Jaejoong was walking you home, with your left hand hugging the neck of the teddy bear Jaejoong won you, and the other was holding his hand.

You suddenly stopped your tracks which surprised him

You turned so you can face him, your face was serious “Oppa, what’s been bothering you this whole day?”

She noticed?   He asked himself

“What? Nothing’s been bothering me” he denied

You looked at him suspiciously as you leaned closer

“Tell me” you ordered

“I told you, nothing!”

You pouted

Then it went quiet as you two started walking again

Suddenly Jaejoong spoke up “Hyeri, if you had something really important to tell me, and you don’t know whether you should say it or not, would you tell me sooner… or later?”

You tilted your head “Depends, how important is it?”

“Like it-could-break-our-relationship important”

“Hmmm” you gave it some thought. You were extremely curious though, why he would ask such a question

“I’d tell you sooner, because if not, I don’t know how you’ll take it... I guess” you answered him

He nodded and heaved a deep sigh

Crap, I shouldn’t have asked that… Now I have to tell her…  he thought

He cleared his throat “Hyeri, I haven’t been completely honest with you…” he stopped his tracks which made you stop as well

He held your hand tighter “I’m…”

Your heart was throbbing, anxious of what he was going to say next

“I’m not a normal businessman. I’m the son of the Kim Corporations and chain hotels” he confessed

You looked at him and tilted your head “…. That’s it? That’s the important thing you were going to say to me?”

You felt relieved

“No”

And in an instant that relief was gone

He took a deep breath “I’m getting engaged”

Your smile quickly turned upside down and you dropped the teddy bear

“W-What?” you asked, hoping you didn’t hear right

“I’m getting engaged” he repeated, more firmly

You laughed “You’re joking, right, oppa?”

But his expression was serious but there was a lot of sadness in there

“… Right?”

He wasn’t answering

You looked at him in disbelief “Oppa, you’re serious? You’ve been dating me for months and you’re telling me you’re getting engaged? Oppa, how could you do that? I never thought you were that kind of pers-”

“It wasn’t my idea! I was forced into this!” he took your hands and held it tight

You grew more confused “Then whose idea is it?”

“Because my parents want our family to join forces with another family and make the company even bigger… They made me do this”

“I swear I didn’t want to do this, I’ve begged my parents to cancel this. But it was useless…” he said sadly

You shut your eyes, trying to take everything in

You took a deep breath and nodded slowly “Arasso, oppa” you forced a smile

“What?” he asked, confused

“I said arasso. I get it, oppa”

“You… get… it?”

You nodded

“That’s it? You’re not going to go in full rage and slap me or something?”

“Would you like that?” you asked

“No no no!” he quickly said “But… you get it?” he asked again, still couldn’t believe it “How can you just get it? You’re not mad that I’m getting engaged to another girl??”

“What good does it do to me? There’s nothing I can do about it, oppa" Your voice croaked as you blinked your tears away "So even though it’s hard saying this but…”

He stopped you by hugging you

His eyes were filled with tears “How could you just say you get it?! You’re fine with it?! What kind of girlfriend are you?! What kind of an angel are you?!” he started crying

He couldn’t believe how understanding you were

Tears started to well in your eyes “Oppa…”

“Even though I’m getting engaged soon, I am not, definitely not letting you go. You will always be my one and only”

You chuckled weakly “Isn’t that a bit too selfish oppa?”

He pulled back

“You’re getting engaged soon. You’re gonna have a fiancé soon. And if I still be your girlfriend, what would people think? And I definitely can’t show myself in front of your soon-to-be fiancé and your parents too”

“Do you care what other people think? Because I surely don’t. I don’t care what they’re gonna say. I don't care about what everybody else thinks, as long as I have you, nothing else matters”

“Oppa, but this isn’t right…"

“This is right, to me. To us. I’m never letting you go. I love you and only you” he cupped your face

You smiled brightly “Me too, oppa” you hugged him

But inside you were feeling a bit guilty, but happy as well since he told you he loved you

He broke the hug and looked at you deeply “Bear with me. I’ll find a way out of this mess. So ‘till then, just stay with me. Don’t listen to what my parents or what everybody else is gonna say. Just trust me”

You hesitated but then nodded "Okay, oppa"
