The Mad Hatter
Moderato
Mad as a hatter... a colloquial phrase used in conversation to refer to a crazy person. My mother used to use that phrase when I was very young. Whenever my father would come home all drunk again, my mother would whisper to my ear, “Your father is mad as a hatter.. Go to your room now.” After she tells me this, I would rush to my room, close my eyes, cover my ears, and sing my favorite song. That’s the only thing I’m supposed to do in order not to hear my mother’s cries and my father’s shouting...
My father... is a crazy person. A mad person. Mad as a hatter. I don’t even understand why my mother married him if he behaves like that. My mother... a beautiful girl with a gentle personality gets abused every night by my alcoholic father.
Does my mother even deserve to be treated like this?
I don’t even know anymore...
I thought people who are “mad ” are considered bad people. But... I met a guy... who’s obviously mad. Alcholic, heartless, selfish, greedy, and a -addict. He’s despised by guys but is adored by girls. I feel disgusted whenever he’s around but somehow... I feel attached to him. As if, there’s something about him that I like but I can’t seem to find that thing I like.
And besides, I owe him. He saved my life.
