Seungho and Cheondung panted as they danced to the rhythm in the music. They’ve been practicing for the upcoming school competition and they’ve been trying their best. Of course they need to be better than the best, they needed to be perfect.

Once any of them misses one count, the whole dance piece will fail. And they’re both perfectionists so failure is NOT an option. It was NEVER an option to begin with.

As they ended the dance, they both panted. Seungho held onto his knees for support. Cheondung leaned onto the mirror and gulping down a bottle of water.

“We’re still late on count.” Seungho said. Cheondung finished the bottle of water and he looked at Seungho. “I know. The back step ruins the turn. We should change that count.” Cheondung answered. Seungho stood up and took a deep sigh. “I guess so.”

“Let’s go one more round then.” Seungho said. Cheondung took a deep sigh too and stood up. They went to their formation and started dancing.

They were participating in the school’s modern dance competition, open division. Meaning they are to compete with all levels in their school. Group and Solo dancers.

Of course they’re confident about themselves since they’ve won several competitions outside the school and this is the first time that they’re competing in-school. Something about this competition makes them more nervous.

Why?

Everyone is expecting a wonderful performance from them. Even though it’s going to be hard… They still need to do it. They know they can, but they just don’t want the pressure thrown to them.

“Aren’t you tired of practicing yet? Your both gonna collapse if you don’t take a break.” Joon suddenly said that made the two stop dancing. Of course, Joon’s sudden appearance made Cheondung smile and he immediately went to him. Seungho felt a bit hurt but he smiled at them. He wanted to hide the pain he felt.

“We took a breather a while ago. So you don’t have to worry.” Cheondung cutely said to Joon. Joon smiled at him and wiped Cheondung’s sweat on his face with his handkerchief. “A breather isn’t enough. Did you eat yet?” Joon said after wiping Cheondung’s sweat.

“We were fixing the routine so we didn’t notice the time.” Seungho answered. Joon chuckled “Both of you are such perfectionists.” “That’s why we’re best friends since we were kids!” Seungho said proudly. Joon just chuckled and Cheondung held his hand. “Have you eaten yet?” Cheondung asked while giving Joon a really cute smile.

“No that’s why I went here. I knew you two haven’t eaten yet so let’s go eat.” Joon answered. Cheondung gave him a kiss on his cheek. Seungho felt a ping of pain in his chest. “You two go ahead. I need to talk to G.O. about the music. I think we still need to fix the beat.” Seungho said while scratching his head with a finger.

“Okay then. Let’s go!” Cheondung declared and pulled Joon away. Joon was supposed to say something but all he could do was wave at Seungho as Cheondung pulled him away.

Seungho sighed after they left.

He closed his eyes and faced down in defeat.

Since when has he been hiding his feelings from Cheondung? Since when has he been this hopeless?

Since Cheondung and Joon met and became lovers.
