Luhan is not happy to receive a present from an anonymous sender. It’s a neatly wrapped parcel, shapeless and tied with a gold ribbon. A single card bearing “Merry Christmas” message. Luhan opens it to reveal…

A new blanket. 

A soft, new blanket.

A non-itchy, soft, new blanket. 

It’s red. 

He blinks, and when his legs couldn’t take it, he sat down in the middle of his kitchen, staring hard at the blanket. Cotton? Wool? What is that? It's really nice and he wants to walk around the house with nothing but that blanket on him. Luhan is hardly well-versed in the world of materials. 

Zhang Yixing… Only Zhang Yixing would. A few moments later, his phone rings. 

Luhan: (Presses a button to answer the call) Hello? Is this Yixing?

Yixing: Merry Christmas! Hope you like the present. 

Luhan can almost see the smile and the crinkled, friendly eyes at the back of his mind, and it disturbs him. A crackle of static tickles his ear. 

Luhan: Merry Christmas. I do. (Long pause in which Luhan tries to pick off a loose thread) Zhang Yixing… 

Luhan hears Yixing falling off from somewhere. A thump and an ‘ow’ later, he huffs back into the earpiece. 

Yixing: Sorry. Yes? (sounding out of breath and Luhan flops on the floor)

Luhan: Can you come to the exhibit with me? (Suddenly Luhan loses the ferocity and the walls he built. He shrinks a little, and buries his face in his hands.) 

Yixing: Sure! Why not? I’m looking forward to it? When is it?

Luhan: Later… (He starts squeaking. Luhan doesn't recognized himself anymore. If anything, he feel disgustingly bold.) 

Yixing: Oh… Be right there! (Luhan flinches at his enthusiasm)

Luhan hears the phone ‘click’ and he groans into his new blanket. It smells nice… Like soft-roasted marshmellow, and sparkly vanilla with a touch of Zhang Yixing.
