Typecasting
Ranting & RavingI was going through my folder of half done writings and found this one. It’s kinda all over the place but . . . go ahead.
type·cast ˈtīpˌkast verb gerund or present participle: typecasting To assign (an actor or actress) repeatedly to the same type of role, as a result of the appropriateness of their appearance or previous success in such roles. "he tends to be typecast as the caring, intelligent male" represent or regard (a person or their role) as a stereotype. "people are not as likely to be typecast by their accents as they once were"
I think that I have discovered the answer to your problem. Your problem, if you haven't admitted it yet, is that you are bored with fan fiction. I now understand why there are a lot writers who don’t read them anymore. Weeding out the good from the bad can be daunting. And the rare ‘good’ stories seem to be the ones that don’t get updated but three times a year.
*sigh*
All of the stories are blurring together. You've subscribed to so many stories, but there are only a few that you actually get excited for and wait impatiently to see continued. Am I right? I probably am. I usually am. I think I am, because I have the same fatigue.
I come to you today not to rant per say, but to bring you hope via suggestions.
As a reader, how do you get out of your rut? Where are all the good stories?, you ask yourself. Sadly, depending on how much time you spend on this site, you may have found them all.........within your fandom.
From what I have observed, and based on my own behavior, is that we tend to read by bias. I am a huge Big Bang fan, so most of the stories on my sub list are about them. Normal, right? But...how many times can I read about GD in ed up relationships t
