“Stop staring, you’re being creepy,” Sehun mutters under his breath, elbowing Kai in the side, grin turning up the corners of his mouth.

    Kai starts, the popcorn bowl jostling a little in his lap, and shoots Sehun a rueful look.

    “I’m not staring,” he retorts, eyes flickering back to the tv screen with a pout, and Sehun muffles his laugh in the palm of his hand.

    “It’s just weird,” Kai continues in a low voice. “I mean, not in a bad way. It’s just, look at Yixing. He looks so nice, like he’s full of rainbows and puppies. And we both know that’s a lie. And Kris is my boss, so that should just be awkward on principle.”

    “Shut up,” Sehun gets out past his hand, eyes crinkling at the corners with amusement. “Just watch the movie.”

    “You know we can all hear you guys, right?” Jongdae says from where he’s sitting on the floor, Yixing’s head in his lap, eyes never leaving the tv, where the third Harry Potter movie is playing.

    Chanyeol snorts next to Sehun, his left arm wrapped around Kris’s shoulders on his other side, as Kai mumbles something unintelligible into his popcorn bowl.

    Somehow they had all ended up at Yixing’s apartment for an impromptu movie night three days before Christmas.

    After Yixing and Sehun had put down blankets and pillows on the floor, and Chanyeol had made popcorn, Jongdae had pulled Yixing down next to him amidst the blankets while the other four had somehow managed to squeeze onto Yixing’s tiny couch.
