EP1: Luhan

Just Answer Me 2014

“Are you okay?”

“I…huh?”

“You’re bleeding!”

“I…you…what?”

“Your left forefinger is bleeding!”

“I...I...f**k! Not again!”

“I think it’s better if you put those scissors down before you hurt someone else.”

Luhan slowly lowered his right arm, bent his knees and threw the scissors on the floor like a robber surrendering his gun after being caught and surrounded by policemen.

He felt a surge of blood travelling from his upper body down to his fingers, but he didn’t know if this sudden blood rush came from being in too much pain or joy right now, despite having a severe cut on his forefinger versus his ecstasy of being able to hold a more than 10 second conversation with an adorable baozi-faced male with sharp eyes and puffy cheeks.

“Where’s your first aid kit? That wound should be taken care of immediately.” His baozi-faced angel asked worriedly, looking around the small flower store, his eyes dashing from corner to corner to find any box-shaped compartment with a red cross on it.

Still out of it, Luhan remained speechless and continued to stare in awe at the guy’s baby face, which was now frowning slightly, an act which made him scream internally, because cute. He tried his best to keep himself from smiling from ear to ear, as he thanked the Gods for his good fortune even only after a few weeks when he opened a flower arrangement / shop business with his cousin, Tao.

“Seriously, you’re spacing out! Are you sure you’re okay?! You should really clean that wound soon.”

“I…I…I’m okay. Don’t worry.” Luhan blurted out, not wanting to burden his crush too much with his clumsiness (more like absentminded-ness) anymore. He remembered freaking out after seeing him come inside the shop earlier while he was t roses, and by freaking out it meant Luhan being transferred to another dimension with duller sensory skills, which resulted to him missing the flower stem an inch and cutting the finger holding it instead.

This clumsiness was definitely not really new if you knew Luhan, because if you would ask Tao for example, he would say that Luhan-hyung spaces out a lot, especially if he sees something he finds adorable. Unfortunately, he daydreams all the time, engrossed in his own fantasies to notice anything else if his object of affection is within his arm’s reach. Even now, Luhan didn’t even notice that adorable guy already found his first aid kit under the cashier table, brought it beside him and began disinfecting his hand with antiseptic.

“Here, give me your hand.”

But when it came to their skinship, one could say that Luhan was very attentive. The minute their hands touched, (when said guy began pouring antiseptic, cleaning his bloody finger), he began recording every moment of their contact. Actually, as all of you know, the normal reaction when an antiseptic had been poured on your wounded skin would be to yelp in pain but surprisingly Luhan seemed numb to whatever pain his body should be feeling right now. He most definitely enjoyed when said cutie pie looked at him, shocked by his lack of reaction, but sighed in relief afterwards, as he continued to wrap his wound with a clean bandage. Luhan also noticed that the guy finished bandaging him after 6 attempts of carefully fixing it, which he found extremely cute and endearing.

“All done. Are you feeling better?”

Luhan could only nod and smile in return.

The guy put back the kit on his cashier table, and then went back to him with a worried look on his face. He noticed that the guy’s lips parted, as if wanting to say something as Luhan looked at him expectantly,  before bowing his head a little then turning around and walking towards the door, and then walking back in front of Luhan again, then back to door and towards him again.

At the 6th turn around, the guy stopped walking and inquired with a hesitant smile, “Actually, I was the one who called in last night? Do you think you can still arrange those flowers I ordered?”

“Oh” Luhan’s heart sank. He didn’t want to disappoint him.

“Kim Minseok’s rush order? Do you remember?” Minseok asked hesitantly.

Luhan looked at his bandaged finger and sighed. Even if he tried to, he wouldn’t be able to make a good arrangement right now.

“I’m very, very sorry, but I can’t. Not with these hands.”

“Uhh..I guess it can’t be helped. Please take care of your hand. I’ll be going then.” Minseok pursed his lips before looking away.

Luhan caught the disappointment on his face, so when he saw him turn and walk out the door, he made a sudden decision that may cause extreme pain to his sorry later when Tao finds out.

“Minseok-sshi!” Luhan called out as he rushed outside the door carrying a basket of pink roses.

“I got a spare arrangement unclaimed earlier. You can keep it.”

With the smile Minseok gave him as he received the basket, Luhan thought that if he should get wushu-ed to death later by Tao, he probably wouldn’t regret anything at all.
