"Umma, appa" Kai called out as he entered their house with Jinri tailing behind, some of the maids greeted kai and eyed jinri from behind

"oppa" she reached for his hand as she tried to keep up with him, kai held her close

"Oh jongin" his umma greeted as she peck him on the cheeks and her attention was dragged down to Jinri

"Oh? Another baby? I thought you'll be returning the baby" his mom asked as she pats Jinri's head

"Ani, this baby is actually-" kai wasn't able to finish when butler Han butted in

"Jongin, adoption month just ended and you can't tell me this kid is just another orphan, is she perhaps you're daughter? You don't have to deny it jongin, it's okay, come here" Butler Han opened his arms widely as he stared at Kai with watery eyes while sniffling a bit

"Umma" Kai looked at his mother for help since butler Han was overreacting again, for the nth time

"Hush Han! Here you go again getting all emotional, that kid is not kai's" his mom gave butler Han a stern look

"Oh.. Well if not, then who is that kid?" Butler Han pointed at Jinri who hid behind Jongin

"Everybody, this is Jinri. This kid is not mine for I found her lying alone in lotte world" he said as if he was declaiming or something

"Where are her parents?" His mom and butler Han chorused

"She said she doesn't have one or two or whatever" Kai shrug as he proceed to drop himself on their couch and jinri did the same, she drops herself next to Kai who was busy with his phone

"Then what are we going to do with her?" Butler Han asked

"I don't know.. Turn her in for adoption in the orphanage or something" Kai casually said and Jinri looked at him, betrayed, so she shamelessly side hugged Kai as if telling him to don't even think of doing that. Kai froze and stared down at her

"Orphanage? No! That place is hell for kids like her" his mom then sat next to Jinri and pulled her for a hug, she could smell that expensive perfume that his mom  uses, probably somewhere from France, and she could smell hope from his mom

"So what're you planning on doing with her?" Kai looked blankly at his mother, Jinri wonders how Kai could give his mom that cold piercing look, she shifted her gaze from Kai to his mom, and his mom probably got used to Kai's usual facial expression.

"Adopt her!" His mom said enthusiasticically while hugging Jinri who was drowned in her chest

"No." Kai automatically disapprove and Jinri felt 3x more betrayed and hurt, 'how could he do this to me?!' Jinri screamed internally as she thought on putting up an act as an imaginary light bulb lights just above her head

"Bu jongin" that was Jinri's cue, she muster up all her courage and let her face drain down the sink

"Meanie, meanie, meanie!" She wobbles her lower lip and cried as loud as she can

Kai's eyes widen at Jinri's sudden reaction, he barely thought that Jinri could even understand what they were talking about, his mom tried to ease her but she wouldn't just stop crying.

"Look what you have done jongin! Han, get some water and some treats to ease this kid" his mom continued rubbing Jinri's back who was to crying so hard that her face became red, well if you were turned into a kid and will be put into an orphanage with bunch of kids you don't know, you'd do the same.

"Aish, sorry sorry. Jinri-ah, oppa's sorry" Kai mumbled as he wipes away Jinri's tears (Sulli was definitely loving this), butler Han came back with a glass of water and some cookies, but Jinri wasn't going to stop until Kai will declare the magic words

"C'mon Jinri, stop crying. I'll promise I won't send you off to some orphanage" and on cue, Jinri abruptly stopped crying and drank some water

"How old was this kid again?" Kai asked his mom who in return shrug

"Don't ask me, that's your kid, not mine" his mom chuckled and adoringly help Jinri reach for the cookies on the table and feeds her

"Oh boy" Jinri heard Kai and laughs internally, she was now smiling with triumph despite her swollen eyes

'Mission Accomplished' she thought
