1 | Farewell Friend

     You stood by, slightly nervous. Lucky the coffee in your hand was still warm, because you felt like you'd been standing there for ages. Jimin finally returned with the others from the check-in line; he wrapped an arm around you lightly. Taehyung, fully dressed in awesome airport fashion, appeared before you again for the second time today. He smiled widely, holding his passport and ticket close to his black leather vest. You couldn't help but tsk at it, he's always the one to leave in style.

You stepped in front of him, handing him the cup of coffee. He glanced down at it casually before taking it from you, with more of a fast swift of hand. His actions and expressions were so fake, you weren't sure if you were the only one present who could tell though. "Thanks." You smiled, playing along. "So... how long do you plan to go for?" 

He shrugged, pouting his lips straight as he glanced around the airport pointlessly. He let out a short sigh before meeting eyes with you again and patting your head, "Don't worry, I'll be back when I'm ready." 

"Can we know where you're going at least?" 

He smiled and showed you his ticket that was slipped into his passport. "Paris." 

The six other boys behind you gave him light smirks, "Nice choice, V." The leader of the Boy Scouts (Yes, you still like to refer to them as Bangtan Boy Scouts), Rap Monster, whose real name you came to learn was Namjoon, punched Taehyung's shoulder lightly. Taehyung gave them a cute giggle before the call for passengers boarding his plane came over the speaker. Your lips came together as you couldn't help but pout - you weren't ready to see him go yet.

"Well, guess I should be going then. Take care guys, I'll see you all soon." He waved, looking so mature and manly. He was going alone. Damn the stupid holidays for coming now, otherwise there was no way he'd be allowed to go alone. His parents would've suspected his reasons for leaving if "It's the holidays, I need a break" wasn't a reasonable enough excuse. Your fingers linked among each other cluelessly as you watched him hug s one by one. They warned him that if he didn't get his back in time, they'd promote their new song without him. They chuckled amidst the short conversations and last reminders, and you stared at him. You wanted to remember his smiling face, even if you knew too well that it was just one expression among the many beautiful ones you've seen. 

"Hey," his voice broke you out of your thoughts, "take care, okay?" He hugged you with both of his arms, and you squeezed him back, letting both your heads lean into each other's necks tightly. "You too, don't go picking up unopened candy off the floor and eating it," you teased as he broke the hug, giving you a playful glare, which you were certain, was genuine. "Hey, that was a one-time thing. Besides, it really was untouched," he whined, his eyes rising innocently as he thought of the time from years ago. 

You fisted his clothing lightly. "Enjoy the coffee. We'll miss you." 

With that, he looked down at the drink you gave. "Oh yeah, that reminds me. Why'd you give me this? My flight lasts for more than a day, I plan to sleep all the way." 

"The full 24 hours?" J-Hope, or Hoseok, asked. 

"Yeah, need my beauty sleep." Taehyung smiled with his eyes closed, imitating a flower-boy pose as he his smooth cheek. You all rolled your eyes at him, before after a few lingering moments and last words, your best friend for 6 years disappeared past the sliding doors. You bit you bottom lip as you kept your eyes on the door, hoping that he'd be his playful self and jump out for you to see him wave his arms again. But it didn't happen; you were okay with it though. It was probably better that way, maybe. 

Jimin's hand slipped into yours and tugged on you softly to glance at him, "Hey, let's go get something to eat." 

"Sure." 

     "So, what holiday plans do you guys have?" Jin, the oldest hyung of the 7- well, now 6 with an away member, asked. You all sat at a large round table and ordered some fast good. "Let's go to the beach and have a day of fun!" Suga exclaimed in a high voice. His real name is Yoo- never mind, you preferred calling him by his stage name anyway. 

Suggestions were thrown around the table which would potentially be what would fill the next few weeks of freedom. You watched as the older boys had fun discussing what they could do, grinning at their excited faces. You glanced around, and met your eyes with the maknae, Jeongkook, who sat opposite the table. He was staring at you; Jimin told you he has a strong habit to do that. You simply smiled back. 

     The holidays had only just begun, but the oppas were ready to start celebrating and having fun now. As soon as they saw the arcade in the airport, there was no hesitation in going in and spending some time on colourful machines that gave you entertainment, and helped sidetrack things you didn't want to think about. 

While all the others raced each other on the cars, you headed for the pair shooting game. You could never resist them. You slid the coins in and hit the 'Player 1' button. Grabbing the gun at the ready, you smirked. "Mind if I join?" 

You looked to your right, surprised at the tall figure you remembered to be the same height as yourself only a few months ago. "Yeah, sure." You smiled, glad he offered to play alongside you. "Damn Jeongkook, last time I saw you you were my height," you chuckled, feeling awkwardly old. 

"Well... I grow fast." He let out shyly before putting his coins in and grabbing the second gun. He copied your stance and held the gun straight at the screen; you both shared a grin, immediately recognising the mutual experience you shared for the game. "Let's begin then." 

Round after round, you shot zombies, pirates, suited men, ninjas, even tiny octopuses and ducks, until you reached the very last round. This was the round you rarely got to on your own - the first time you ever reached it was with Taehyung, and Jeongkook was way better than him at this. 

A large slug monster appeared, and you both had to aim your guns at several targets at the same time to kill the slimy thing on the 2D screen, all while it made its way closer and closer to you. You concentrated and you both successfully hit two targets well, but the rest of the game didn't go as well, as Jeongkook's aim spot never made it in time to match with yours before the targets changed position. "What're you doing? Shoot." You glanced at him quickly to find him staring at you once again. He did as told before the same situation happened again. In less than 30 seconds, you both lost miserably. While placing the guns back in their holders, you shrugged, satisfied. "Oh well, maybe next time we'll beat it." 

"Yeah, I think I'll be ready for that then." 

You chuckled at him, "Ready for what? You'd be able to do well at this anyway." 

"Really, you think?" He smiled widely, anticipating your answer. You nodded lightly, unsure of why he was so excited.

     "Haha, look at them over there Jimin. So cute, like our two maknaes." J-Hope commented as he stood by the car racing seats. Jimin glanced back at the two of you, smiling before returning to his race. J-Hope continued giggling, "Haven't seen Jeongkook so hyped up for a while. It's like he likes your girlfriend, Jimin." He joked, earning a light punch from the dark-haired male.

     1st chapter up! I hope you guys liked it! I had a few ideas come to me about what'll happen in this fic, and the highlights will appear near the middle to end of the story, so please stick around until then. For now, take care and please leave a comment about what you thought. :)
