a disgust, a pest, to our family!"

He drew out his silver sword and just pointed its tip to the latter's long neck. Taegoon just chuckled and stared at Jaehwan.

"Oh, is there a kid over here?"

He waved his scepter in front of Hyunwoo, and he was sent flying across the gigantic hall. Green chains were holding him close to the wall, and he just hissed in pain, for the chains were burning his pale skin.

"DAD!"

Jaehwan screamed and broke free from his grandfather's arms.

"Don't. Move. Young child."

He pointed his scepter at him and just smirked at Hyunwoo,

"Don't you dare touch my son!"

He struggled against the poisonous barriers as he screamed in agony as Taegoon just tightened the chains around his wrists and limbs. He was panting heavily as he glared at the latter with built-up anger over the past 4 years. Taegoon betrayed the Lee family and dragged them down with him as he took over Busan.

Jaehwan was sobbing and he just stared helplessly at his agonized father. Before Taegoon can cause further damage, the guards subdued him and tackled him to the floor. He shrieked and just spat at the infamous guards as they tackled him to the cold marble slabs of the palace. Taegoon pointed his scepter at the king's throne, and fire immediately blew up beside it.

"Jaehwan, run!"

His father shouted miserably at his son as he was enveloped by of burning tongues of fire and just screamed in agony as his skin was being burnt by the harsh fire.

"Dad!"

Jaehwan just screamed and cried in terror and agony as he slowly watched his beloved father die. He was traumatized as a guard just carried him away from all the commotion. Jaehwan just reached out his tiny hand as his father turned into black ash in front of him.

"Appa..."

The guard just handed him to his grandfather as a boy that was about his age opened the creaky door to the dusty emergency passageway. He looked troubled and his shaggy black hair just fell over his chinky eyes. He had pale skin and he just stared at the latter. He was about to speak to the mysterious boy, but then his grandfather forcefully pulled him away and down the dark passageway.

He was just being carried away lifelessly as he stared into the nothingness that was once a grand palace. They finally reached the end of the long stairwell as Jaehwan felt the cold wind brush along his face. They were going to the train station, he knew it since the beginning. His grandfather boarded the train without him for he accidentally let him go. Jaehwan was struggling to catch up with the speeding up train as his grandfather was reaching out his hand.

"Jaehwan!"

Jaehwan was reaching for his father's hand, but something hard hit him on the back of his head and knocked him down due to the impact. He fell between the tracks and most likely fractured his precious skill. His grandfather sobbed with agony as his voice cracked with the chugging of the train was heard as he went further away from his loving grandson, Jaehwan.

Well, so, this is Ken as a top, or Leo? 'Cause I prefer Ken x Leo much more than Leo x Keo.
