Because of You
[Author’s POV]
“Where have you been?” JungAh pretended to be busy. Reading a book & taking notes
“I was on a walk with Uee” Jooyeon lied, approaching the dresser with a bitter expression
“Uee said she’s really busy for today so she couldn’t call you or visit us” JungAh closed the book & glared at Jooyeon
“Now why did you lie? Did you hide something from me? Or Uee?” JungAh kept glaring at Jooyeon, secretly demanding Jooyeon to spill the truth. JungAh saw her earlier, it’s exactly Nana
“..You know I don’t like explaining too much things JungJung” Jooyeon faked a smile
“Hey, days ago you’re as cheerful as a hyper. I know something’s up” JungAh kept persuading the lying girl
“Fine. I was out snack hunting, okay? I spent all of my monthly pocket money & I regretted it” Jooyeon lied
Knowing how stubborn Jooyeon is, JungAh planned something that would make Jooyeon regret herself for lying. For now, JungAh decided to just pretend that she believed what Jooyeon said
-The Next Day-
After class, JungAh told Kahi that she’s planning to tell what she saw last night to Uee. Kahi asked if it’d be too risky & Uee could get hurt so she breaks up with Jooyeon, but JungAh said that she knows Uee isn’t the kind of girl who acts without knowing her own feeling.
“Kahi, you’ll distract Jooyeon for me. Go take her out on a lunch or something” JungAh commanded strictly
“Ma’m, where do I get all the money from? If I ask her out on a lunch, I should be the one treating!” Kahi sighed
“Are you gonna help me or not?” JungAh glared fiercely at Kahi
“What is this a super important mission or something?” Kahi exhaled
“Let me ask this again : are you gonna help Jooyeon & Uee or not?” JungAh cornered Kahi by changing the sentence
Kahi stopped for a second, blinking at her girlfriend. JungAh was always good at persuading peoples
“Fine. Okaaaay I’m gonna help em” Kahi rubbed her nape & checked her wallet
JungAh then kissed her & smiled beautifully at Kahi. Kahi was shocked, & she’s actually blushing
“You’ll get to spend the night with me in return” JungAh seduced Kahi so that Kahi can act like ASAP
“I love you!” Kahi ran to look for Jooyeon like a dumb kid after that. JungAh giggled at her girlfriend’s cuteness
JungAh then took out her cellphone to call Uee
..

..
..
“Yeoboseyo eonni” Uee greeted the call
“Uee are you busy today?” JungAh replied, straight to the point
“N-no.. What’s wrong?” Uee asked back
“I’ll meet you there, we need to talk” JungAh strictly said
“A-about what eonni..?” Uee sounded a bit afraid since JungAh is a senior
“You’ll know soon. See you on the gate” JungAh acted quickly & hung up before Uee could even say anything
JungAh took a bus going for Uee’s college. But in the middle of the way, JungAh received a text message… from Kahi
FROM : 내 사랑
Babe I got her attention :D
She was stubborn at first but…

JungAh chuckled at reading the text. Kahi’s such a ert isn’t she?
Exiting the bus, JungAh smiled when she saw Uee already waiting on the gate. Uee waved at JungAh when she saw JungAh across the sidewalk
JungAh crossed the road & approached Uee
“I’m sorry, did I take long?” JungAh asked with a kind smile
“Not at all eonni. Now what do you wanna talk about?” Uee grinned
“Take me to a comfy place around your college ground” JungAh asked
“H-huh..? Okay..” Uee hesitated a bit but she tried to think positively
Uee took JungAh to the college’s park. A fountain in the middle & benches below shady trees. The two sat on one of the benches
“Uee, there’s something you need to know about Jooyeon..” JungAh start talking
“Really? What is it?” Uee replied with a smile. Thought that it wouldn’t be so serious when it comes to Jooyeon
“I need to warn you that this won’t make you smile” JungAh warned
After JungAh warned, Uee’s cheerful smile disappeared instantly. She felt a fear inside her heart, having a bad feeling about the topic
“D-do I really need to know about this? How important is this something?” Uee asked, a bit afraid of hearing it
“Oh c’mon, what kind of girlfriend doesn’t want to know something about their lover? Even if it’s not the bad ones” JungAh scoffed. She really is an expert lie detector
“I..I guess you’re right eonni..” Uee lowered her head a bit. Prepared herself to be disappointed
“Let me go straight to the topic. Uee, do you know anyone named Im Jin Ah?” JungAh asked carefully
“Im Jin Ah… Do you mean Nana?” Uee asked back
“Wait, you know her?” JungAh was shocked at hearing that
“Well, she’s my bestfriend eonni. What about her? You said you wanna talk about Jooyeonnie” Uee was starting to get impatient to hear what JungAh has to say
“Jooyeon.. Didn’t tell you anything?” While JungAh was starting to doubt if it’s best to tell her the truth about JooNa’s past relationship & her, being the witness who saw Nana driving Jooyeon back to their place last night
Meanwhile….
“Goshhh I’m stuffed……” Jooyeon huffed in the air, tapping her own stomach
“Yeah I’m beat too” Kahi’s half conscious, her head lying on the table because she just drank some soju
“You know it’s no fun to drink soju in daylight. You should drink it at night dummy appa” Jooyeon lightly smacked Kahi’s head
“Bzzyeah…” Kahi raised her head & shook it repeatedly to gain consciousness. She can’t be drunk on a daylight of course, it’d be humiliating
“By the way, it’s rare for you to treat me… Without JungJung-eomma” Jooyeon finally asked what made her curious all the time she’s having lunch with Kahi
“I’m just trying to have fun today!” Kahi regained her consciousness, with a pink nose
“I see..” Jooyeon believed what Kahi said but still.. somewhat she feels uncomfortable. Something’s fishy but she couldn’t tell it
Jooyeon crossed her arms & leaned her head on the chair, exhaling in the air & closing her eyes. Jooyeon accidentally remembered about what happened last night, it was with Nana.. Jooyeon remembered how her heart was beating so fast, the feeling of Nana’s lips, Nana’s skin, Nana’s touch. Somehow it hurts but on the other side Jooyeon missed it—
“Gahh!” Jooyeon quickly jumped up which caused Kahi to have a mini heart attack
“Joo! God you’re scaring me!” Kahi scolded Jooyeon
“S-sorry.. Can we go back?” Jooyeon looks a little uncomfortable & Kahi noticed it. Kahi paid the bill & accompanied Jooyeon going back
Meanwhile back to JungAh-Uee..
“I see…” Uee lowered her head down
“Uee, I’m really sorry..” JungAh caressed Uee’s back
JungAh saw Uee smile & then she starts to laugh weakly, then a drop of tear fell from her eyes
“Uee..” JungAh felt really sorry. Uee must have been deeply hurt by the truth
“Are you going to break up with her?” JungAh asked carefully
“No.. No eonni” Uee tried hard to speak clearly but the sadness inside beats it
“Why?” JungAh asked the reason
“I know.. she’s not gonna tell me the truth any…. Sooner. B-but.. if I keep pretending & keep showing her my.. love, one day she’ll.. regret & realize” It was so hard for Uee to speak. She wants to cry & just cry
“You’re right. I knew you’re a strong girl. I’ll help you making her realize—“
“No. I’ll do it.. Not you eonni…. Let me show her myself” Uee showed her strong resolve which touched JungAh
“Everything will be good at its time” JungAh hugged Uee in a motherly way & caressed Uee’s hair. Hoping for Uee to calm down & accept the truth
