The Staircase
The Cold Hard TruthTaehyung smiled when he saw the inside of the apartment. It was clean and had a refreshing feeling to it. The walls and floor tiles were different shades of white, and the kitchen cupboards were white as well. The lack of furniture in the apartment made it seem brand new.
He brought his brother and sister to one of the three bedrooms in the apartment.
“I’m not sure if this is officially going to be your room, but just unpack your things in here for now, okay?” He opened their suitcases and helped them separate each other’s clothes, placing them in the green drawers that were already in the room.
After that was completed, Taehyung unfolded a big blanket he brought and spread it across the floor.
“Sleep on here tonight. Your beds should be delivered by tomorrow, alright?”
The two were too tired to complain. They nodded their heads before passing out on the blanket.
He smiled and went to unpack his things.

Taehyung chose the smallest of the three bedrooms. He didn’t mind. He actually preferred having a small room. Although he liked being in wide and open areas when there were other people in the room, being alone in a big space discomforted Taehyung and made him feel lonely. He placed his clothes in the closet and put his textbooks on the desk that was in the corner.
Unlike his siblings’ room, this room had big windows that allowed Taehyung to view Seoul from a high elevation. He breathed on the window and wrote “Kim Taehyung” in the fog with his finger. He stepped back and smiled
