"Merry Christmas!!!" CL yelled from her spot on the couch, Esme walked in glumly with her bag in hand.

"Why so grumpy? Is it because you worked on Christmas?" CL asked trying to lighten the mood, "We have to spend this joyous day together, I expect at least a little smile."

The corners of Esme's mouth lifted slightly as she dropped her body onto the couch right next to CL causing the latter to bounce a bit.

"We both can't act like this, why do you think I'm trying to make us actually look like a couple without looking like sick depressed kids?" CL looked over concerned.

"What else can I do..? I miss her too much for words to even explain. I physically need her in my arms, I just don't feel whole," Esme frowned as she laid her head on her partner.

"YAH! I know it hurts... I spent the night after I did what I had to do, now it's your turn to pick yourself back up again. Now, here is your Christmas present," CL handed a large red box with a smile.

Esme lifted the lid off peering inside to see a smaller box, she smiled to herself realizing the girl's trick. She continued to unwrap and unwrap box after box until she met a similar box, "What is this Chae?"

"I need to make up for this," CL raised her hand at the ring on her finger, "So you cant break our promise either."

Esme chuckled opening to an almost replica of the ring she gave to CL but with an onyx band and a lot less diamonds.

"I know you dont like bling much, so..." CL bit her lip nervously wondering if her best friend had liked the gift.

"Of course," Esme lunged forward wrapping her arms around CL before landing a soft kiss on her nose, "I love you best friend."

"Love you too girl, now get off before I die," CL laughed pushing Esme forward
