Winter Girl
I am cold and unfeeling. I am an orphan, alone since thirteen years old. I dislike plenty of things and only mildly like a few. Life is dark for me. I merely just survive in this unforgiving, unfair world.

I can honestly say I love her. She makes my heart grow warm to the point I start to melt. I wish she would come visit me again... Just so I can feel her... I yearn for her to touch me and whisper "I love you too". But she's Winter's girl, not mine. She belongs to the seasons, not me.

This incorporates a twisted reality, has Wonderland-concepts at times and is a fluff-angst type fanfic.

Foreword

Cold

It's cold outside, though it isn't much warmer in here.

Inside me is my hot blood coursing through my veins, but for whatever the reason I am always chilled to the bone... Perhaps that is because there is a lack of sincere warmth in my life. What good is there in surviving when there is no life in one's world?

...It cannot all be bleak however, there is still Chessie.

"You silly cat, what am I to do with you?" I ask the fuzzy creature that is making itself comfortable on my lap. I him behind his ears and loud purrs echo in my small bedroom.

Cheshire is a rather ugly cat. He has a small hole in his left ear, possibly from some abuse he endured before coming to me, and he looked ancient as if he was meant to be a dead cat plenty of years prior. He had an odd grin, it was wide and animated hence why I named him Cheshire. I strongly disliked this creature, he annoyed me to no end and was a major source to enough of my frustration but despite this I still kept the damn creature because honestly Chessie was the only family I could ever have. We were both orphans, outcasts to the world, so although we hardly liked one another we would put up with the other for the sake of warding off the consuming darkness that loniless appeared to conjure up productively.

Cheshire gave me a look so human-like I swore he was actually speaking to me. "Feed me."

I sighed heavily, I must be insane speaking to a cat. "What should I make for dinner?" I asked, not because I think the cat will actually respond to me but because asking the question aloud made my brain seem to answer quicker.

Lentil soup.

The idea popped into my mind with one glance at Chessie's ugly smooshed in cat face and I nodded. "Lentil soup it is then. Get off me you stupid animal." I shoved the fat cat to the ground and he landed somehow effortlessly graceful on his feet producing hardly even a whisper of a noise.

I threw the blanket off my lap and stood up from the window-seat I was sitting on for the entire afternoon. The snow was coming down gently at a constant slow pace, it looked fluffy and almost beautiful but I knew better. It may be a pretty sight but the moment you get close to it or worst touch it, you would get a nasty bite of coldness. Like me the snow was just something pretty to look at but never get near.
