Chapter Three
멈춰 있던 나를 깨워줘 | Waking up would stop me"Hye Jin!" A voice boomed through the hallways as the head lady of the adoption home desperately searched the home for the missing girl. In the week the head has gotten to know her, she was already causing too much trouble and worry with her never ending curiosity. If the girl was found outside the adoption home and hospital grounds, she could be hurt, if not scared out of her mind.
"Hye Jin!" She desperately called out once again.
"Miss Lee," One of the other children in the house hid behind the corner turn of the hallway, "Hye Jin eonni1 went outside with Woohyun oppa2."
"Outside?" She calmed a bit, before asking. She still couldn't stop herself from worrying, "Where outside?"
"In the garden area," The young girl pointed out of the window that over looked the garden, "Woohyun oppa knows how much eonni loves the garden. But you don't let her go out much, so he thought he'd take her."
"Such an adorable boy," Miss Lee mumbled with a relieved sigh, if Hye Jin is outside, at least she has Woohyun to watch over her, even if he wasn't the best child; with this, he wasn't causing trouble and didn't have to be watched over. "Come on," Miss Lee took the hand of the small girl and gave her a gentle smile, "Let's go bring you back to the others. You should try to at least make new friends."
"Hye Jin, look at this!" Woohyun gave a crooked smile as he picked up the fresh flower from the garden. He turned to find said girl laying in the shade of a tree with her eyes closed, basking in the fresh air she almost never gets; the shadow of the tree reached from her head down to her waist. Woohyun swallowed the saliva building in his mouth and jogged up to his best friend. "What are you doing here? I thought you were walking behind me," Woohyun whined, "Why'd you leave me?"
He knew he wouldn't be able to get her to talk, but he tried so hard to get her to talk. He sighed, "Come on, Hye Jin. Just talk! Please? For me!"
Hye Jin sighed, and he thought she would as lingered open, but she shook her head. And he sighed again, "I'll whine until you do. Or, if you don't I won't talk to you."
Hye Jin shook her head with a smile. The both of them knew that wasn't going to happen; Woohyun has tried that threat several times before on her, and never actually pulled through. He would always have to talk to her about his obsession with TV idols, he could trust her because he knew she couldn't .
"Fine," Woohyun whined. He handed her the flower and grinned, "As I was saying before... This flower is for you! For the vase of flowers you're keeping, right?"
Hye Jin happily took the flower and smiled, giving him a tight hug as a thank you. "Anything for you, Hye Jin." Woohyun's expression softened.
If anything could get his mind off of the horrible restrictions of the adoption home, it would be finding ways to and making Hye Jin smile; He never liked her blank, thoughtful expressions.
