“That bastard! How dare he?”

Hyesung barged into his apartment, kicking out his shoes and went straight into the fridge to grab a bottle of cold water. At the

present situation, he really needed something to cool down his burning head. After gulping down the whole bottle, he let out a

deep sigh and threw the empty bottle onto the counter, leaving the kitchen and slumping onto the couch in the living room.

“But … anyway, I did something back to him … finally …”

Hyesung could not help curving his lips upwards even though his rage did not completely subside. After all these holding back and

being helpless, he showed that bastard that he was not a toy anymore and even slapped him.

But why slapping did not sound right in his mind?

Aha. He should have punched him like a man, not slapped like a sissy girl …

Oh my.

Realizing what he had done actually with a clearer mind, his satisfaction a while ago vanished immediately and Hyesung hit his own

head with his fist, of course lightly, for not acting like a man. As far as he remembered Eric’s frightened expression, it looked his

tone and his frustrated expression had worked enough but …

Why had he decided to slap him instead of punching?

He should have grabbed his collar and made a black mark on his handsome face.

Wait. No. Why was he thinking that bastard was handsome?

Not handsome. Just being a little tiny bit more good-looking than average.

Oh. Screw it.

Anyway, it was still better than doing nothing back to him and just listening every insult and tease from Mun Jung Hyuk. At least, he

had made clear that he was not the one to mess up with and he had had enough with all his teasing and bullying.

And …

Oh. .

Hyesung immediately stood up, recalling something he said.

He really had blurted “THAT” out???

Shin Hye Sung. Calm Down. Think again slowly. Perhaps, you had not said it.

“I’m asking you “So What?” … So what? If I’m interested in guys and I read manga, huh? So what if I’m a gay? HUH?”

Gosh.

He was screwed. Totally screwed.

Stupid Shin Hyesung! Brainless Shin Hyesung! You and your loose mouth!

Hyesung fell back onto the couch, hitting his head harder with fists again. Why had he said that out loud that easily?  And he said it

in front of no one else than that Mun Jung Hyuk?

Good. Shin Hyesung. You had given him another thing to play and tease.

Maybe, this time even mocking and discrimination?

He did not have any idea how he had let out his years long top secret that easily in front of his enemy. Well, he had known himself

that he was different from other boys since his high school days. Not having any interest on any girl and liking manga somehow

had helped him realize which direction he had been heading to.

But, since that time, this had been his dark secret that no one knew, even his deceased parents and his friends, except Dongwan.

Even Dongwan had found it out a few years ago by corner-questioning him why he had been refusing any blind date that Dongwan

had set. Thankfully, his close and beloved friend had not judged him and still had not brought that topic again, knowing Hyesung’s

uneasy feelings on it.

During all these years, although realizing his preference, Hyesung had never had any gut to initiate a proper relationship because he

had grown up in an educated and respected environment and he did not think there was anyone who could like him more than

friends. He had been keeping himself buried in studies in his 20s and of course, his daily dose, manga, making himself forgetting

his lonely life. Now, becoming a lecturer in university, he became to know that it was more and more hopeless to find a partner in

his surrounding and he became more afraid to risk his respectable job and reputation.

He knew he was a coward. But he could not help it. He kept covering up his fragile lonely heart with being cheerful and cursing now

and then but actually, all this time, he was desperately hoping someone could save him from all this closeness and darkness he was

suffering alone all these years. Starting from a few years ago, he had started to feel afraid that he would spend his life like that, all

alone and alone.

That may be why he had blurted out hearing Mun Jung Hyuk’s words. His words were like a needle poking the overly-full balloon of

his feelings and frustrations.

Thinking about that bastard, worries crept back into Hyesung’s mind.

What if he told about this to Minwoo?

What if he did something bad and naughty to him again, stepping his weak point?

What if he thought he was disgusting and dirty?

Maybe he should not have slapped him at all. If so, at least, there may be a probability of Mun Jung Hyuk ignoring that fact and at

worst, he would just laugh at him. But, now, he had done something physical to him and what if he wanted to take a revenge on

him knowing his secret?

AHHHHH…..

Hyesung shuffled his precious hair with frustration and let out a deep sigh for the umpteenth time for the day.

Think, Hyesung! Think! How would you deal with Mun Jung Hyuk?

Then, sudden phone ring made Hyesung almost jump from the couch. Taking it out from his pocket, he glanced at the caller ID and a

wide grin appeared on his face seeing who was calling.

“Dongwan-ah!!!”

“Yah! Hyesung-ah! Why are you shouting like a boy getting a call from his girlfriend? It’s just me!”

“I know. I know. But Dongwan-ah… now you’re the answer to my prayers …”

“What? What are you saying, Sung-ah? You’re sure you’re already awake?”

“Just tell me when you’re coming back!”

“Well … I’m taking this evening flight …. So, maybe around midnight?”

“Ok … Ok… No problem … Just meet me at tomorrow lunch time at usual place … I’ve got an urgent case to tell you …”

“Ok … Ok… I don’t know what it is .. but it really sounds like serious …”

“No.. it’s really serious … It’s the most serious thing that you’ve ever faced in these years …”

“Hahahahaha…. Dramatic sungie! Ok ….. See ya!”

“See ya! I’m waiting you!”

Hyesung let out a relieved sigh ending the call. Why had he forgotten his Dongwan? He hated to admit it but Dongwan was always

more logical and sensible than him in finding solutions and making decisions. His beloved best friend would surely help in this time,

too, knowing well about the war between him and Mun Jung Hyuk since high school days.

Right. Hyesung, just wait for tomorrow to meet him.

Hyesung rolled on his bed like the umpteenth time for the night. His whole Saturday had been a disaster and now, he could not even

sleep at all.

That bastard Mun Jung hyuk! Why did he keep popping up in his mind?

Hyesung just could not stop thinking the smirk of that bully while teasing him on his secret although he had found only the surprised

expression on his face at that time, not a single trace of mocking or looking down. Anyway, Mun Jung Hyuk had always been a bully

and finding a way to make him frustrated and Hyesung could not find a better way than this.

Mun Jung Hyuk must be really amused right now …

By the way, since he knew Hyesung’s phone number, he should call him or at least send a message to him to make him annoyed? But,

there was still no call or text from him the whole day.

Maybe he was plotting something now?

Something bigger than annoying him by giving prank calls …

Hyesung got up out of sudden and grabbed his phone on the table, tapping the familiar contact in his phone.  After ringing for a few

seconds, finally, his call was picked up.

“Hyesung-ah! Why are you calling at this time? Like 11 p.m?”

“Sorry, Minwoo-ah! Did I disturb your sleep?”

“Of course! Anyway, spill! You’ve already made me awake ….”

“Well … I just want to know … huuuuhhhh …. Did … did Mun Jung Hyuk … call you

today?”

“Who? Jung Hyuk? Yes … he called me this morning …”

“WHAT? Did … did he tell you something?”

“What do you mean? He just called me to tell that you’d arrived home safely … Just that … What’s wrong?”

“Ah? He told just that? Ah … I see … It’s … It’s nothing … Minwoo-ah … Sorry for disturbing you … Good night!”

“Yah! Shin Hye Sung! What’s between you and Jung Hyuk? You looked strange around him last night …”

“Nah … it’s nothing … We’re ok … Good night, Minwoo-ah!”

Hyesung hanged up quickly, knowing his obvious lies would be unfolded soon by Lee Minwoo if he kept talking.

Thank God! That Mun Jung Hyuk had not still spilled his secret to Minwoo yet.

Maybe he would have enough time to prevent him somehow after meeting Dongwan tomorrow …

Please …

“Dongwan-ah … Here!”

Hyesung happily waved like a child to his friend coming into the café that they usually met. Dongwan flashed his trademark beaming

grin and headed to Hyesung’s table.

“Haha … You’re really missing me that much, Sung-ah? Cute guy!”

Dongwan patted his head, knowing how much that act annoyed Hyesung. But, at once, his face turned serious seeing his friend did

not react at all on his pat and just gave a gesture to sit quickly.

“Wow! This time is really serious, huh?”

“Mun Jung Hyuk is back!”

“What? You mean that “Mun Jung Hyuk”?

“Yeah …”

Hyesung felt sorry not for even letting his friend take a breath after sitting and for just blurting out the problem out of sudden. But

he really needed to let it out of his head because it had bothered him the whole night and he even had not got an hour’s sleep,

waking up with the panda’s eyes this morning.

He recited all happenings while Dongwan had been away, starting from the reunion party and till the yesterday’s morning.

“What? You told him that you are g …. You are that?”

Sensing immediately they were in public, Dongwan changed his vocabulary for Hyesung’s relief but he still could not hide his shocked

expression.

“Yeah …”

Hyesung lowered his head down, understanding what a mess he had made.

“Hyesung-ah … You know you did …”

“I know … I know … Dongwan-ah … I know … That’s why I’m being like this … and … asking you to help …”

Dongwan could do nothing except sighing deeply while looking at his 35-year-old university lecturer dumb best friend who was now

staring at him with pleading looks.

“Well … As far as you told me … I don’t think he’ll do something bad out of it …”

“But … You know what he did to me …. In high school …”

“Hyesung-ah … We’re no more teenage boys who like to tease and bully someone … and since that time, I never thought what he did

was bullying to you … well … sometimes … he went beyond the line … but now we’re all adults … with jobs and social statuses … He

still may tease you out of habit … but I don’t think he would do something despicable like …. blackmailing you or making use of your

secret …”

Hyesung fell silent hearing Dongwan’s words. They somehow made sense to Hyesung but his worries did not just vanish that easily,

of course.

“But … in case … You know I slapped him …”

“So … How about meeting with him and discussing it face to face? Instead of being a worrywart on your own …”

“WHAT? Meeting him?”

“Don’t make that drama queen face again … Hyesung-ah … It’s not like I’m telling you to date him … I’m telling you to just talk with

him … He’s an adult after all … He can’t be that difficult …”

After Dongwan’s one-hour persuasion session, Hyesung had to promise him to contact that bully and talk him in person. Getting back

to his apartment with a heavy heart, Hyesung just kept dragging time to text Mun Jung Hyuk by making many excuses to convince

himself. Contacting that bastard from his side first was still a nightmare for him.

When the night came, he really got tired of himself and decided to act like a man.

Ok. Shin Hye Sung. Just send a testing text. If he doesn’t reply, just let him be and ignore him.

Hyesung picked his hand phone and searched a number in log and started texting.

“I’m Shin Hye Sung.”

Oh. What’s that? He already knew his number.

“I want to meet you.”

Yiiiks. It sounded like he’s asking him out.

“Sleeping?”

AHHHHHH… Why are his texts being like this?

Finally, Hyesung decided to use the most simple and harmless word.

“Hi.”

Good. No emoticons, so no emotions and feelings. Just blunt. That’s what Hyesung wanted.

He hit the send button and threw his phone to the pillow, standing up to grab a glass of water. But as soon as he stood up, the

familiar ringtone appeared and he looked back at the phone with wide eyes.

That fast? No way.

He picked up the phone and immediately opened the message.

“Hey!!! :D :D :D”

OH GOD! He’ll be having a tiring time with Mun Jung Hyuk again …

For subscribers of my new angst fic, although I have time, I decided to start writing that only in December because November is the birthday month of Wannie oppa and our little prince … so I don’t want to post anything that includes Hyesung oppa’s suffering in this month … Forgive me! :D
