Chapter 3: Walk to Remember

Don't Forget Yesterday

I don't know if people are still even using this, or the same people who read this before is still subscribed and waiting. But I'm back from a 4 year hiatus of this story (call me old Shinee lmao). But this is me trying to add on to a story that I completely forgot about but found it interesting enough to want to try and continue. Please give this story a lot of love and support!

It was 5am when I stepped outside of my guest room. I hadn't been able to get a good nights rest for days, and nightmares still haunted my thoughts about Hoya. It startled me when I realized I wasn't the only one awake. I could hear the sizzling of a pan on a stove coming from the kitchen. Dongwoo was there, standing over an open flame with a spatula in hand. Hearing my footsteps, he turned with a plain expression across his face.

"Couldn't sleep either?" he asked grinning a bit through the hurt.

"How'd you know? Did my eye bags give it away?" I asked while helping him crack eggs.

Dongwoo strugged while flipping the leftover food in the pan. "None of the members could sleep except of course Hoya".

My words couldn't quite come out right while I thought of Hoya. "He really doesn't know who I am Dongwoo...he even called me his best friend."

"Yah, don't be stealing my role" he joked while giving me a slight nudge.

In that moment Hoya walked out, seeing the two fight over the stove. "You both are up so early cooking?" Hoya asked a bit suspicious.

"What's your reason for being up?" Dongwoo spat back playfully.

"Something just told me to get up" he laughed. I couldn't help but remember that Hoya would always wake up early to go running around the neighborhood. When she was home, he'd always wake her up on the weekend to go running. Of course I wasn't much of a morning person, so he would pout and push me until I got up and dressed to run.

///

"Come on, it's good for you" he laughed while pulling at my arm. I covered my face with my pillow, and pulled the blanket over my body. Stubbornly, he kept on pulling the sheets right off. Curse his strength.

"Yah~" he then proceeded to call my name while giving me light slaps to the face. "Get up and run with me~ the least you could do is that" he said laughing. He couldn't help but let chuckles escape from his mouth as I struggled under his hands.

"I don't get to see you at all~ You have work and school, and I have practice everyday" he said pouting once more on purpose to make me feel bad. Initially I gave in. At the time I always was grumpy and annoyed that he would force me up, but now I realized how much I missed those morning runs.

///

"Hoya, let's go for a walk" I said instantly without thinking. Hoya raised an eyebrow a little confused since it was unexpected. He even glanced at Dongwoo in hopes of an explanation.

"You two always go on morning runs and walks" Dongwoo clarifyed while looking back at me. He knew well that I was thinking the same thing.

"Oh...well what about Dongwoo...he can't be left alone to cook breakfast for all eight of us..." Hoya said almost getting up to help.

"Ani!" Dongwoo said outloud, then lowering his voice once he realized how loud he became. "I mean, you should keep your daily routine...you want to do everything you normally do so that you can regain your memory faster" he explained. Quick thinking Dongwoo.

A change of clothes later, Hoya and I exited from the dorms, walking against the road through the neighborhood. He hadn't really said much to me...well I wasn't sure if he really even knew what to say to me. I wanted to tell him everything and tell him what I meant to him...but it all seemed too soon.

"We're really close, you and I" he exclaimed out of nowhere.

"Huh?" I was startled. "What do you mean". Had he finally regained some memory?

He pondered while looking at me then back at the front of the road. "Seeing that we take time of our daily lives to hang out, I'm assuming we're close".

"We are" I finally managed to say. "We met a little before you became a part of Infinite...and ever since we've been inseperatable".

"So like twins..."

I almost smacked my forehead, he wasn't getting what I meant. "Not really but-"

"Oh! That looks familiar!" he shouted in excitment while running ahead.

"Wait Howon!" he turned hearing his real name.

"I don't remember...but that is my name, correct?" he asked before pointing out the familiar object.

"Ye...Lee Howon...now show me what helped you remember" I asked a bit stunned.

He extended his finger to point to a sign with neon writing and white displayed maniquins. It was a jewelry store.

"I feel like I've seen this..." he trailed off as he stared through the glass window.

"Oh! This" he said in amazement while pointing towards the display...it was a ring.

"It looks like the one I have" he said bringing up his left hand. Sure enough, it was still there. I almost cried seeing that he hadn't taken his off. Hiding my own hand from his eyes, I didn't know whether to slide mine off and store it away, or leave it in hopes he connected the dots.

That day, we returned from a long walk, but with no memory recovered.

A/N: Aishhhh I want her to tell him so bad. But wouldn't that ruin the plot? Idk lol. Let me know how you feel!! Sorry it's a little short :(
