Chapter 1
I'd Give My Life For You~HIATUSSeohyun went through her ballet class with ease, twirling across the room
Effortlessly as Pas De Deux played on the stereo. She followed the beat of the music,
As her arms stretched over her head gracefully. Her poise was clearly shown in her
Dancing, and her teacher praised her for it. As the song came to an end, and she did
One last pirouette as the other fellow ballet dancers clapped. She bowed, as a small
Modest smile played across her face. She walked across the room, and delicately wiped
Her forehead then picked up her water bottle, taking a few small sips from it. As she
Drank a few of the beginner dancers scurried over to her. “Joohyun sunbae, you’re so
Good.” One girl said in awe. The girl next to her nodded in agreement. Seohyun gave
A small smile. “You can call me Seohyun remember?” She told them. “Okay Seohyun
Sunbae.” The girl said and they hurried off again to the other side of the room. She
Went to the bathroom and changed, slipping on her jeans and a light blue velour jacket.
After changing, she bowed to her teacher, thanking her and said goodbye to the other
Dance students. She started walking towards her University nearby, stopping by the
Computer room. Poking her head inside the classroom, she saw a few students at the
Computers, with one familiar face, at the computer nearest to the door. “Kibum shi.”
She called out, to the young man in glasses. He turned away from the screen and glanced
At her and smiled. “Seohyun. Hey. Did you just come from dance class?” He asked. She
Smiled, nodding. “What are you working on?” She asked, curious. “Come see.” He told
Her. She walked inside the classroom, and stood to the left of his seat, peering at the
Screen. She saw a bunch of letters and numbers. “What is it?” She asked, wrinkling her
Forehead slightly in confusion. “It’s kind of like a binary code. Press enter.” He told her.
She did as she was told, and up popped a new window of an animated cupid, flowers and
Hearts, as well as cursive script that read. “Queen of Hearts Dance, February 13 @ 7PM
In the ballroom of the Wilshire Grand Hotel.” She smiled, impressed. “Wow. All those
Numbers and letters did all this?” She asked. He nodded, and removed his glasses,
Wiping them on his green polo shirt. “You’d be surprised what other things you can
Make when you figure out the right combinations of codes.” He explained, glancing at
Her for a moment, then placed his glasses back on. She nodded, noticing his eyes were
Dark brown almost black. Although he knew a lot about computers, and dressed the part
His features were far from the stereotypical computer geek. His hair was an auburn hue,
And he wore short bangs, that he had to keep flipping out of his eyes. His skin was
Somewhat fair, and his cheekbones were high. She had heard people refer to him as the
“intellectual hottie.” And she knew she herself was not as immune to his looks as she
Wished she could be. “Seohyun. Seohyun.” Key waved a hand in front of her face.
She snapped out of her reverie, and smiled apologetically. “Oh sorry. Yeah. That’s
Really cool. Are you putting it on the school website?” She asked. He nodded.
She glanced at the clock on the wall. “Oh. My class is starting soon. I’ll see you
Later.” She told him. He said goodbye and she left the room, walking down the
Hallway quickly to her Environmental Science class.
“What about the Yong JiSub case?” Nicole asked, picking up a French fry from
Her plate, and dipping it in ketchup. Jinwoon took a sip of his cappuccino, and then
Spoke up. “Terminated. There wasn’t enough evidence to incriminate him.” He explained.
“Oh. And the Yi factory scandal?” She asked. Jinwoon took a French fry from her plate,
Eating it and then spoke again. She made a face at this. “Yunho hyung and Ara noona
Were re-assigned to that case since they’re more experienced.” He explained. She nodded,
Taking a sip of her iced tea as they sat outside of the café, next to their University.
“Speaking of recent events, what color is your dress for the dance this coming Saturday?”
He asked nonchalantly. “Red. Why?” She asked, puzzled. “I need to figure out what color
Tie to wear remember?” He said with a smile. She looked lost at first, and then it
Registered. “Oh yeah. I forgot since I went with some of my girl friends last year.” She
Said, looking apologetic. Jinwoon looked down at his cup of cappuccino. “It’s fine” He
Said with a wave of his hand. “I’m sorry Jin oppa.” She said brightly. He glanced back up
At her. “Let’s get Dukbokki after classes okay?” She said. He smiled, nodding. They
Finished up their drinks, and then left the café, walking across the campus courtyard
To the University’s main building.
