Married To My Boss
Chapter Five
Haru
We were silent the whole ride and I bothered not to start a conversation. My heart was still breathing extremely fast in my chest, and I didn't like it. For some weird miracle, I've never had the chance to speak or work directly with the CEO ever since I got into the company and this would be my first encounter with him. The fact that he's my fiancée - gulp - on our first meeting is very abnormal. Well, to me it is. I furrowed my brows when I saw him park his car at the front of a hotel called Somerset Palace Seoul, confused on why we were here. The door opened and I immediately flashed a smile to the hotel staff and stepped out of the car. He was already standing by the door and I walked to him as a valet entered the car to park it.
"Mr. Wu, why are we here?" I dared to ask as we stepped inside the lobby. The hotel staffs that happened to be in the lobby widened their eyes at the sight of him and bowed in respect, earning curious glances from some group of tourists who were leisurely sitting at the lobby area. Don't get your in a twist, people. It's just Kris Wu - the freaking owner of the hotel. I spotted the hotel manager walking towards us and bowed at the male.
"Mr. Wu, your table is waiting for you." she said and began to lead us away. Table? Don't tell me he's having lunch here? My guess was right. The manager led us to the hotel's restaurant and pointed us to a table in the VIP area where it was private and secluded. He surprised me by pulling a chair and gesturing me to sit; and when I did, he pulled the chair across from mine and sat down. "Your menu, sir, madam." A waiter said and handed both of us a menu each.
I widened my eyes when I caught sight of the prices of food. There's no way I'm coming here to eat. Sure it looks delicious, but I'm not about to spend ₩30,000 for a plate of spaghetti. I could get something with a bigger portion at a local restaurant with cheaper price. I may be paid highly at the company, but I'm not the type to spend my money leisurely. I heard my stomach growl and I thank God that it wasn't loud enough for other's to hear. Hang in there. We'll have lunch once Kris Wu sends me back to the office.
"What are you having, Ms. Song?" I heard him ask and lifted my head to meet his eyes. "Uh.. I think I'll pass. I'm not hungry." I told him with a small smile. I received a long, hard glare from the male and I ducked my head down, not daring to meet his eyes. Why does he look so angry? Once he was done ordering God-knows what, the waiter left the table with the menus and I was forced to meet his eyes. Again.
"Mr. Wu, why did you call me out here?" I asked and he sighed. "Are you going to act oblivious all the way, Ms. Song?" he asked and I frowned at his accusation. Well, it is your fault for asking the obvious, Song Haru. "Let me rephrase that; why did you call me out here to talk about... that? Why didn't we just stay in your office?"
Kris Wu scoffed at this. "One, it's lunch time and I'm ing hungry. Two, do you want to risk someone entering the office while we're talking about it, Ms. Song?" I see your point. I nodded my head and sighed. "Look, sir, I-"
"I want this whole thing to be called off." I blinked and stared at the man sitting in front of me. Did he just say what I think he just said? "Did you hear me, Ms. Song?" he asked and I nodded with a smile. "You wanted the wedding off. Thank God." I exclaimed but clammed my mouth shut when I realised I was acting excited at his words.
He raised his brow at this. "So, you're also not interested huh?" he asked and I gulped. "Don't get me wrong, sir. But I'm just not ready for this kind of...commitment." "Same here," he sighed and ran a hand in his golden hair. Wow, he looks so handsome like that. "I'm never into relationship like that." I nodded my head at his words. Of course not. He sleeps with women for fun, not love. One of the reasons why I don't want to marry him.
"I'm glad we're on the same page though." he suddenly said. "Now, I have to find a way to tell the former Chairman." I bit my bottom lips at this. I totally forgot about him - my grandfather's best friend. I may not be able to see the disappointed look on grandpa's face when I refuse this marriage, but I will surely be seeing the former Chairman's. Why did they make such agreement anyways?
"Ms. Song." I looked up and met his eyes. I was surprised to see that it held warmth in it unlike the ones I saw earlier. "Yes, sir?" I managed. "Thank you." he said which totally caught me off guard. "Sir?" "If it weren't for your grandfather, the Wu's would cease to exist." Kris Wu said with thi
