He sighed and the music.

 He looked at his reflection in the mirror and saw Cheondung standing there. This happened every so often that he, himself, felt delusional.

Cheondung’s reflection in the mirror was looking at him and only him. His every move corresponding Seungho’s movements as if they were dancing as one. The rhythm of the music touched Seungho’s body and the lyrics touched his heart.

As the music came to its end, Seungho rested by the mirror. He leaned his back onto it and sighed deeply after panting. He looked at Cheondung’s bag and smiled at it.

Remembering how he and Cheondung met.

Cheondung’s family transferred next to their house and they became friends after knowing that they both loved the same thing, dancing.

He started liking Cheondung because he seemed to be more feminine than masculine whenever they were together. Probably because he lives with his 2 sisters and his mother. But there was something that made Seungho attracted to Cheondung more than anything.

Whenever Cheondung dances, Seungho couldn’t help but be pulled in and watch. Seungho couldn’t stop the erratic beat of his heart whenever Cheondung glances at him while dancing.

Cheondung’s movements made Seungho love him.

But he knew that they can never be together because Cheondung only looks at him as his best friend, nothing more and nothing less.

Cheondung has always leaned on Seungho whatever happens and this is what stops Seungho from confessing. He knows that once he confesses, Cheondung will surely avoid him and eventually step away from his life.

He’s afraid of losing Cheondung.

Even after years of being together their strong bond never loosened, until Joon came in the picture.

Cheondung fell head over heels in love with Joon. It would have been better if Joon didn’t feel the same, but sadly Joon felt the same.

After they met, they dated and soon they became lovers in a relationship. Even their family supported their relationship so who was Seungho to stop it? Who was he to try and break them apart?

He was just Cheondung’s childhood friend who happens to be in love with Cheondung.

“Hey…” someone suddenly nudged Seungho. Seungho opened his eyes, realizing that he fell asleep, and rubbed them. He looked up and saw G.O. looking at him with a worried expression on his face. “Oh… you’re here. Was I out for a long time?” Seungho asked.

G.O. reached for his phone and showed the time to Seungho. Seungho frowned as he looked at the time. 4 hours has passed and Cheondung hasn’t come back yet.

“Did—” Seungho started but he cut himself off when he noticed that Cheondung’s things weren’t there anymore. He sighed in disbelief. “He left when I came.” G.O. said. “Why? We’re supposed to practice.” Seungho said and sighed again. “Well he—” G.O. started but Seungho cut him off by clicking his tongue and throwing the nearest thing he could reach. Without realizing what it is, he threw something and it hit the person who was about to enter.

Mir flinched when something suddenly hit him. He looked ahead and saw Seungho with a death glare while G.O. was also looking at Seungho with a surprised expression. “What are you so hyped up about?” G.O. suddenly asked.

Seungho just clicked his tongue. Mir looked at what Seungho threw to him and sighed. He reached for it and went up to Seungho.

“Hyung… I don’t think Cheondung-hyung would appreciate you throwing this.” Mir said as he showed Seungho Cheondung’s precious towel.

Seungho’s eyes widened when he saw the towel. He immediately stood up and took the towel away from Mir. “Like I was saying, he didn’t want to disturb your sleep so he went out for a bit to buy food for you. He’ll be back.” G.O. explained.

Seungho looked at the towel and his lips curved into a smile. “Aigooo… look at this guy. He’s too possessive of something he doesn’t own.” G.O. teased. Seungho clicked his tongue and shook his head. He sighed and remembered about the music. “Oh, there’s a lost beat in the music. We tried to change the steps but it still didn’t fit in.”

“Oh? Are you sure?” G.O. asked. G.O. is also one of their childhood friends. G.O. and Seungho were born in the same year so they were often called spiritual twins. Although G.O.’s more into mixing and producing music than dancing. Same with Mir. Mir and G.O. got along perfectly and are considered the best of friends which is the same as Seungho and Cheondung. Although they have different s, they all still get along well.

Mir stepped up and asked “which part of it was wrong?” “The part when we’re taking a back step then a turn.” Seungho pointed out. “I’ll show you.” Seungho turned the music on and started dancing. He showed the routine to them. G.O. just staring at him, concentrating. While Mir was nodding his head to the rhythm and almost missed the part that Seungho mentioned.

“Did you see that? The steps doesn’t match the music. Can you do something about it?” Seungho asked. “I could. I’ll just take a look at how many milliseconds I need to take off.” G.O. said. Seungho nodded.

As they talked, they heard Cheondung’s giggles outside. Mir and G.O. immediately looked at Seungho. Seungho just looked away and sighed. The door burst open and revealed Cheondung and Joon holding hands and laughing. Cheondung seems to be teasing Joon and Joon is just making faces.

“Yah! Hyung! You took too long!” Mir suddenly said. “Sorry. We didn’t know what to get you guys so we decided to get real food instead.” Cheondung said. “Real food?” Mir asked. “I asked my mom to cook food for us. She was really happy to.” Joon said as he placed the plastic of food on the floor.

“Well let’s eat then. Seungho-yah, you have to eat. You haven’t eaten for the whole day.” G.O. reprimanded Seungho. He faced them and forced a smile saying “yeah. Ok.” Mir and G.O. exchanged knowing glances and made sure that Seungho will be sitting next to Cheondung.

Seungho noticed it and his eyebrows wrinkled. It’s not that he didn’t want to sit beside Cheondung. But he feels really comfortable that he usually takes care of Cheondung. Of course he doesn’t want Joon to misunderstand him and cause a fight between Cheondung and him.

He sighed and tapped G.O.’s shoulder so he’d move next to Cheondung but G.O. pretended not to notice him. Cheondung noticed that Seungho didn’t want to sit with him and he wrinkled his forehead. “Do I smell or something?” he suddenly asked. “What?” they all answered. “Why are you two avoiding me?” he asked while looking at G.O. and Seungho then he faced Joon and asked “Do I smell bad?”

Joon chuckled and said “Of course you don’t. You smell wonderful.” He smiled at Cheondung with a hint of happiness in his eyes. G.O. cleared his throat interrupting the love-dovey couple. Mir was silently eating beside Joon since the food tastes amazing.

“Sorry… I was hoping to sit next to Mir because I was going to ask him a favor.” Seungho said as he sat beside Cheondung. When Mir heard his name, he immediately looked at Seungho with wide eyes. “ba bis ut?” Mir asked with a full mouth. They all wrinkled their foreheads when they heard him talk.

“Stop talking when your mouth is full!” G.O. nagged and Mir quickly chewed on the food in his mouth and gulped it down. “What is it?” he asked Seungho. “Well… I was going to ask… about… something. I’ll tell you later.” Seungho stammered. Of course he was just saying an alibi. Mir just shrugged but G.O. tried his best not to laugh at Seungho’s failure.

While eating, Seungho noticed that Cheondung wasn’t eating much again so he took a big piece of meat and offered it to Cheondung. “Yah! You should eat more! Here!” Cheondung scowled at him. “What is that? That’s too big! You’re the one who usually eats that kind of serving!” Cheondung complained. Mir and G.O. were smiling as they watched how the two interacted. Joon, on the other hand, felt jealous but he knew that Seungho takes care of Cheondung because they’re childhood friends. Of course, he’s not completely sure.

Seungho still insisted on feeding Cheondung the piece of meat that he took. But Cheondung just turned his head away. This time even Joon smiled. “It’s ok Seungho. He’ll eat when he wants to.” Joon said. Seungho just nodded and took the meat in his mouth instead.

While chewing he still looked at Cheondung. Cheondung looked at him and they both scowled at each other. This time, Mir and G.O. couldn’t help but laugh at them.

“They started that again.” Mir said “Yeah… I wonder who will win.” G.O. answered. Joon also watched as his lover and his lover’s best friend did a face off. Joon couldn’t help but feel jealous of how the two were so close. But of course, he trusts Cheondung and he knows that Cheondung loves him. So he doesn’t have to worry about anything. It’s just that, sometimes Seungho gets on his nerves especially at times like this.

“Ok that’s enough you two. You shouldn’t be fighting in front of food.” Joon said as he took a bite. Cheondung immediately faced Joon as if knowing that he’s jealous. “It’s Seungho-hyung’s fault.” Joon chuckled as Cheondung made a pouting face for him. He bit his lip from smiling too wide and pinched Cheondung’s cheek.

Of course, if Joon was jealous when Seungho and Cheondung did the face off a while ago… It was now Seungho’s turn to get jealous of how sweet the two were. He looked away and concentrated on eating instead. Mir and G.O. exchanged knowing glances and started a topic.

“Have you finished the choreography for your dance?” G.O. asked them. Since Seungho’s mouth is full he didn’t even try to answer it. “We’re getting there.” Cheondung assured G.O. “Hyung, are you competing too?” Mir asked Joon.

Joon is a dance actor, that’s why he and Cheondung clicked the moment they met. Joon is into ballet and classical dance for their acting. Although their genre of dances are different, what makes them get along is that they share each other’s passion and they complement each other’s preference. Something that is hard to find in couples nowadays.

Joon sighed and said “We’re participating in a competition outside the school so we won’t be able to join this one. But I’ll be watching of course.” Cheondung beamed at him, particularly happy about what he said.

“Ohh… But hyung, you should stop surprising Cheondung-hyung whenever you go and watch. It’s unfair.” Mir voiced out. “Why is it unfair?” answered Cheondung, now with a wrinkled forehead. “Because you’re making us look bad! You’re too romantic! My girlfriend gets mad because I don’t do those things to her.” Mir explained while frowning.

G.O. laughed and said “It’s because you’re too chic when you’re with your girlfriend! You always pretend to be a bad boy when you’re not.”

They all burst out laughing at what G.O. said. “If you really want to, I can teach you something that’ll make your girlfriend happy.” Joon suddenly suggested. Mir’s eyes widened as if his eyeballs were going to pop-out of their sockets. “What? What is it? Tell me hyung!!!” Mir begged.

“When you see her approaching you, suddenly pretend that you’re in pain. Specifically the heart region.” Joon said and stood up while explaining it. He also acted it out “reach out to your chest like this *grips his shirt by his heart area* and pretend to be in massive pain. Of course she’ll go run to you right?” Joon asked and Mir nodded. The others were fascinated by how Joon explained with his body.

“Then when she’s already near you and holding you…” he stopped. Then he looked at Cheondung as if asking him to portray Mir’s girlfriend. Cheondung suddenly smiled and pretended to act with his boyfriend. “Omo! What’s wrong? Are you alright?” Cheondung acted out, all worried.

“My heart…” Joon said, panting and looking like he really is in a lot of pain. “What’s wrong with your heart?” Cheondung answered with anticipation. Joon suddenly looked up at Cheondung, “It feels like it’s going to explode because of too much love for you.” He said with such a sweet tone.

Cheondung suddenly blushed with what he said, he couldn’t do anything but smile. Mir and G.O. cringed at what they heard, it was so cheesy. And of course, Seungho pretended to react even though his heart seems to be stabbed.

“Something like that.” Joon said and straightened out. He pinched Cheondung’s cheek again and smiled at him. Cheondung just smiled back.

They sat back to their places and Mir and G.O. were wildly reacting to it. They, (G.O., Mir, and Joon), talked more about how to be romantic to your partner. Cheondung listened for a while but he noticed that Seungho wasn’t interacting with them so he looked at Seungho and asked “Hyung, are you ok?”
