This is an adaptation of Catherine by Atlus, if any of you familiar with the game; you’ll know the concept basically revolves around dreams, occultism, and love triangles. There won’t be any crazy platforming in this story though; instead I’ll be focusing on the dynamics between the character relationships. Also, this is not a horror story – it’s more of a mixture between mystery, thriller, and romance with supernatural elements. I’ll be making some plot alteration to better suit the story, so it won’t be exactly the same as the game. While the game is infamous for being R rated, I’ll keep this one to a mild level since I already write another R fanfic and honestly, too much uality can be tedious. ^^;

Just like in the original game, this story had multiple endings as well and this is the interactive part. Basically, you (readers) play the role of The Stranger, a patron to the same bar as Eunjung - the protagonist of the story. During the end of each chapter, Eunjung will ask you for an advice regarding the problem she’s having. You will be given multiple responds, and the answer will be chosen via majority votes. These advices will greatly influence the storyline and Eunjung’s character development, also points to which woman to be her final partner.

As for pairing in this story, it will be Eunjung/Qri, Eunjung/Jiyeon, Soyeon/Jonghyuk and few more which I rather reveal as the story progressed. Depending on the progress it's not impossible to unlock Hyomin/Jiyeon, Eunjung/Hyomin route as well. The possibility aren't limited, but I have to clarify there will be no you x anyone, since that doesn't really goes with the story. ^^;

Main Characters

Hahm Eunjung is the story’s protagonist, a 24-year-old programmer who enjoys her carefree life of late night drinking with her friends. She is currently in a casual same relationship with Qri, and is pressured to take their relationship further. Her life changed when she unexpectedly meets a mysterious beauty named Jiyeon at her local pub, the Stray Sheep. After that the bridge between dream and reality started to blur...

Park Jiyeon is a mysterious 20-year-old girl who just happens to be Eunjung’s ideal type. She’s the kind of girl who makes both men and women turns and stare when she passes. Her carefree attitude is disturbing Eunjung’s everyday life.

Lee Qri is a 26-year-old rising model and fashion designer. She met Eunjung in a club where they fall for each other. Qri wants Eunjung to come out publicly with her, which she is not ready for.

Park Hyomin is a 24-year-old programmer, Eunjung’s best friend, co-worker and also a regular at the Stray Sheep’s Pub. Having recently experienced a bad break up, Hyomin turned cynical with the idea of relationship and advises Eunjung against it.

Park Soyeon is a 26-year-old mid-management level employee at a multinational corporate. She is currently in a committed relationship with her fiancé and also fellow co-worker, Jonghyuk. Despite having a fiancé, she keeps postponing their marriage because of her long-time feelings for Boram.

Jeon Boram is the Stray Sheep’s 27-year-old pub waitress and Eunjung’s childhood friend. She has a cheerful persona, sharp intuition and is well versed in matters of rumors circulating around the streets.

Jieun is the mysterious masked girl whom Eunjung met on Tartarus. She’s a loner who relied on nothing, but her own wits and strength. Unlike other accursed, Jieun entered Tartarus by her own free will, and she seemed to know a lot about it.

Support Characters

Sunny is a 24-year-old amateur model who befriended Eunjung through Qri. Though lacked maturity for woman her age, she professes a strong desire to find true love. Currently having a secret crush on Hyomin.

Park “Gentlemen” Jaesang is Stray Sheep’s owner and barkeep. His hobby is to make friends with new customers. Very little is known about him, except he lives in Gangnam and is rarely seen without his signature sunglasses.

Narsha is the enigmatic keeper of Tartarus, whose main job is to inform the accursed of their impending trial. She seemed to favor Eunjung among other accursed. 

The Stranger aka you, are the newest patron of Stray Sheep pub where you met Eunjung for the first time. Though you two just met, she seemed to hold your opinion in high regards stating it’s because you had a special “air” around you, truth is she’s just too drunk.

GUIDE to Karma Points, Tartarus & Wild Card System.

First time readers please read this first. Now this may seem a bit unusual but bear with me a little, this is not complicated at all. The Karma System only serves to give the readers freedom to decide which way the story will flow. I don't mean to force this on anyone, only if you don't use the privilege, then I will write the story as I see fit. Either way, please do enjoy your stay ^__^

Karma System

1. What is the Karma System?

It's a system where readers can evaluate the action of each characters. Each readers will be given 3 karma points every new chapter which you can distribute as either negative (-) or positive karma (+) into the characters. 

2. What does Karma points affect?

Giving karma points to Eunjung will directly affect her nightmare/trials. If Eunjung starts the chapter with negative karma, there's a high chance she will encounter a watcher, just like Ereshkigal in the first chapter. Negative karma also means her dreaming will get more surreal. Please note, the advice she took from you also nets her karma points, both positive and negative.

Meanwhile, giving positive karma points to another character (Such as Boram, Hyomin) will lead into story-line focused on that character. The proportion will be based on who held the highest karma. Lastly, it also unlocks optional romance route. Example: In case of Soyeon, she won't leave Jonghyuk if not given enough positive karma.

4.How to give Vote & Karma points?

Vote A, -1 Eunjung, +2 Hyomin.  (Remember only 3 point maximum)

Tartarus aka The Palace of Lament

A tiny bit of glossary, Tartatus is the place where God imprisons 200 watchers (fallen angels). It also serves as a lobby for all accursed to gather before their trial.

1. How is this relevant?

By netting higher negative karma, Eunjung will get thrown into the Tartarus as repercussion. It doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing though, since there are characters that can only be found in Tartarus, (At least until the story reach certain point) like Jieun and Narsha. By going to Tartarus there's also a chance to encounter the nightmare version of the main casts, like Hyomin and such.

2. What does this had to do with the story?

If you're interested with finding out the truth behind the curse, Tartarus would be the place to investigate. Otherwise, the truth will still be revealed but only very later in the story.

Wild Card System

1. What is the Wild Card System?

It's a system designed to reward the participants with extra karma points. Basically the holder of wild card had the right to 5 karma points instead of the usual 3. But, do mind that Wild Card are valid for one chapter only.

2. How to get a Wild Card?

The holder of Wild Card are chosen among the participants. There won't be anyone getting wild card two times in a row.

3. He/She is not using the Wild Card, can I have it?

Yes, you may asks for it, but only after minimum 5 days passed after the latest chapter release.
