It was a bright June afternoon; it was the perfect day to hang out with friends, spend time with the family and have a date with your boyfriend. Somewhere, somehow, someone is doing those things, but as for Cho Sul Jung; she’s sitting outside of Starbucks with a latte cupped on her slender hands, slowly watching the world go by. It may seem like a perfect day, but honestly, it was just another day to grieve, rage and fake. A sigh escaped Sul Jung’s cherry lips, it was no use to bask in the sun’s glory with the mood she has at the moment. She has to go home, pronto!

     As Sul Jung made her way towards her house, the sound of a low pitched instrument reached her ears, stopping her in her tracks. She quickly snapped her head around towards the direction of the sound and dragged her feet across the cold, grave cement in front of the fountain. There, she found a woman with short blonde hair, blue piercing eyes and a cello. She began to play her instrument intently that she didn’t even seem to notice the presence of Sul Jung, but nonetheless she stayed to listen. As the bow gracefully danced across the soft strings, Sul Jung could feel herself captivated by it. 

No words could’ve described the beauty of her song. The images and emotions that the wooden string instrument made were so vivid that Sul Jung couldn’t help but get lost in her own thoughts.

      They told her of a girl that was once trapped within the walls of her heart. Her parents were always arguing that she grew afraid of everything. One day her world began to crumble down; parents divorce, brother dies of overdose and sister makes an unforgettable escape. Her mother began withdrawing herself from everyone and continues to lock herself inside the white room, leaving her remaining daughter to fend for herself.
     Years later, the walls of her heart gave way and let the most amazing guy in. Things started to look up; a new family, new friends and new love. But things didn’t turn out the way she had hoped for, everything vanished once more. Life seemed cruel and untrustworthy but that didn’t stop her. With a new found determination she began to build her life up with her own two hands, never caring nor trusting about anything or anyone else.
     Fortunately, her work had made a break through. She now lives with her adopted children, trustworthy friends and her cello, the one thing that has been with her through thick and thin. She now occasionally breaks but now there’re people that are willing to fix her. She was finally getting her happy ending.  

The song ended, snapping Sul Jung back to reality. The woman smiled warmly towards her and handed her a tissue. Confused, Sul Jung touched her cheeks, only to discover that it was damp. She hadn’t realized she had been crying silently up to now. She slowly extended her hands towards and accepted the woman’s offering. Who could’ve thought she would ever cry while listening to someone play the cello and not when her boyfriend cheated on her.   
     Her life was one heck of a roller coaster ride.
