AN (Author Notes) are a great tool for letting your audience know what's going on, why you had go absent, and stuffs. But some authors abused this tool. 

They wrote 400 words of chapter and put a damn long paragraph why they couldn't update for a past week. 

Some readers don't care about author note. They just want to read the story. 

There are some author who put A/N in the middle of story. It ruins the flow of the story and it's not necessary.

Some authors put replies for the comments under the A/N section when there is a reply button for each comments. 

Make your Author Note short, sweet, interesting, and simple.
