I'm from Hong Kong and there's a lot of focus on staying slim over there. When you walk down the street, literally every drugstore is selling some kind of slimming pill. That's where I got the inspiration for the story, about how destructive a fixation on weight loss can be if it isn't done healthily, and how much of a needlessly dangerous situation it can be. <br />
