S.T.V

Hongbin was staring at Ravi wondering what he was doing in his room and on his bed as he got out of the shower. He was used to Ravi dropping by unannounced but he had just seen the other one right before he got in the shower so he knew that Ravi couldn’t possibly have anything new to tell him, but he decided to humor him.

“Did you miss me that much Ravi that you just had to come back?” Hongbin joked as he took the smaller towel in his hand and continued to dry his longish hair off.

“I always miss you Binnie, but I actually had something to tell you.”

“That you forgot to tell me earlier? Well go ahead, start talking,” Hongbin said as he started to dig through his drawers for something to wear. In the end he decided on a plain blue t-shirt and a pair of dark jeans.

“Well I just heard that the new kid got his first mission last night,” Ravi said with a slight air of excitement in his voice. Hongbin didn’t see anything interesting in the news however. They were secret agents, of course the kid was going to get his first mission eventually, but he pressed on because he figured there was more to the story that Ravi wanted to tell him.

“Ok and what happened? Did he ruin it or something?”

“Nah, quite the opposite. Apparently he got in well with the target and Onew even made gathering information from him his main mission. That kid obviously has some unforeseen skills under his belt for someone that came to us completely untrained.

“Obviously,” Hongbin said not really paying attention as he sat in front of his vanity table combing his still damp hair out.

“And do you want to know who the target is?”

            “Who?”

“Oh Byunghee.” As soon as Ravi mentioned that name Hongbin dropped the comb he was holding in his hand and turned around to face him in shock.

“I knew that name would get your attention,” Ravi said with a small smirk on his face.

“Does that mean that he was…the light for the mission,” Hongbin asked hesitantly, not even sure if he wanted to know the answer.

“Yea. It seems like that kid was able to seduce him easily. Seems like he’s still into pretty boys,” Ravi joked and Hongbin stayed quiet lost in his thoughts of the past. Ravi noticed his silence and figured he might have taken the joking too far.

“Are you still not over what happened two years ago?” he asked in a soft voice, all signs of joking gone.

“I’m fine. It’s fine,” Hongbin said as he caressed his left shoulder feeling a soft sting start to resonate through it.

“I’m sorry, I guess I shouldn’t have brought it up.” Ravi felt really stupid for thinking that Hongbin would even want to hear about it, but he thought that his friend was seriously over it.

“I swear I’m fine, but that means that we’re still going after them.”

“Yea, I don’t know how Leo hyung is going to take it when he finds out though. I know he’s still not over what happened two years ago.”

“It’s my fault. Hyung still won’t even speak to me and every time he looks at me I still feel the hatred in his gaze,” Hongbin said as he lowered his head. He knew what happened two years ago was his fault but that didn’t mean that he still didn’t feel guilty.

“Bin-ah he doesn’t hate you. I think he still needs time but every now and then he does ask me how you’re doing.”

“Don’t lie to me Ravi just to make me feel better,” Hongbin scolded not feeling happy in the slightest with Ravi’s lie.

“I swear he did! I promise you, he’ll talk to you soon enough. Just give him time. Plus he was always a naturally silent person. Anyway we have to go meet Onew in conference room one in about thirty minutes.”

“I know…we get our new member today right?”

“Yea, I heard he’s a kid from the Gangnam branch.”

            “He’s young?” Hongbin asked.

“Yea, but he’s smart. At least this is what I heard.”

“Seriously Ravi, where do you get all your information from?”

“If I told you it wouldn’t be a mystery anymore,” Ravi said with a smirk on his face, “Just hurry and get ready. You know Onew hates when we’re late.”

“Yea, yea. If you would leave me alone I could get ready in peace.”

“I’m going, I’m going. Meet ya down there,” Ravi said as he left the room. Once he was gone Hongbin place his hand back on his shoulder and let out a soft sigh.

“I wonder if you’re happy…”he mumbled to himself before going back to getting ready for the meeting.

“Leo~ let’s walk down to the meeting together!” N exclaimed as he hooked his arm with Leo’s but Leo immediately shook him off and walked ahead of him.

“Leo~ wait for me!” N continued to whine as he sped up to catch up to Leo. They ended up being the first members of their team to enter the conference room but Onew and who they assumed to be the new member was already there. N nervous glanced at his watch to see if they were late.

“Calm down, you’re not late. We just happen to be early,” Onew said with a smile on his face, a real smile too, something that surprised N since for the last couple of days it seemed like Onew was in a bad mood.

“Oh, well that’s good,” N said as he took a seat at the table along with Leo who continued to stay silent, “This must be our new member,” he continued with a smile on his face as he looked at the boy sitting next to Onew.

“Yea, we’ll start the introductions once Ravi and Hongbin get here.”

It didn’t take long for the last two members to show up and they did the same thing as N and checked their watches scared that they were late for the meeting. Once Onew calmed them down by saying that they weren’t and they were seated he started the introductions.

“Ok, now that everyone is here I would like to introduce you to your new member Sanghyuk. He comes to us from the Gangnam branch and he’s here to lend up his computer skills.”

“So he’s a hacker.” Ravi spoke up and Onew nodded his head.

“Basically yea. I know he looks young but he knows his stuff. He is…well why don’t I stop talking and just let him introduce himself,” Onew said before nodding towards Sanghyuk to start speaking.

“I’m Han Sanghyuk; I would like to be called Hyuk though.  I’m 16 years old and a computer genius,” Hyuk introduced himself, somewhat full of himself and Ravi couldn’t help but scoff.

“You’re freaking 16? Shouldn’t you be in school little boy?” he said as he started laughing.

“Actually I graduated high school at 14 and that’s when I was recruited into the agency as well. I’m sorry if it took you so long to graduate old man,” Hyuk responded and Onew ended up letting out a soft chuckle.

“It seems like you guys will all be getting along just fine. So I’ll let you get to know each other oh and Leo here,” Onew said as he handed Leo a bright pink envelope. No one understood why the mission envelopes were bright pink instead of a normal color but no one questioned it either. After Onew left the room, Leo opened the envelope to see what the mission was before getting up to leave himself.

“Hey, Leo hyung! Who is supposed to come with you on the mission?” Ravi asked, but Leo didn’t respond and just walked out the door.

“Damn, what’s his problem?” Hyuk said and Ravi was really getting irritated with how informal and rude this kid talked, he wasn’t the only one though.

“Listen, I know you’re new and this is your first day in the S.T.V branch but you’re going to need to learn to watch your mouth. First off, we are all your hyungs and you will address us as such. The person that just walked out is Leo, I’m N, that’s Hongbin with the curly hair, and that’s Ravi with the blonde hair. Now you know all of our names as well. I don’t care if you’re a genius or not, but I’m the captain of this team and you will listen to what I or any of your other hyungs say, got that?” N said in a serious tone that had Hongbin and Ravi quiet too. Hyuk didn’t respond immediately and it just irritated N even more.

“I asked you if you got that?!” He repeated and this time Hyuk answered with a small yes.

“Good then, I’m glad to have you on our team and I’m sure you’ll make a great addition,” N added as he stretched his hand out for a handshake with Hyuk. Hyuk seemed confused by the sudden personality switch but Hongbin and Ravi on the other hand was used to N’s somewhat bi-polar personality.

“Same” Hyuk said as he took his hand.

“Now how about I show you around? I bet Onew hyung hasn’t shown you the place yet. Do you even know where your room is?” N asked as he placed and an arm around Hyuk’s shoulder.

            “Yea.”

“Well then let me show you everything else!” He said excitedly as he shook the younger boy a bit.

While the rest of the team was getting to know Hyuk, Leo was in Onew’s office staring at him and waiting for him to explain what was up with his so called “mission.”

“Leo-ssi, you seem unhappy. What’s wrong?” Onew asked and Leo simply threw the envelope down on his desk.

“Are you unhappy with your mission?”

“What type of mission is this?” Leo asked his voice slightly deeper but a lot louder than his normal airy and soft voice, indicating that he was upset.

“Leo…no Taekwoon-ah,” Onew started but was cut off.

“Don’t call me that! No one is allowed to call me that ever again!” Leo exclaimed and Onew let out a soft sigh.

“Leo, I know you’re upset and I know that today couldn’t have been a worse day for Hyuk to join your team, so that’s why I’ve given you the day off. Go be with him, I bet he would like that,” Onew said as he gave him a small smile.

Leo didn’t say anything else as he left Onew’s office, running a hand through his hair harshly. He headed straight to his room to get his car keys so he could go out. Right as he was about to walk out of the building he ran into Yunho.

            “Ah, Leo. You’re heading out?”

“Yea…there’s something I have to do,” he said in his normal voice, no longer feeling angry, but now trying to hide the sadness in his voice. Yunho placed a comforting hand on Leo’s shoulder before giving him a sad smile.

“I understand…well I guess I don’t, but drive safely and remember that people are here that still care about you,” Yunho said as he patted his shoulder one more time before walking away.

As Leo was driving he thought about what Yunho had said. He understood why he said that because those first couple of months after it happened he really wanted to die but now he understood that by doing so it wouldn’t change anything.

Soon enough Leo ended up at his destination. He parked the car and picked up the small bouquet of white lilies that he had picked up on his way. Leo followed the familiar path that he had walked so many times before until he was standing in front of the grave he had come to see. He thought he could handle it after how much time had passed but still the tears fell from his eyes heavily as he fell to his knees and cried over the plot.

“Jaehwan-ah…” he cried out as he continued to sob, wishing that there was a way to bring his boyfriend back.

           ------------------------------------------------------------------

Hongbin’s wet hands smacked the side of the pool as he flipped around to swim back down to the other end. His muscles and lungs ached but he kept going back and forth until he finally felt like he was at his limit. Once he finished his last lap he stood up in the pool trying to catch his breath before pulling himself out, letting his legs stay in the pool as he laid his back on the cool tile.

“Are you done now?” he heard a voice say and causing him to sit up so fast that he almost fell back into the pool. He looked around the room until his eyes landed on Hyuk sitting in one of the lounge chairs. He didn’t know when or how long the younger boy had been there and he was curious about if he had been watching him the whole time.

“What are you doing here?” was the only questioned he asked, however, as he stood up to get his towel and dry off.

“I was bored so I came here because I like being around pools and I noticed you were swimming so I just stayed. It’s very calming the sound of rhythmically splashing water,” Hyuk said as if it was the most normal thing in the world and in no way creepy that he was watching the older man.

“Well don’t you have something better to do than watching someone swim? Like looking around the place or a mission or something,” Hongbin said as he walked over to where Hyuk was sitting so they weren’t talking to each other from across the room.

“N hyung already showed me around and of course I don’t have a mission, it’s my first day here. That would just be cruel to make me work on my first day in a new branch now don’t you think so?”

“Hmm, whatever,” Hongbin said as he continued to dry his hair. As he went to throw the towel in the dirty laundry basket he felt Hyuk’s eyes watching and he turned around to see the younger boy still staring at him.

“You know it’s impolite to stare,” he said as he wrapped a new towel around his waist, before going to get his t-shirt, “I mean I know I’m gorgeous and all but…”

“Is that a bullet scar on your shoulder?” Hyuk asked interrupting Hongbin and causing the older man to stop in his tracks as he was about to pull the shirt over his head. He quickly composed himself though and put his shirt on as if nothing happened.

            “Yea it is.”

“Really? How did you get it? I mean you seem to be the pretty one out of the team, not saying the other members aren’t good looking, but your long hair and nice features…anyway I simply assumed you were the light. Isn’t the light supposed to be one of the safer positions?”

            “What makes you think that?”

            “That you’re the light? I just said…”

“No, that our positions are safer and you are correct, I am the light.” Hongbin said cutting Hyuk off.

“Oh well…I mean don’t you have other team members protecting you and don’t you simply have to dress up, look pretty and be a distraction while the other guys do the dirty work?”

“Is that all you think it is? Us ‘lights’ simply dress up, put on a fake wig, bat our eyelashes, and keep the target occupied while they go and handle the hard stuff? Of course that’s what you think. You’re only a hacker. You sit behind a computer to do all your work, never having to leave and actually interact with people,” Hongbin shot back.

“Hey! At least I don’t have to dress up like a girl and flirt with some old sleaze balls! I actually have a brain and know how to use it! Everyone knows lights are practically at the lower end of the spectrum of secret agents, with us brains, hackers, as you like to call them at the top.”

Hongbin walked over to Hyuk and continued advancing towards him until the other boy was practically laying on his back on the lounge chair with Hongbin hovering over him.

“Yah, back up will you! Why are you so mph…?” The last bit of Hyuk’s words was cut off as Hongbin pressed his lips against the others. He easily slipped his tongue into Hyuk’s mouth as he ran one hand up his shirt to play with a and his knee rubbed up against his crotch. Hyuk was fighting underneath him but Hongbin was stronger than him and was in complete control. After a while he finally pulled away and looked at the mess of the boy that was under him. Hyuk’s cheeks were flushed a deep pink color and his breath was uneven.

“If you’re at the top of the spectrum you should’ve been able to push me away with that brain of yours since I’m so inferior to you. You don’t know the half of what I and other people that have to play the light go through, so don’t talk as if you know everything, because you may be a little boy genius but just by hearing you talk for five minutes I can see that you really don’t know jack ,” Hongbin said as he flicked Hyuk’s forehead before completely removing himself from on top of the boy and leaving the pool area.

“I just wanted to know where the scar came from…” Hyuk mumbled to himself as his trembling fingers touched his slightly swollen lips, thanks to Hongbin’s biting. He felt his face heat up and quickly shook away any thoughts that entered his mind about the other man.

While Hyuk was trying to compose himself after what happened with Hongbin, the other male in question went to his room to wash the chlorine off of his skin. As he showered he felt a pair of arms wrap around his midsection, as warm heat washed over him from another body that had snuck up behind him.

“You’re taking so long Bin-ah. I almost thought you fell in here,” the voice said lowly in his ear as one hand started to rub his midsection.

“Do you need me to help you wash?” The hand started travelling lower and lower causing Hongbin to let out a low moan.

“Hmm…Byungie hyung,” Hongbin moaned out before opening his eyes and realizing that he was in fact still alone in the shower. He leaned his head against the cool tile as he tried to slow his breathing and bring himself slowly back to reality before soon leaving the shower. He went to his room to get dressed, still not believing that he was still having day dreams about Byunghee two years later. Hongbin soon heard his stomach growl and figured that he should go eat something before he starved.

“Maybe being around people can help me keep my mind occupied and off of Byunghee..,” he thought to himself as he left his room and headed to the kitchen. He didn’t feel like really cooking anything so he settled with making himself a sandwich with so potato chips on the side. Right before going into the dining room he grabbed himself a bottle of water and went to go sit at the table.

When Hongbin entered the dining room he saw that he wasn’t the only person eating now. Key, Jonghyun, and the new boy from the S.H.I.N.e.e team were also there, along with Yunho. He was surprised mostly to see Yunho since he didn’t usually eat with them but it seemed like he was starting to join the group again instead of continuously holing himself in his room.

“Hey guys,” Hongbin said as he sat down and took a bite of his sandwich.

“Hey. So is it true? Did your team also receive a new member today?” Jonghyun asked as he stole a chip off of Hongbin’s plate.

“Hyung, don’t eat my food and yea. It’s some smartass kid.”

“Kid? How old is he?” Key asked as he played with Taemin’s hair. Even though Taemin had been there for about two weeks he had really started to grow fond of the younger boy.

            “He’s 16.”

“Whoa really?! Damn, the kid is still in high school. Hear that Taemin, you’re no longer the baby,” Jonghyun laughed and Taemin just hit him on his arm.

“Shut up hyung! I’m glad I’m not the youngest member anyway. Maybe now you’ll stop babying me all the time.”

“Nah, you’re still the baby of our team, which gives me every right to baby you,” Jonghyun said as he took a hold of Taemin’s cheeks in either hand and pinched them hard.

“Ahhh stop hyung! That hurts!!” Taemin whined and Hongbin couldn’t help but stare at the younger boy. He was indeed very pretty and he could easily understand why Byunghee fell for him.

“Wait? Did you say you got a new member?” Yunho now chimed into the conversation, a little slow on the uptake, mainly because of the other three boys acting rowdy across from him.

            “Yea. Why hyung?”

“Why today of all days did Onew decide to bring in a new member to your team? I just don’t understand. I guess that’s why Leo left earlier,” he mumbled the last bit under his breath but Hongbin heard him.

“You saw Leo hyung leave? Where did he go?”

“I figured that he went to see Ken.”

Hongbin went silent and Yunho saw the guilt start to worm its way into Hongbin’s mind. So he placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before shaking him a bit.

“Come on, snap out of it. You need to stop blaming yourself for something that wasn’t even your fault,” Yunho said as he gave him a small smile.

“Who’s Ken?” Taemin innocently asked, curious and wanting to try and get to know all of the members that lived in the building.

“No one Taemin. You don’t need to worry about it,” Jonghyun said earning a quick smack to the back of the head from Key.

“Don’t say that he’s no one! He’s a member of the V.I.X.X team.”

“Oh ok. I can’t wait to meet him!” Taemin said in his normal upbeat and cheery voice.

“Yea…one day,” was all Key said and a sullen atmosphere fell over the group yet Taemin couldn’t understand why.

“Uhh…I heard that you’ve been assigned to Oh Byunghee as your own personal assignment,” Hongbin said, breaking the silence.

“Yea! I’m sort of excited to be given a private mission all my own so soon! I’m also nervous too, I mean I’ve never dated anyone, I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep him interested in me…” Taemin trailed off as he started playing with the table cloth.

“That’s why I’m here to give you all the pointers in the world needed to seduce a man!” Key bragged as he ruffled Taemin’s hair.

“Hyung stop! You’re gonna make it a mess!”

“He likes it when you look nice…” Hongbin then said under his breath but loud enough for everyone to hear.

“Huh? Do you know him?” Taemin asked, wondering if he had to go on a mission involving Byunghee at one point too.

“Yea…you could say that, but he likes when you dress nicely. He isn’t a fan of sweatpants and stuff when you go out in public. He doesn’t mind skinny jeans though, they have to be dark. No bright colors…” Hongbin said as his mind started to wander to past memories of him and Byunghee together.

“Bin-ah, you know how much I love seeing you squeeze that of yours into tight skinny jeans. It makes it hard for me to keep my hands off of you,” Byunghee said as he wrapped his arms around Hongbin’s waist pulling him into a close back hug.

“Well you’re going to have to keep your hands off of me for a couple of hours. Didn’t you say our reservation is at seven?”

“It’s only 5:30. That’s enough time for a quickie and who cares if we’re a bit late,” Byunghee said as he pulled Hongbin into a deep kiss that the younger boy melted into almost immediately. If there was one thing that Hongbin loved it was the feeling of the other man’s lips on top of his own.

“Bin-ah.  Hongbin-ah!” Hongbin heard his name being called and was snapped out of reminiscing the past, something he knew he shouldn’t even be doing in the first place.

“Sorry, I spaced out for a moment. What were you saying?”

“I was just asking how you know so much about Oh Byunghee,” Jonghyun asked.

“I…I just happened to be the light assigned to him two years ago is all. Anyway, I’m done eating. I’ll see you guys later,” Hongbin said as he stood up, only half of his sandwich eaten and left the dining room.

“2 years ago, isn’t that when…holy ,” Key’s brain quickly put two and two together before he sent an eye signal to Jonghyun, who also seemed to have finally made the connection.

“What? What happened two years ago?” Taemin asked thoroughly confused.

“Ah, it’s nothing you have to worry about. Now, how about we go back to my room and I can finish giving you some suggestions on what to do when you’re with this guy.”

Key and Taemin also left to go continue their conversation, with Jonghyun following behind them; leaving Yunho alone in the kitchen. Yunho, worried about Leo however, sent a quick text message to him, before leaving himself.

Stop thinking about him. Stop thinking about him! Hongbin kept repeating to himself once he was in the safety of his own bedroom. He hated how all of his old emotions kept welling up inside of him just by hearing his name. He could only imagine what would happen if he saw him again.

No, I can’t see him again. Never again. He knew he couldn’t. Not only because it would be bad for him but because he was actually not allowed to make contact with him ever again or he would be kicked out of the organization and face harsh consequences. He let out a harsh sigh before throwing himself on his bed and looking over at his jewelry box.

I just hope you’re happy and not getting into too much trouble. Even though he knew the last part of his statement wasn’t true because if he was staying out of trouble they wouldn’t have sent secret agents to his home.

“Ugh…I just want to see you, one more time,” Hongbin spoke to himself as he closed his eyes, trying to forget about Byunghee once again.

           ---------------------------------------------------------

Yunho was sitting in his room when there was a knock at his door. He looked at the clock and it read 8:47pm. He knew exactly who was at his door but wondered why he was back so late, he figured that he would find out soon enough though.

“Come in,” he said and soon Leo walked into the room and took up his normal position in the upper corner of Yunho’s bed. Leo curled up into himself and faced the wall. Yunho finished up the last bit of stuff he was working on before walking over to his bed, sitting next to Leo, and softly his head.

“How are you? Did it go well today?”

Leo shook his head and Yunho let out a soft sigh. “I know you still miss him. We all do. He was a bright little ray of sunshine in this department, but you can’t sulk forever. It’s been two years already.”

Leo didn’t respond and Yunho didn’t really expect him to. He usually did the most talking and simply just comforting Leo, to have Leo say thanks before leaving the room hours later.

“Did you meet your new group member today?”

Leo nodded his head. “Do you like him? I heard he’s young.”

“He is.” The first two words to leave Leo’s mouth and Yunho was just happy that the boy was responding.

“I was telling Hongbin earlier…” Yunho stopped speaking when he felt Leo stiff up under him at the mention of Hongbin’s name. Even though Leo had expressed to him that he no longer blamed the younger boy for what happened to Ken, every now and then it was apparent that he got into moods when he didn’t want to see or hear anything pertaining to the other boy, especially around this time of the year.

“You can’t keep blaming him for what happened. He already blames himself enough everyday it seems like.”

“I don’t blame him hyung…it’s just why did it have to be Jaehwan? Why did it have to be him of all people to die?”

“Would you rather it be Hongbin?”

Leo didn’t say anything and Yunho let out a soft sigh. “I know you don’t. You may think that you do but you would be equally as sad if Hongbin wasn’t here and Ken was. I mean I miss everyone from my team. From Jaejoong to Yoochun to Junsu, I miss them all equally and wish they were here with Changmin and I.”

“You miss Jaejoong hyung the most though don’t you? You’re mad at him the most for leaving, aren’t you?”

Yunho sighed again, he felt himself doing so often around the younger boy. “You’re right I am. So I guess it isn’t the same. If the situation had been reversed for both of us, I guess we both would be a little bit happier than we are now,” Yunho admitted and Leo just let out a soft hum of agreement.

“Anyway, you were out for a long time. What were you doing all day today? You don’t smell like alcohol so I’m glad to know that you didn’t drink yourself into a stupor, “Yunho tried to joke but Leo didn’t laugh. He hasn’t laughed much since Ken passed.

“I went to the park hyung. Jaehwan and I used to go to the park often on our days off because he liked how peaceful it would be, just watching people going about their normal daily lives.”

“You were at the park? That seems nice. It’s still early fall so you might as well go as much as you can now before it gets too cold right?”

Leo nodded his headed before thinking back on his experience in the park and his conversation with the strange Chinese man that had sat next to him.

“I met someone hyung…” he said as he thought back on the man and Yunho’s eyes opened wide, surprised by the statement.

“Met someone? Like who? Someone you’re interested in?”

“He is interesting…so I guess you can say that,” Leo said, remembering his encounter.

“So…are you over Ken then?” Yunho hesitantly asked and Leo glared at him slightly.

“No, what makes you think that?”

            “You said you met someone.”

            “I did.

            “Well then…”

“I didn’t say I wanted to date them hyung. Just that I met someone. This man sat down next to me on the bench without saying anything,” Leo started his story.

“Well, don’t most people do that?” Yunho asked confused.

“No, usually no one sits next to me. I think it’s because my gaze is so intense, it scares people away. “

“You do have really strong eyes, so that’s understandable.”

“Anyway, he sat there and didn’t say anything for a long time until finally speaking up and asking…”

“Can I draw a picture of you?”

“Excuse me?” Leo asked not sure if he heard correctly.

“I’m sorry, your face is just so…it’s just what I’m looking for and I would really like to draw it. I’m sorry if I seem creepy or anything,” the man next to him explained in accented Korean.

“Where are you from?” Leo was curious. He tried to pinpoint where the accent could be from but couldn’t decide if it was Japanese or Chinese after narrowing it down.

“Ah? Is my accent that heavy?” The man said as he placed a hand over his mouth, seemingly embarrassed.

“No, it’s really not. I just notice it on certain words.”

“Oh well then that’s good. I’m from China. I’m here for art school and other things….”

            “Other things?” Leo asked suspicious.

“Yea, like sightseeing and stuff. My name is Yixing by the way.” The other man said as he stuck his hand out. Leo looked at it skeptically before taking it and shaking it with his own.

            “Leo…”

“Well Leo, can I draw you?” he asked getting back to his original question.

            “I guess…”

“And then what happened?” Yunho asked as Leo stopped speaking.

“He drew me like he wanted to. It came out pretty nice too hyung. Then we just talked for a little while longer before he said he had to leave. Apparently he goes to the park almost every day, or at least tries to when he’s not busy.”

“It’s nice to know that you made a friend, even if it was a weird encounter.”

“He’s not my friend hyung, just some random guy I met.”

“Oh, did you not exchange numbers or anything?”

            “We did…”

“So even if you’re not friends now, I bet you will be in the future.”

“Maybe…Anyway thanks for keeping me company hyung.”

“You’re leaving already?” Yunho asked, since Leo usually would stay for at least an hour yet he had only been there for about forty-five minutes.

“Yea, I can’t keep coming to you and taking up all of your time when I’m feeling down right? Plus you made me feel better already. Just thinking and talking about Yixing to you brought my spirits up, thanks,” Leo said as he gave Yunho one of his rare smiles that had Yunho smiling right back at him.

“Sure, no problem and you never have to feel like you’re bothering me. I enjoy spending time with you,” Yunho said when truth was that Leo being around him helped to keep his own mind off of Jaejoong.

“Let’s spend time together one day outside of your room then. People are gonna start thinking that we’re dating soon.” Leo let out a small laugh and Yunho was happy to see him returning to the old Leo even if just for a little while.

“I don’t know. It might not be so bad if we did date,” Yunho joked back.

“Hyung I’m not your type. You like them pretty like Jaejoong hyung and I’m not that. Anyway, I’ll see you later,” Leo said before leaving the room and heading to his own. N happened to be walking down the hallway when Leo left Yunho’s room, however, and he quickly ran over to Leo’s side.

“You’re leaving hyung’s room again. You guys have been spending a lot of time together. Have you moved on from Ken and onto Yunho hyung now?” N asked and Leo didn’t even respond to him as he entered his room and closed the door on N’s face.

Stupid idiot. Why does he keep following me and asking me dumb questions. Jaehwan-ah if you were here you would have something smart to say to him. Or at least you could keep him company so he wouldn’t bother me.

Leo knew he wasn’t the only one sad over Ken’s death, that everyone on the team was broken up about it. Hongbin was because he felt as if it was his fault. Then there was N, who was practically best friends with Ken. If they weren’t so stupid with each other people would easily think they were dating with how much time they spent together. Ravi went to Ken for advice or just to watch movies together and then there was Leo. Ken was his lover, his other half; the person that kept him grounded and made him feel safe. He was there to listen to him and always could tell when Leo was upset about something. He wasn’t only his lover but his one true friend that he had in this place and now both positions were empty and it left Leo feeling cold and empty inside himself. Leo was at least happy to have Yunho by his side since he was slowly filling up the best friend hole inside of him.

I just wish Yunho could also find someone to go to, to make him happy as well. Leo thought to himself. He knew all about what happened between Yunho and Jaejoong, or at least everything Yunho was willing to tell him. Apparently the other man wasn’t keeping in contact with him at all, no matter how many times Yunho tried to contact him. It’s almost as if the other half of the team fell of the face of the earth and even if Yunho wouldn’t express it in so many words, Leo was able to tell that the older man was hurt by his ex lover. If he could even be called that since they never officially broke up.

Leo sat at his desk and picked up a picture of Ken that he kept there. He slowly caressed the picture as he let out a soft sigh. “I guess we’re just not allowed to find love in this field of work. You and I didn’t work out and neither did Yunho hyung and Jaejoong hyung. One day I’ll be able to join you again, but don’t worry, it won’t be anytime soon, not until I at least avenge your death,” Leo said as he kissed the photo lightly before setting it back down.

While Hongbin and Leo were going through mini crisis’ in their lives N had just been delivered a pink mission envelope. He let out a harsh sigh after Onew left, upset because he thought that they were given a day off. It was almost 11 at night and he was already in his pajamas too.

“Why do we have to get missions so late at night sometimes? I was just about to sleep,” N mumbled to himself as he opened up the envelope to see who would be coming on this mission with him.

Mission:  Retrieve Information on students Kim Jongin and Oh Sehun from Bandu High

Secret agents Assigned: N and Hyuk

Details: Retrieve the information on these two students and bring it back to headquarters. Must be completed before 7am.

The rest of the note contained the address of the school but what N couldn’t figure out was why they had to go there. If it was simply retrieving some files couldn’t the new boy genius Hyuk simply hack into their computers and get the information? However, N knew better than to question Onew on the details of any mission. So he quickly got dressed, figuring it would be better to go now instead of later, because the faster they got it over with the faster he could go to sleep and then he headed over to Hyuk’s room to get him.

N had to knock multiple times before Hyuk finally came to the door, obviously just waking up. He looked at N through squinted eyes with an irritated look on his face.

“Hyung…what are you doing here? I was sleeping,” he mumbled out, yawing halfway through his statement.

“I can see that, but it’s time for you to get dressed. We have a mission.”

“Ugh seriously? Can’t it wait until morning? It’s my first day here…”

“Yes seriously and no it can’t. Now hurry up,” N said as he pushed Hyuk back into his room and his lights before helping him find something to wear.

Soon enough they were on their way to the school and Hyuk was drinking a cup of coffee to fully wake himself up. As they were driving Hyuk decided to ask N about the scar on Hongbin’s shoulder, figuring that he might know what caused it.

“Hyung, do you know how Hongbin hyung got that bullet hole scar on his shoulder?”

N looked at him from the corner of his eye before turning his gaze back to the road. “Yea, I do.” Was all he said and it frustrated Hyuk.

            “Well can you tell me?”

“You should just ask Hongbin if you want to know so bad.”

“I did, but he…” Hyuk trailed off remembering the kiss that Hongbin gave him and the way his hands touched him, causing his face to heat up.

            “But he what?”

“Nothing! I mean…” Hyuk calmed himself down a bit, “It’s nothing. I was just curious but I guess it’s really none of my business right?”

“Now you’re starting to understand,” N said as he pulled over the car about two blocks away from the school.

“We’re here?” Hyuk asked confused as he looked around and saw that they were still in a residential neighborhood.

“Yup, we walk the rest of the way now. Let’s go, we’re burning moonlight.”

They walked to the school gates and N was able to easily scale the gate to get to the other side. Hyuk watched in amazement as N practically flew over the gate and he knew that he would not be able to do that at all himself.

“Come on, hurry up and climb over,” N said growing impatient with the younger boy.

“Umm…ok.” Hyuk placed his left foot on the gate and tried to push himself up off the ground but his foot simply slipped and fell back down to the ground. He tried again making it slightly further up before once again falling to the ground.

“Can you stop ing around and come over here already!” N said becoming more and more agitated as he Hyuk stayed on the other side.

            “I can’t. I don’t know how to climb gates and fences…”

“Ugh, fine.” N scaled the gate again to join Hyuk before bending down so that he could give him a boost. “Get on my shoulders and climb over.”

“Are you sure hyung? I won’t be too heavy?” Hyuk asked hesitant to get on N.

“Just do it! We can’t spend all day outside the gate. We have to get inside and get the information before 7.”

“Fine, just don’t complain.” Hyuk sat on N’s shoulders and was surprised when N stood up so easily. He quickly grabbed onto the gate, scared of falling over and once he was steady he let out a sigh of relief.

“Ok, don’t just sit there, climb over!”

Hyuk could hear in N’s voice how frustrated he was becoming so he quickly grabbed onto the gate again and used the little upper body strength he had to pull himself over. He ended up falling on his back on the other side and scraping up his hands and knees but at least he was over. N quickly climbed over again and started walking towards the school, Hyuk following behind.

Getting over the gate was the easy part because when they got to the front of the school they were faced with a security system that N himself couldn’t hack into so he turned to Hyuk.

            “Can you disable this system?”

Hyuk looked it over before nodding his head. “Yea I could if I brought my tools with me. I would have to unscrew this and rewire the lock pad because if I tried the chances are I would set the alarm off in about three tries and…”

“You didn’t bring your tools?!” N exclaimed, 100% done with Hyuk. He couldn’t understand how one person could practically be so useless. “Why wouldn’t you bring your tools?!”

            “I didn’t think I needed them. I thought…”

“Why didn’t you think you would need them?! You’re a hacker. That’s the reason you ing joined this team! If you’re chosen to go on a mission don’t you think you would need your ing tools?! Ugh, forget it! What are we gonna do now?” N said as he paced back and forth in front of the door.

Hyuk for the second time in one day and his life felt stupid. He was always highly praised, never yelled at, never scolded but here he was being yelled at by N for something that was completely his fault. He looked over the security key pad again and could faintly see some smudged fingerprints over the number 1478.

Well that tells me those four numbers are part of the combination but that still gives me multiple combinations that could unlock this. Here goes nothing; I should try something since we came all the way over here.

Hyuk took a deep breath and slowly started punching in the numbers 1478. The security pad went red and started beeping telling him that the code was wrong.

“What are you doing?” N asked, coming up besides Hyuk.

            “Trying to get us inside.”

            “Do you know the code?”

“No, but I’m gonna try and figure it out,” Hyuk said as he let out a soft sigh as he entered 4187 to once again be denied access.

“You’re going to set off the alarm!”

“We’ll run then. Would you rather us just head back without trying?” Hyuk asked and N didn’t say anything and simply gestured for him to continue. Hyuk looked back at the key pad and ran a bunch of different combinations in his head before deciding on a combination to try.

“7…4…1…8,” he said slowly as he entered the code only to have the key pad blink back angrily at him as the alarm system went off in the building.

“I guess it time to run,” N said as he grabbed his hand so they could run back to the gate but Hyuk released his hand, ran back to the key pad, and wiped his finger prints off of it before running away with N. They ran all the way back to the car and when they got there, they were sweaty and out of breath, or well Hyuk was. N was pretty much still composed, his breathing slightly ragged, but nothing too harsh.

“So…I guess we go back to headquarters now?” Hyuk asked and N looked at him, side of his lip raised, eyes slightly squinted, and basically the best stank face he could muster before hitting the back of his head multiple times.

“You ing idiot! Our mission is totally botched because of you! You just couldn’t ing bring your goddamn tools could you?! I hope you’re ready to explain to Onew why our mission failed when we get back,” N said as he started up the car to head back to headquarters.

“Can’t we just go, get my tools and come back?”

“You really are an idiot aren’t you? That place is going to be crawling with police at least for the next hour. There’s no point. So you better start thinking up a good excuse now, because Onew is never happy when missions aren’t accomplished and when Onew isn’t happy…well it’s not a fun occasion for anyone.”

Sure enough when they got back Onew wasn’t happy. After N told him what happened, he dismissed N and kept Hyuk in the office with him.

“So, can you explain to me why you didn’t think to bring your tools along with you on the mission?” Onew asked his voice calm but Hyuk could hear the icy coldness in his voice.

“I didn’t know I would need them and it’s really late at night and I was sleeping when N hyung woke me up so I wasn’t thinking straight and…”

“Stop. Don’t speak anymore because all that I hear coming out of your mouth is bull excuses. Do you like being a secret agent?” Onew then asked in all seriousness, not that he stopped being serious at one point during their conversation.

            “Huh? Yea, I do.”

“Do you like working in this department?”

Hyuk wasn’t sure how to answer that since he had already been there for a day and in that one day was made to feel like an idiot, yelled at by the other members, along with being ually harassed by one member. Yet, in one part of his mind he was still happy and felt pride in being part of the elite branch.

            “Yea, I do.”

“Good, then I’m giving you another shot. I’ve officially enrolled you in Bandu High. You will go and befriend Kim Jongin and Oh Sehun and give us any and all information that you find out about them,” Onew said as he handed Hyuk a picture of both of the boys.

“I’m going back to high school?”

“Yes you are. You will fit in. Do not let anyone find out you are a secret agent and most importantly do not this up or you will be sent back to your old department…that is if they’ll even take you back. You’ll start school next week Monday. That is all. You can leave now,” Onew said and Hyuk quickly took his leave from the room.

“So you’re going back to high school,” N said scaring Hyuk. Hyuk was breathing hard and clutching onto his chest as he glared at N.

“You shouldn’t just sneak up on people like that.”

“I was standing here the whole time. You should have better instincts to know when someone is near. You’re lucky though, Onew went easy on you.”

“That was him going easy on me?” Hyuk was scared for his life in there and he couldn’t even imagine what Onew being really mad would be like.

“Yea, anyway aren’t you excited to be going back to school? Maybe taking gym again will help build up your stamina and strength,” N joked as he pat his back before walking away from Hyuk.

“I’m not that out of shape!” Hyuk yelled after him, before sighing again. High school is the last place I want to go back to. Hyuk thought to himself.

While Hyuk was thinking about going back to high school N continued down the hall until he reached the familiar room that he always went to after a mission. He opened the door, the room was dark but this was the norm. He slipped of his jeans and shirt, leaving him only in a tank top and his underwear before slipping into the bed. Soon arms wrapped around him and he smiled as he fell into the warmth of the other body.

“Hmm…how did it go?” The person asked his voice still laced with sleep.

“Hyuk ed it up,” N said as he let out a soft breath and settled down further into the bed, trying to relax so that he could go to sleep.

“Onew probably wasn’t too happy with that then,” the person said as he pulled N closer to his body.

“He let him off easy, but let’s talk about work in the morning. I’m tried now Ravi,” N said trying to get snuggle into his warmth as much as possible.

“Alright hyung, let’s sleep,” Ravi said as he placed a kiss on the side of N’s head and they both fell to sleep together in each other’s arms.
