Eleventh Night

Wolves

A whole year had passed since the Wolf clan had completely disappeared. Remembering back to what my father had said days ago, the twelve young men had split apart and become a member of each of our twelve clans. Strangely, it made me happy to hear that.
I didn't remember the last time we had gotten a new clan member, but it felt wonderful to hear. It was something refreshing to think about.
Quickly, I picked up the basket of folded tapestry lying beside my chair and ran to my mother's tent to put it away. On the way, I bumped into a man, dropping the basket on the ground on my way down.
"Sorry!" I hurriedly picked up the dirtied cloths, shoving them into the basket. The man I had bumped into bent down to help me pick them up.
"No, it was my fault." A deep, yet childlike, voice reassured me. It sounded quite familiar, but I wasn't sure where I had heard it before. I turned around to look at who was helping me, only to find that he looked quite young. The oddest thing was that I had never seen him before either. He looked up at me, surprised to see me staring. "Yes?"
"Ah..." I looked away then back at him. "Nothing. You just look familiar."
"Oh," He grinned with a small laugh. "By the way, my name is Chanyeol. I was a part of the Wolf clan, but since we split up, I moved here. What about you?"
"My name is Nou. I am the Unity clan Chieftan's daughter."
Just the sound of his name made my mind jolt with a strange feeling.
Chanyeol handed me the tapestry with a smile like a child. "Would you like some help with that?" I looked into his eyes as he spoke to me, brown as the bark on a tree. His short, black hair showed his wide forehead.
Rather than refusing, I accepted his offer. "That would be very kind of you." It seemed like we had known each other for a very long time and we were just meeting each other in a brand new way.
Laughing at my own crazy thoughts, I pushed it away and took the tapestry from his hand. "Thank you for helping me."
Chanyeol put his hands to his waist. "It's my pleasure, Nou."
A grin spread widely across my face as he said my name. Something about the way he spoke to me made my heart beat faster.

Maybe we had known each other in my last life time?
