Chapter 6
(ED. C4) SEIJIRA ACADEMY 세이지라 아카데미When my alarm clock rang, I thought for a split second that I was back home. When I opened my eyes however, I found myself staring at a completely different room.
Right, I’m at Seijira and it’s my first day.
I got up from the bed and saw that Krystal is still sleeping. She has this cute panda-eyes sleeping cap on. Despite the dread that I was feeling, I smiled to myself. Well, it’s still early, though. It’s okay not to wake her up. I got my towel and headed straight to the bathroom.
As soon as I got out, I headed straight to my closet which I fixed the night before and wore my new school uniform. Amazingly, it fits me well. How they found out my measurement, I’ve no idea.
“Good morning!” Krystal greeted me from behind. She’s so full of energy. “You sure do wake up early. Are you excited?”
“No,” I admitted.
“You better be!” She said and then she walked to the bathroom.
Krystal showered so long, I started to worry if she fainted there or something. When I asked her why, she just answered sassily that it’s only decent for a girl to take that long because of so many creams and gels that we need to apply to make us beautiful. Great, I thought, I’m not a girl. Krystal then proceeded to lecturing me about the things I need to use to improve and brighten my skin. I didn't want to be rude even if I’m not interested, so I just let her ramble on. I’ve long accepted that I’m not pretty. By the time we’ve finished eating our breakfast which was again served by a housekeeper who barely looked at our faces, it was almost time for the first class to begin.
Immediately, we headed down to the first floor where Class B's room is. Just about right, we met with the class adviser before reaching the door. Krystal quickly headed inside while my new adviser Mr. Ryu Minjoon, asked me politely to stay a little bit longer outside so he could first orient my classmates-to-be about my transfer. What I have to do then is to just patiently wait for his hand gesture before coming in and introducing myself. I couldn't help but mentally sigh at the instruction. This is what I hate most about first days. Introductions.
As I was silently preparing myself outside, a boy who is taller than me came past me with his bag slung on his shoulder. I saw him went straight to the seat at the back most corner of room, right beside the window. I stared at his face and immediately knew who it was. Kai. So, he’s my classmate. I didn't have time to ponder much about it, because at that moment, Mr. Ryu signalled for me to come in.
I walked in with my back erect to look more confident, and faced the class. They were all looking at me, with the exception of Kai who appeared more interested on the view outside the window. I ignored this and just proceeded with my introduction.
“Annyeong Haseyo, Lee Mi Yeon imnida, (Hello, I'm Lee Mi Yeon)” I said after taking a deep bow and letting out a deep breath. “I’m 17, and still undetermined. I hope to be friends with you all. Thank you.”
The class clapped their hands gently. Mr. Ryu pointed me to my seat. It was at the right most corner, beside the window, and second row to the last. It didn't take a second for me to mentally note that it's the seat in front of Kai.
I don’t know why but it made me nervous enough for my heart to palpitate. He’s not even doing anything to me and I’m already afraid. I must be crazy.
I headed to my seat with my head bowed down. Kai was still looking outside the window and not taking any notice of me. The seat next to me remains vacant and I wonder if that person is just absent or if I don’t really have a seatmate. I saw Krystal at the opposite lane, a row ahead of me. She winked at me and gave me the thumbs up.
Just before I was completely settled, Mr. Ryu called my attention again and asked me to go to the headmaster’s office. He said it was just for formalities. He told me the exact direction and I soon found myself out of the door.
I walked through silent corridors until I reached the fourth floor. Then, I turned to the left, continued walking, until I found a spiral staircase leading to the tower where the headmaster’s office is. I slowly made my way up. Upon reaching the end of the staircase, I was soon faced with an elegant door bearing the crest of the Seijira Academy. I took notice of the two angel statues guarding the door: one was holding a bow and arrow and the other, wielding a sword. I walked forward and was soon in-between the two statues.
I knocked three times and then the door immediately flew open.
A bit startled, I walked in, sure that someone opened the door for me, but there was none. However, I can just see the back of a guy who was talking to the headmaster at the far end of the circular office. That guy suddenly turned his head to look at me and then quickly looked back to the headmaster. It didn’t even last a second but my heart beat quickened.
His face. He is so handsome that it is almost ridiculous. His golden brown hair is tousled and damn y. If Suho was an angel, this guy is the archangel. Seriously, why are the students here all so good-looking??!!!
I was so dazed that it took me a while to notice that the walls of the room were completely lined up with books. I looked up, wanting to check out where the line ends, but it only got me wondering how exactly anyone could even take the books placed up there. I couldn’t even see the ceiling. The only wall that isn’t covered with books is the one behind the headmaster’s table. Instead, it was covered with frames of old headmasters and some certificates. The room almost looked like a library but the aura is completely different. This place has some sort of ancient magic, I can tell.
Soon, the guy bowed down and turned his back on the headmaster. I walked slowly forward as he did so. He was just looking straight ahead but then, he suddenly stopped for a while when we were almost side by side. The nervousness that came out of nowhere stopped my breathing. He looked at me with his light brown eyes. I got the guts t
