Where We Learn Deers Do Get Homesick
Little DeerTranslation: I'm home
It wasn’t long before Sehun realized that Luhan needed to go back into the wild. His home sweet home, back to his family, a place where he would be even better taken care of than at Sehun’s, where he could live happy and not worry about being alone during the storms or not constantly be concerned if he was antagonizing Sehun while he did his work.
Though Luhan would miss Flappy bird, pasta, and those warm baths, he too knew that it was time to go. For Sehun didn’t want to play after work or didn’t want to take Luhan out to restaurants and or the mall, things had become bland, the things that were so much fun were now only things they would do to kill time and not kill boredom.
Luhan pressed his nose against the glass as the trees blurrily ran from his gaze and the morning fog coated the forest floor, leaving Luhan to scourer the ground behind the window. “Sehunnie…” Luhan sighed “What if I don’t want to go back? What if I want to stay with you and eat pasta everyday and have warm baths and cuddles?” Luhan stared at Sehun longingly, his bottom lip a pout. “Sehunnie thinks that this is the better for you Luhan, besides, you need to go home…” Luhan sighed, sinking back into the car seat “you miss home don’t you?” Luhan shook his head, too upset to admit it “But Sehun house is my home now” Luhan whined “Please, I don’t wanna” Luhan stomped his feet.
The car halted to a stop, the same stop where Sehun had picked up Luhan, the same tree remained where Luhan had peered out from. Sehun ran around to the other side of the car, ushering Luhan out and spreading his arms wide, “Home sweet home” Sehun turned to Luhan whose tears were on the brink of falling. “No no no,” Sehun cooed “please don’t cry, I’m doing this for you” Sehun turned Luhan to face him, pulling him into a tight embrace “For me,”
Luhan cried into Sehun’s shoulder, his antlers nicking Sehun in the head as he nuzzled against the crook of his neck. Sehun rubbed Luhan’s back, quietly shushing him as he wheezed. Luhan pulled away and smiled “for Sehun, and teddy” Sehun nodded, down Luhan’s neck “ya,” he sniffled “For teddy and I,” Sehun breathed “Go now, friends are waiting for you” Luhan strolled over to the beginning division of forest and road, turning to Sehun who was watching him with tears streaming down his face.
Sehun turned and entered the car, hanging on the steering wheel and letting his tears fully fall onto his pants. He took and deep inhale and revved the engine and began driving back home.
Sehun stepped inside his apartment, shrugging off his jacket and aimlessly tossing it on the couch. He wandered throughout the apartment, his breath hitched in his chest when he came across Luhan’s teddy. Sehun picked it up and cradled it against his chest, swaying himself back and forth. “Luhan, goddamn-it I miss you already and it hasn’t even been an hour” Sehun sniveled “Please, come back”
