Prologue
A drop in the oceanHe is about to give up on waiting.
All mornings in the days of the past months were spent with eyes hastily scanning the newspaper, skipping through the headlines, opinions of prominent people on current issues, and crosswords and trivias. He doesn't give a damn. All he cares about is finding that name on the list of survivors found on that day; yet, so far, his hopes were failed. The nights were spent in endless longing and basking in anxiety, in fear of loss. Curled up in bed with the sheets around him, he repeats her name like a mantra, as if doing so would bring her back, every letter and syllable perfect as it rolls down his tongue.
Jung Soojung.
Her laughter warmer than sunshine, her smile etched with happiness yet there is the hint of sophistication. And her eyes the snapshot of innocence--
Soojung...
At times, she's there sitting beside him on the bus, head rested on his shoulder until he turns his head. Arms wrapped around him until he returns the embrace. Lips soft against his before vanishing into thin air. It's all just hopeless dreams and déja-vu; lies he's been telling to himself.
And when he closes his eyes, he sees her again. She's everywhere. Krystal's sunshine smi
