Spontaneous out-of-country trips, a street orchestra, a white blue-eyed cub for a pet, a whole room filled with pink and white stargazers, stargazing at two am just to see Saturn – the list goes on, Soojung was afraid.

Every single year, Chanyeol never failed to ‘go way overboard’ his girlfriend's expectations of a birthday present. And by golly, this year, he did it again. In fact, more than he has ever shocked the wits out of her.

"WHAT THE ACTUAL , PARK CHANYEOL! DID YOU JUST BUY A-"

But perhaps we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's back up a few hours.

At the countertop, the toaster ding-ed, and simultaneously with it, their awesome coffee maker started singing The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song by The Flaming Lips. But what captured Chanyeol's attention – what made his head snap towards its direction – was the bedroom door, with the slightest creak it produced. When he became certain that the one responsible for the sound at that moment was not the apartment ghost that he’s been warned about; and instead, was his girlfriend whom he has been anticipating to come out for breakfast, he smiled and sighed in relief. His happiness and relief were cut short when Krystal suddenly hit her head as she opened the door. Chanyeol let out a low chuckle when he saw her palming her forehead to try to soothe the sting, as she muttered 'stupid' to herself. Suddenly, there's a glint in her eye, a sheepish expression on her face as she looked like she had just stifled a laugh.

Cute. Chanyeol noted, before glancing at their personalized calendar on the wall.

October 24th.

Chanyeol was happy and excited about spending the entire day with her on her special day. He returned his gaze at Soojung and there she was, arm-stretching her way into the dining room with a little yawn. Chanyeol was even happier to notice her rather nice mood. He assumed that she had remembered her birthday this time (as opposed to last year when it became a little awkward during the surprise party for her when she asked what the occasion was). Personally, being able to make her remember her birthday was an achievement to him because it served as a sign that he was able to get through to her and lessen her self-destructive workaholic tendencies. She even sleeps and eats at the right time now, he noted proudly in hi
