That Girl Is A Problem
26th November
Gritting her teeth through the burning throb, the blonde clambered to her feet. Deep scowl between her brows, narrowed eyes surrounded in black shot to her sparring partner. The first year who had been monitoring the match tried to cut in before the inevitable situation could escalate. All that came from the moderator was a stutter. "B-bow to your partner." He held his hands up but didn't dare to take a step forward to intervene personally.
Ripping back the Velcro straps off the padded grappling gloves, the female who had been attacked pulled the protective gear off and threw them on the cushioned mat in rage. "Do you wanna die?" She barked, her rough voice causing those surrounding her to grimace. Shoulders up and her face twisted, the woman advanced for her partner. “You can’t beat me fair and square, so you resort to underhanded tactics? I don’t think s-” She was cut off by a scoff.
The woman's sparring partner held his hands up facetiously as he smirked. "Is that any way to speak to your superior, InHyeonnie?" Those who had been pretending to not stare couldn't hold back any more.
Eye twitching at the blatant disrespect, the female lunged at her senior. Before her infamous left swing could do much damage, the blonde was taken off of her feet by a set of arms wrapping around her ribs, under her bust. Swung around and away from her torment, the woman kicked and flailed at the intervention. Yelling like a demented person, the blonde thrashed in an attempt to at least cause some bruising.
ChanYeol scrunched his face to avoid being smacked as he waddled away with the older woman in his grip. "Noona, sto-Agh!" The man's words were cut short by a forearm slapping him in the eye.
Shrugging herself free from the loosened grip, InHyeon growled through her panting. "No mitts, let's go - right now!" She pointed, shaking with agitation, at the man who'd laid a move on her.
"Take a time out, Kim Ssi." The clear voice of their just-then returned Captain instructed the irate woman.
Rubbing his reddened eye with one hand, ChanYeol pinched his friend's dobok sleeve and gave a tug to get her attention. Whimpering with his face still wrinkled, ChanYeol gave a pitiful look. "I have something to tell you."
Giving in to the man rubbing his face like a child, InHyeon spared a final glare to her attacker before turning her back and walking away. Shaking off the hold once they were away from her ‘partner’, the blonde swallowed down her rage and threw her hands out. "You're pregnant?" The female deadpan as she snatched her sports bag off the floor. Without waiting, she marched out of the gym with her friend in tow.
Forgetting all about the injury, the man barely a head taller than the odd female started laughing. Venturing across the thick snow blanketing the grass of the field, the pair made for a small brick shed which was used for storing sports equipment. ChanYeol took two envelopes from his jeans pocket and held up the white and teal envelopes. "We both got picked for the Development Program."
InHyeon peered up at her friend with an unlit cigarette hanging from her lips. The colour drained from her face and the pit of her stomach churned at the thought.
Pouting at the sight of her bad habit, ChanYeol relayed the news he'd been told when they came to the small overhanging roof. "I heard JunMyeon Hyung was selected, too."
Sparking her vice and letting her head hit the damp brick wall behind her, the female exhaled a scoff of smoke and sarcasm. "What a party this'll be if that’s the case."
"I wish you wouldn't worry so much." The younger, yet taller male frowned. "Don't you know getting stressed makes you sick?"
Clicking her tongue off of her teeth, the blonde turned her face away. "What can I do when idiots like you and him are my biggest problem."
"I wish you'd smile more, Yeonnie-Yaaah~" Puckering his lips, ChanYeol puffed out his cheeks as he squished the woman's face between his palms.
Smacking his hand away, she turned away from him completely. Left shoulder against the scratchy wall, the woman grumbled. "It may seem fun for you to see Yin and Yang together, but let me tell you now, it's not as nice as everyone is content on thinking it is within our family."
Recoiling from his playful prodding, ChanYeol halted at the word his friend never used unless it was in mockery. Watching the feminine back which wasn't so frail, and definitely not in a submissive hunch, the man straightened up. Taking a step towards the dangerous form, he dropped his chin on top of the white mop. "Aigoo-Yahh~," his rough tone returned upon contact. "Noona is finally allowing me to be a man around her."
Tutting, the blonde weakly jabbed him in the ribs with her elbow. "Is there any wonder why I'm the way I am when I'm surrounded by fools like you?" Patting his hand once, she brought her vice to her lips.
Kim InHyeon was the sister of JeonSang’s number one. Despite being proficient in everything from martial arts to cooking, all she'd ever heard was how she didn't match up to her brother. At an early age, the woman had decided to take her life in the opposite direction for the sake of being her own person. She had quickly become known for her near-constant sarcasm and unladylike behaviour, instead of showing that she had the brains which clearly ran in the family. InHyeon was what people said about her and more; she was crude and intrusive, she was incapable of holding back, and she would never take the left lane in order for somebody to pass her, except for him. The female was purposely stubborn just to irk people, and the fact she was a Third Dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do did nothing to make her seem approachable. And she was fine with that, no matter how many people called it a show. She liked spending time alone.
Still, she had somehow gained a small group of friends who didn’t care about her family pedigree, nor shied away from her explosive temper; most of her regular company didn't have much of a filter, either. Even InHyeon didn’t know how she had managed to find them and stay with them; she gave them the credit. They were just as wacky as her in one way or another. Although, they had one thing they didn't. They had the patience to wear her down, and they made sure to do so.
She just wasn't sure if that would be enough this time.
