Friends?

The Second Hand Kiss
(Hoon's POV;)
I stood there, afraid to move, afraid to speak.
Everyone introduced themselves to Chae Soo except me.
"Hoon, introduce yourself." Kevin smiled.
I ruffled my hair as I looked down.
As I stepped towards her, she flinched gently.
"H-Hoon." She whispered.
I held out my hand, motioning her to place her palm on it.

(Chae Soo's POV;)
I stared at his hand in disbelief.
"What is he doing?" I asked myself in my head.
Hesitantly, I placed my palm over his hand, and shook it.
"He-Hello, Hoon." I said, calmly as possible.
"How do you know his name already?" Kevin asked.

(Hoon's POV;)
My heart felt like it just dropped. As I let go of her hand, I looked down, to avoid facing everyone as she's about to tell them what I do to her.
"Well, you said his name just awhile ago, didn't you?" She said.
I looked at her widely.
She smiled at me, and looked at Jaeseop, who had sorry eyes.

(Chae Soo's POV;)
It got quiet, and only the sound of silence was heard.
"Well, should we pick out a movie, now?" Kevin broke the silence.
"Ah, we should!" Jaeseop chuckled nervously.
We all turned around and began walking towards the entrance of the cinema.
"Hey! I brought the money!" A very familiar voice called out.
We all turned around, seeing Mr. Lee, holding a twenty dollar bill in his hands.
I looked at him in disbelief, what was he doing here?
He was wearing black skinny jeans, a blue sweater, and shirt with a graphic design on it.
Looking at him was awkward, because he usually looks handsome, mature, and cool as a teacher, but seeing him dress this way is a bit odd.
He stopped, and looked at me widely.
"C-Chae Soo?" He let out.
"Hello, Mr. Lee." I bowed at a 90 degree angle.
"What are you doing here?" He asked. "Shouldn't you be studying?" He said, rubbing the back of his head.
Jaeseop looked at us both, and raised his eyebrows.
"You two know each other?" He asked.
Mr. Lee was still distanced between us, so he walked to us, and ruffled his hair nervously.
"He's my teacher." I bluntly let out.
"How do you know Chae Soo?" Mr. Lee asked Jaeseop.
"She's my childhood friend." He smiled.
"Really? That's interesting!" He smiled.
"We should go inside now." Hoon said.
We all looked at him and nodded.
As we walked in, we grabbed some snacks, and went into the theatre to watch.. A scary movie.
"Chae Soo, let's sit together! Ne?" Kevin shouted my name.
"Yah, be quiet!" A couple scolded Kevin.
"I'm sorry." Kevin quickly bowed, and sat down.
I laughed, and sat in any seat. It was dark so I couldn't see who I was sitting with.
The screen , and I looked to my right to see who I was sitting with.
My eyes widened as I saw Hoon sitting right next to me with a big tub of popcorn in his hands.
"C-Chae Soo?" He said.
"U-uh, I think I'll sit somewhere else." I said as I stood up.
Suddenly I felt a grasp on my arm.
I looked down, and Hoon was holding me back.
"It's fine, just sit here." He said.
I nodded, and sat down.
The trailers started playing, and all Hoon's attention went on the screen.
I stared at him as he was so interested, even if it was only movie trailers.
"He's actually pretty cute." I thought.
Suddenly, I giggled out loud, thinking of my thoughts.
He quickly looked at me, and gave me a 'what'? face.
"S-sorry." I blushed and looked down.
He did a half smile, and chuckled a bit.
After the movie was over, we all started walking back home.
"I'll walk you home, Alright?" Jaeseop said as he wrapped his arm around mine.
"But Hyung! You said we would have a shot of Soju together!" Eli whined at Jaeseop.
Jaeseop ruffled his hair in frustration, and nodded.
"That's right." He sighed.
He looked at Hoon, and smiled widely.
"Hoon, can you take Chae Soo home?" He asked.
"Aniyo, Aniyo! It's alright I can walk by my-"
"Sure, I'll be glad to." He interrupted my sentence.
"That's just great." I said in my head, knowing he would probably beat me.

Hoon immediately started walking, so I followed him as we walked away from Jaeseop and the others.
I sighed silently as I looked at my feet.
The walk was really quiet, not even the sound of us breathing was heard.
I cleared my throat, and looked at the now darkened sky.
"Oh, I was supposed to go home right away! Mom will surely be upset." I said in my head.
I looked at Hoon, and he was looking down.
"Hoon." I let out.
He looked at me, and a grin creeped on his face.
"You don't have to walk me home." He said.
"I want to." He said. "also, I have something to say."
He stopped, and faced me.
He inhaled, and exhaled deeply.
"What is it?" I asked, feeling a bit scared.
"If you promise not to tell Jaeseop and my friends that I beat you, I promise to stop." He said.
My eyes widened as I looked at him in disbelief.
"Doesn't everyone know you beat me?" I asked.
He rubbed his neck and shook his head.
"Not them, they're my best friends, and if they found out I've been abusing someone, I'd lose them." He said. "more importantly if they knew it was you I was beating."
I looked at him widely, in shock, that he was practically begging me to keep this a secret.
I looked down, and sighed.
"Alright, Call." I said.
His face brightened up, and he came up to me.
I gasped a little as he stopped.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm not going to hurt you anymore." He said as he gently embraced me.
My eyes again widened as his arms were wrapped around my waist.
This was a weird position, and probably the gentlest thing he's ever done.
He let go of me, and smiled widely.
"I'm so glad you can do this for me, after all I've done to you." He said as he rubbed his neck.
"S-sure." I let out.
I looked at my feet again, and sighed.
"So, can we start over?" He blurted out.
I looked at him, confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Can we-" He said. "be friends?"
I silently sighed and bit my lip.
I wasn't really sure to be his friend, even after all the pain he's put me through.
"Hoon, we can't just be friends just like that." I said.
"Why not?" His eyes started to widen with anger.
"After all, you've been beating me for two years." I said.
He came closer to me, giving me a glare.
"Hey!" Kiseop's voice appeared.
I turned to my right, and saw Kissop walking towards us.
"Oh, Kiseop!" Hoon's anger immediately disappeared.
"Did I interrupt anything?" Kiseop joked.
"Not really." I nervously smiled.
"Oh, Jaeseop wanted you to come to the bar. I can't go because I gotta get up early for work tomorrow." He said.
"Really?" He said.
"Yes, they're having a drinking game right now, and I'm pretty sure Jaeseop will pass out or puke in public." He said.
"Aish! I better go! Chae Soo, let's talk later." He said as he started quickly running in the direction Kiseop came from.
"I guess I'm walking home alone." I sighed as I turned around, forgetting Kiseop was standing there.
"Yah, I'll walk you home." Kiseop chuckled.
My face brightened as I smiled widely.
"Really?" I said as I clapped my hands and stomped my feet like a child.
He looked at me weirdly.
I quickly looked down to hide my embarrassment.
He chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"W-wae?" I let out.
"You're.. Cute." He smiled.
I looked at him widely, wondering why he just called me cute.
We went walking forward, and the walk grew quiet.
I always never know what I say, so I always remain silent.
"This is weird, isn't it?" Kiseop let out.
"What is?" I asked.
"Having your teacher to walk you back home." He said.
I looked at him, and realized I totally forgot about him being my teacher, and was staring at him as if he was a teenager; like me.
"Y-yeah, but it isn't crazy." I said.
He only chuckled, and looked down as we strolled.
After a while, we got to my place.
I looked at my moms room's light, and it was still on, that probably meant she was waiting for me to arrive.
I tensely stared at my house as I slowly started walking towards the steps.
"T-thanks, Mr. Lee." I bowed, and waved as I walked up my steps.
"Wait!" He let out.
I slowly turned around, and looked at him, confused.
My eyes began to wander around his body, and I couldn't help but to notice how muscular Mr. Lee was.
A bright shade of red crept on my face as I stared at his body.
I shook my bangs, and stopped thinking about how strong he was, of if his muscles were hard or squishy.
"What is it?" I managed to ask.
"If you're friends with Jaeseop, you do know that automatically makes you my friend as well." He smiled.
"W-what?" I stared at him widely.
"Chae Soo? Are you out there?" I heard my mom call from inside the house.
I quickly turned around facing my house.
"Yeah, I'll be coming in now!" I called out.
I turned to Kiseop, and nervously bit my lip.
"I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow." I bowed once more.
"Alright." He smiled and waved.
I quickly walked into my house, took off my shoes and walked past the hallway, going to my room.
"Useless child." I heard my mom.
I quickly turned around, and faced my mom.
"I'm sorry for not coming home early." I bowed.
"I don't want to hear it." She said as she slapped my face straight across.
I gasped, and leaned my head down, panting.
"If you dare to do such a thing again, you'll get punished." She finished her sentence, and walked towards the exit of my room.
"Study, then go to bed." She said as she left my room, closing the door.
I sighed softly as I fell to the floor, beginning to cry.
Hoon wasn't the only one who made my life hard.
My mom as well, always abused me.
Every time I made a mistake, or disobeyed her, she would roughly punish me.
I took a deep breath, and stood up, grabbed my text books, and sat on my desk.
I opened my history book, and began studying for the rest of the night.
