Chapter 5: Yes, no or maybe?

‘So, I think it’s time for me to ask you. Do you want to be my girlfriend?’ Yesung asked

_____’s POV

I froze. I didn’t move or blink at all, I thought we were just friends and this is my second day of school and he just asked me out. I was blank; I didn’t know what to say.

‘So, what is it? Yes or no? Maybe? What?’ He asked

‘Uh- Well, This is my second day of school and, I don’t know, this is a little weird for me.’ I said

‘Well, I know. Look, I really want you. Okay, well. Tell me the answer tomorrow. I’ll be waiting.’ Yesung said

He walked away. I watched him leave. I walked home and went to my room. I felt like going to the park, I went down and asked my mum. She said ‘Yes.’; I rode my bike and rode it to the park. I sat down the bench and looked at the trees around me.

‘I really need to chill.’ I said as I looked up the sky

‘Hey.’ A voice said

I looked at down, it was Kyuhyun. Our new student. He sat down the bench with me and asked me what’s wrong.

‘What’s wrong?’ He asked

‘Nothing. I- it’s nothing.’ I stuttered

‘You look sad.’ Kyuhyun said

‘No I don’t! I just- well, no. I’m fine.’ I said

‘You sure?’ He asked

‘Yeah, I’m sure.’ I said

‘So, I saw you and Yesung walking home together. Are you guys going out or something?’ Kyuhyun asked

‘No! We are not going out. He’s not my- you know. I’m not interested, trust me! Anyway, I wonder what will happen tomorrow. I lost my friend, Sungmin and I don’t feel like hanging out Yesung. Oh.’ I said as I looked down

Kyuhyun put his arms around my shoulders. I felt comfortable; he made me laugh and smile.

‘Well, I have no one to hang with to so, you can.’ He said

‘Really? Thanks.’ I said

He started telling me some jokes. I laughed at all of them. Then, it was time for me to leave.

‘Well, I gotta go. I’ll see yah tomorrow a school.’ I said as I hugged him

I hugged him and thanked him for making me feel comfortable. When I hugged him, it made me smile. I let go. He waved at me as I left. I rode my bike and went home. I had nothing to do so I went up to my room and looked through the window; I looked around and saw Yesung outside his house.

‘Oh, I didn’t know he lives near me. Oh well.’ I said

Narrator:
It was getting late. _____ went to sleep.

The next day...

_____ woke up. She took a shower and had breakfast. She grabbed her bag, went outside and walked to school.

‘Bye mum.’ _____ said as I left

A few seconds later, _____ heard someone saying...

‘Hey, wait up!’ A voice said

_____’s POV

I thought it was Yesung but then I looked back and saw Kyuhyun. I stopped and waited for him, then we walked together straight our class. The bell rang, everyone came in then Mr. Jack told us what we were going to do.

‘Okay, well. We have cooking in about thirty minutes and we have nothing to do, so. You guys can have free time. You guys can either use your laptops or you can just chat with your friends.’ Mr. Jack said

I looked back and talked to Kyuhyun. He told me some of his jokes and they were really funny. It was time to go to Cooking class; Mr. Jack said that it was in room 15. Everyone walked out of the classroom and walked straight to room 15. I sat in the front row next to Kyuhyun.

‘Okay, welcome and I am Mr. Hyun. You guys will not need a partner for this activity. I will be selling these on the canteen. We are not making the cupcakes, I have already baked some and they are here on the table. You guys will need to decorate your own cupcake and when you are done you will give it to me. Now, come here and get a cupcake and then you may start decorating.’ Mr. Hyun said

I went to the table and grabbed a cupcake. I looked for stuff that I will put on it. I took the sea shells sugar toppers, surfboard sugar toppers and the hibiscus sugar toppers. I put the hibiscus on the middle, the surfboard on the left, sea shells on the left and then put some blue frosting on the top and bottom. I finished and gave it to Mr. Hyun.

‘Wow I like it. Great job!’ Mr. Hyun said

Narrator:

The bell rang, it was recess. _____ and Kyuhyun walked straight to the garden. They sat down on the bench and talked.

‘So, did you finish decorating your cupcake?’ _____ asked

‘Yeah. Hey, look. Is that Sungmin?’ Kyuhyun asked as he pointed at him

‘Yeah, that’s him! Why is he bullying that kid? I thought he was- He’s my friend. Why is he like that? ‘_____ said as she started to cry

‘Oh, don’t cry. Look, he’ll change someday and he’ll come back to you.’ Kyuhyun said

Kyuhyun hugged _____. He did everything he could to make _____ laugh but it didn’t work.

‘Look, thanks for trying to make me laugh. It’s just that- He was so nice to me but then when he started hanging out with Leeteuk, Donghae and Eunhyuk. H- He changed.’ _____ said

Kyuhyun’s POV

She’s crying. I did everything I could just to make her laugh but it didn’t work. I hugged her again and started singing to her.

‘Well, I’m not sure if this’ll work. Uh, I sang this to my girlfriend when she was feeling sad and it made her smile. I wish this will work.’ Kyuhyun said

‘Yeah?’ _____ asked

‘Ahem, okay. You got the smile that only heaven can make. I’ll pray to God everyday that you keep that smile. You are my dream, there’s not a thing I won’t do. I’ll give up my life for you because you are my dream. And, baby, everything that I have is yours; you will never go cold or hungry. I’ll be there when you’re insecure let you know that you’re always lovely. Because you are the only thing that I got right now.’ Kyuhyun sang

‘Kyuhyun, that’s so sweet!’ _____ said as she smiled

‘Yeah, I know.’ Kyuhyun said

_____’s POV

Kyuhyun sang a song for me just to make me smile. That is so sweet! No one has ever done this to me before. I hugged him so tight.

‘Thanks for making me smile and for everything.’ I said

‘It’s no big deal.’ Kyuhyun said

Yesung’s POV

I was walking around then I saw Kyuhyun hugging _____. How dare him! I have true feelings for _____, I can’t stop thinking about her. I love alright and I want her to be mine.

‘I- This can’t be happening. So, _____ rejected me because of him?’ Yesung shouted
