chapter seven - Amusement Park

Recap:

“Damn it!”  He slammed his palm on the steering wheel

“Damn it damn it damn it!!!!” he shouted into thin air

Jaejoong heard a knock on the door. He was doing the painting of you, perfecting it

“Come in!” he shouted

Your head peeked inside “Oppa” you called

Jaejoong turned his head around “Oh, Hyeri-ya” he stood up and immediately covered the painting with the white cloth

You walked inside “Are you working on my painting?” you asked

“Uh-huh”

“Oh…” you nodded in understanding “Oppa, what are we going to do today?”

“Let’s go to Lotte World” he suggested

“Lotte World? Okay!” you beamed

You two went on rides and played games together

Jaejoong won you a big brown teddy bear and you were carrying it the whole day

“Oppa, gomawo for the teddy bear” you said happily while you two were walking around

“No problem. But promise me you’ll always keep it”

You nodded “Of course. It’s gonna be my favorite doll and I’ll always keep it by my side”

Jaejoong smiled hearing that and he slipped his arms around your waist

You saw an ice cream stand “Oppa, let’s go eat ice cream” you suggested

“Sure” then you two walked to the ice cream stand

“I’ll have a chocolate and a vanilla for her” Jaejoong told the ice cream man

The man scooped the ice creams and placed them on top of the cones. Then he handed them to you both

You ate the ice cream while walking, Jaejoong had his arm still wrapping your waist

“Oppa, how did you know I like vanilla?” you asked

“Hmmm… I just do, I guess?” then he chuckled

“What? Are you psychic or something?”

“No, I just know you that well” he boasted

You rolled your eyes playfully

The two of you continued your day playing in Lotte World, but Jaejoong’s mind seemed like it was in another dimension at times

Suddenly the day turned dark and Lotte World was far less crowded than before

You were still walking around with Jaejoong,

“Eh… Why is Lotte World already this quiet at this time?” you wondered as you looked around

“Because it’s already closed” Jaejoong simply answered

You turned to face him “What? But it’s only 7 o’clock”

“Well, I closed it”

You tilted your head in confusion “Huh?”

“I closed it, so we could be alone here at this hour” he said

“You closed it?! How?!”

“I know the owner” he simply said

“Wow, you have wide connections then…”

“You can say that” he smiled

Suddenly the lights all turned off

“Omo, oppa” you hugged his arm tighter

Then the lights of the carrousel lit up and it began spinning

“Pretty…” your eyes twinkled as you watched the carrousel

Then suddenly you felt your arm being dragged

“Come on!” he turned back

You smiled widely and followed him

“Milady” he bowed and presented the 'horse'

You giggled and sat on it. Then he sat on the one next to you

Jaejoong suddenly grabbed your hand and held it, so you both were hand in hand, sitting on the horse, going round and round…

You turned your head to look at him “Oppa, this is fun” you said “And romantic” you added

“I know, right?” he laughed

You looked away and enjoyed the ride and the pretty lights

Jaejoong looked at you from the side and his heart sunk

His expression turned sad

“Hyeri…” he whispered but you couldn’t hear it

How can I tell you that I’m getting engaged…?

He stared at the moving floor

Then you turned your head to look at him, you tilted your head “Oppa, what’s wrong?” you asked

He quickly looked up “Oh, ani. Nothing’s wrong” he forced a smile

You were still curious but you shrugged it off

Finally the ride ended and you two got off

“Oppa, this is really a fun day” you said as you hugged his arm

“Wanna do this again next time?”

“Of course, oppa” you snuggled your head against his arm

Jaejoong glanced at your smiling face

I can’t tell her now…

I don’t want to

I don’t want to break her heart…

I can’t afford to lose her
