Star Crossed

“September 27, 2012”

Their courtship lasted for three years. Three years of relationships with a fair share of fights, misunderstandings, and sweet moments. Three years of romantic dates, late night conversations, and never ending cuddling. Who knew that one night and one mistake could take everything they had away? Who knew all because of that night, their well cherished relationship would be shattered like the glass that fell to the ground that very evening.

Both Chanyeol and Ji Eun woke up with a big smile on their faces. They knew that today was a special day for the both of them. September 27 marked the fourth year of their relationship. Chanyeol had planned a romantic night out, a romantic walk on the beach and a candle-lit dinner at the restaurant in the city.

Ji Eun

Fourth year with him. Nothing has been better than spending four years with him. Chanyeol is everything to me. Today marks the second year we’ve been engaged. I can still remember the way he proposed like it was just yesterday…

Chanyeol took me out to dinner. He got up on a little stage, sang, and got down on one knee. Sweet, simple, and straight to the point. I remembered the way his eyes twinkled like the stars that scattered across the dark sky that night.

As Ji Eun got up from her bed, her phone rang. His name appeared on the screen which caused her to grin widely from ear to ear.

“Good morning to my beautiful Fiance,” Chanyeol greeted with loads of enthusiasm like he did every morning.

“Good morning Yeol,” Ji Eun greeted back. With that, the phone call ended. Ji Eun had concluded that he might have just ended the call accidentally, but after 5 minutes of nothing, Ji Eun couldn’t help but feel sad at the fact that her boyfriend of four years and fiance of two years has forgotten one of the most important days of their lives. Just as Ji Eun has convinced herself that Chanyeol had forgotten about today, her phone appeared with a lengthy message from no other than, Chanyeol himself.

From: Park Dobby <3

   Happy Anniversary Babe!

You’ve probably concluded that I forgot what today was… of course not! On this exact day, four years ago, I saw a flawless woman walk pass by me. She was wearing a white floral dress that suited her perfectly. She looked classy, elegant, and cute. She was just hands down, mesmerizing. I knew right away that she was the one. I’m so glad she became mine. You have no idea how thrilled I am to call you mine. Now that our wedding is a year away, it makes me jumpy and all excited. Ji Eun, thank you for the best four years of my life.

I love you! ^^

Ji Eun couldn’t help but blush and grin widely that she could literally fit a whole donut in . Ji Eun made her way down the stairs to cook herself breakfast. She made her usual  Greek yogurt with fresh fruits for breakfast. It was was something she truly enjoyed eating. Ji Eun always ate breakfast as she checked her emails from work. As she was scrolling through her emails, she came across an email from Chanyeol.

From: [email protected]

To: [email protected]

Subject: An Important Message

Pick you up @ 5 pm ;)

Park Chanyeol

Instead of emailing Chanyeol, she insisted on texting him back.

To: Park Dobby <3

Alright! Thank you for the sweetest letter! I love you Yeol! You have no idea how thankful I am to have the best fiance in the world. Happy Anniversary! ^^

As Ji Eun sent her text message, her doorbell rang. As she opened it, she saw 48 daisies. One for every month they have spent together in all four years. As soon as she brought the flowers in, she called her loving fiance.

“Dobby! I love them! Thank you!” Ji Eun spoke continuously. When Ji Eun had calmed down from her talking, Chanyeol simply replied: “Anything for my princess.”

Chanyeol took a day off from work to plan everything for tonight. Chanyeol’s whole day consisted of preparation and making sure tonight goes smoothly and is a “perfect-out-of-a-fairytale” kinda thing.

       5:30 pm

The couple had arrived at the beach just in time for the sunset. Chanyeol laid a blanket out to sit on. The two cuddled and watched the sun disappear right before their eyes. Silence fell between the them. They cherished the moment and the fact that they had each other at that moment. Nothing else mattered to both of them whenever they were together.

   6:45 pm

The couple made their way to the fancy five star restaurant. Chanyeol had made a special reservation earlier. Ji Eun ordered her Ceasar Salad without croutons because she hated croutons for the life of her. Chanyeol ordered Carbonara, his favorite.

The sky grew darker, and the two adults adored their moment together. No silence was present. Chanyeol brought up the topic of marriage, and Ji Eun reminded Chanyeol about their first meeting with a wedding planner on January 5th. Chanyeol also mentioned his plan of having three boys and one girl. Chanyeol wanted to name his baby girl Jia.

As the night fell, the two had not grown tired of each other. The two were forced to leave the restaurant considering the fact that it was about to close.

11:25 pm

The two felt a pang of weariness. As Chanyeol drove back home, he couldn’t stop staring at the way Ji Eun’s skin glowed beautifully under the moonlight, the way her lips formed a cute heart shape, and her adorable pointy American nose that she probably inherited from her father. No matter how cliche it sounded, Chanyeol thought of Ji Eun as a fallen angel. As their car came to a stop at the sight of the red light, Chanyeol decided to steal a kiss on Ji Eun’s kissable cheeks. Ji Eun blushed terribly that it could possibly be seen in the darkness. The green light appeared and Chanyeol stepped on his gas and drove, when all of a sudden there was a feeling for rolling, bright lights, honking horns, and inexplicable pain.

Ji Eun tried her best to stay awake and wait for the rescue team. She could feel her head throbbing which made it complicated for her to focus. She could somehow get a glimpse of Chanyeol beside her. Ji Eun couldn’t turn her neck to look at Chanyeol because it felt like she had injured her neck. All she could see was an unconscious Chanyeol by her side. After a few minutes, which felt like years for Ji Eun, the rescue team came. She was taken out from the shattered car and was laid down on a cushion. Ji Eun could no longer keep her eyes open and finally fell into a deep sleep. Her last sight of Chanyeol was inside the second ambulance. Chanyeol was woken up by the loud shouting and loud sirens. He felt strong pain and drowsiness. He heard one of the medics ask him if he was conscious but Chanyeol couldn’t bring himself to answer. Chanyeol was taken out of the broken car after Ji Eun. He was able to mouth I love you to her before he himself drifted to a deep sleep as well.
