The world may seem normal to others, but the supernatural has always been with us. They roam the streets, frequent the shops, and even attend the same schools as us. Their outer appearance blends in to look like us, but underneath their outer layer hides their true form. Some don't even have a different form. They look just like us, but have supernatural abilities. These supernatural beings are more in tune with what's really going on around them unlike the simpleton mortals. Some are able to put their abilities to good use for human kind, and some abuse their power and don't help mankind at all. Of course you have those who are neutral and do things to their own accordance.

Soon enough, times have changed, and the supernaturals have become a normal thing to society, more or less that is. As mysterious and weird incidents starts happening and can't be explained by natural science and rational logic, it's just deemed as a "freak accident" by everyone. Sure it caused some destruction and other things and it is why the government has ordered all the police departments to set up a unit that can deal with these issues in a civilian-like manner without involving air pilots and tanks to alarm the citizens. If this is set up, then the citizens can be at peace believing it to be just those kind of stories to tell kids to scare them as to not misbehave.

Anyways, the story takes place in modern day New York City of New York in the USA. The New York City Police Department has it's very own "Special Unit" to deal with these occurrences because they have to follow procedure and NYC is quite a popular place to be. Anyone is able to come and go as they please as long as they follow the law of the NYPD (New York [City] Police Department). Anything weird, out of the norm, and especially parnormal activity related cases went to the Special Unit when the normal police force aren't able to make sense of it. There are countless of calls with these descriptions and the Special Unit is always on the case to figure them out. Many of these cases go unsolved or become on-going just like normal nonsupernatural cases.

The head detectives running the Special Unit is Detective Alissa Cho and Detective Sutton Rittana. Detective Cho seems more secretive and a bit imitimidating while Detective Rittana is talkative and a bit dull. Still, these two somehow are able to work together to get things done, plus Sutton is able to play mediator while aiding Alissa as she does her own thing at times. The two are split into two teams to help with the workload and go about how they want to go about it without bothering the other unless needed. In the end though, the two end up working together despite their many caseloads. Others wondered how these two are able to cooperate and get along with one another as they seem like an unlikely pair that cannot tolerate one another. The truth behind it, they trust one another and have respect for the other.

The Special Unit isn't that large, but they are efficient as everyone does their fair share of work. Sure they work over time and have a lot on their hands as most of these supernatural cases take up a lot of their time just like regular police work cases. The only difference is that instead of getting shot at by regular bullets or stabbed with a knife, or even chased down by cars; the Special Unit gets shot by kinetic energy, flame balls, stabbed with talons or claws, and chased by flying inanimate objects, spirits, or raging creatures. They also analyze mulitating blood, interrogate hybrid suspects, get witnesses' accounts that don't add up and make sense, and have to make a report on all their data and report it to the government official for analysis purposes.

This time though, Detectives Cho and Detective Rittana are chasing after something much bigger than these things altogether. What started as a weird robbery incident becomes an even bigger case looming through the mini bread crumbs that leads to the whole loaf of bread with lots of questions leaving them with less answers. As things start to play out and come together, yet makes things even more questionable; the detectives are wondering if something much darker with a vengeance is to arise and start a new unresolved revolution.

And what comes with action, mystery, and suspense is of course some romance, too. The detectives find their hearts complicating their minds in trying to solve this growing case, but it's making them see the case and themselves in another light. Whether it's good for them or not, only they can decipher, decide, and accept or reject it as however they want it to be. With Alissa's hidden abilities and secrets to the supernatural world, and Sutton's unaware involvement to the rising myserious case; how will the two solve it without destorying the world in the process?

It's a case worth solving and finally bringing everything to a conclusion and peaceful rest for all.
