Genre: angst Requester: Inn_STARLIGHT Author's note: Sorry it took so long, I just started writing the first part of the Christmas special and I got distracted -_-     Rule number one; never compare your girlfriend to any other girl, especially not your ex.   Inna sat at her desk, wishing the hands on the clock would just jump ahead so that she could go home. Work had been slow and boring this week, as everyone was always hard at work and there was an uncomfortable silence across the building. She was still trying to edit the cover of the magazine, but every time she finished something had to be changed. It was always “No, this section is going to come first,” and “No, Inna, page 13 is now the interview-with-SHINee page.” She was sick of it. All she wanted was to go home and cuddle up to her boyfriend Taekwoon. Taekwoon, however, had been acting quieter than usual recently. He was always so deep in thought and Inna very selfishly wanted to know what he was thinking. Maybe if she found something else to do, time would pass faster.   Time finally dragged the clock hands to read 6pm. Her belly grumbled and she decided to get a take away before remembering that Taekwoon would be home soon. Inna sighed to herself. I wish I was better at cooking so that we wouldn’t have to eat out all the time. She picked up her coat and dialled the number for the take away. Taekwoon’s favourite. I hope there’s no argument about this tonight.   Inna had just finished prepping the table when Taekwoon arrived home all sweaty. “How was your day?” she smiled, going to hang his coat up when he did it himself. He hummed. “I got your favourite.” she pushed his bowl towards him. He sat down without a word. “You ordered again.” He didn’t touch his chopsticks. “You always order. You never cook.” “I know. I should learn to cook. I just never have the time to learn, jagiya.” “Hyojoo worked as a nursery teacher all day and still found time to cook.” He mumbled. “Yeah,” she ate slowly. “But she already knew how, I don’t.” she looked up at him cautiously. Broken plates scattered across the floor. Inna looked down at her bleeding hands, tears in her eyes. He kicked the wall, glaring at her. “You can’t do anything right, can you?” “I know I’m not as good at cooking as her, but I’m not the same person as her, am I?” She whispered.   Hyojoo shivered, pulling her flowery scarf over her petite nose. She rubbed her pink hands together and stared up at me with her big eyes. “Taekwoon oppa,” her cheeks flushed pink. “Can I hug you to keep warm.” The young me, who was just a teenager who had never dated before, blushed too. I wrapped my arms around her and let her bury her face into my jumper. Taekwoon smiled at the fond memory as he sat across from Inna. Meanwhile, Inna was thinking of a different memory. Taekwoon’s mother glanced at me with a disgusted expression. Taekwoon had just told her about the dinner us two had for our one year anniversary. Taekwoon’s father smiled apologetically at me and told me not to worry. I chewed on my food slowly.
