The Long Awaited Reunion

The Hatter came back with canister full of water.

“Alice?” he called

He looked around

Yuri bit her lip and tried to hide her satisfied smile. They were already at the gates of the Red Kingdom. She watched as Yoona looked around with a face full of fascination. She eyed the gates that was decorated in white roses and drove her fingers towards the petals.

“Ow” she flinched back. She observed her pointer covered in blood and brought it to .

“It`s called the Red Kingdom right?”

Yuri nodded

“Then why are the roses white?”

“Our royal gardeners made a mistake and misplaced the seeds. We will be replacing them once winter comes. “

“Why don’t you simply paint them red?”

Yoona`s mouth widened. Suddenly, she felt a familiar chill run down her spine. As if a movie was being played into her head, she recalled a scene that she had long forgotten about

“Paint them?” a little boy`s voice echoed within her ears

She took a step back and spun around

“I don’t feel well, I would like to take a break”

“But were already at the gates” Yuri stared at her suspiciously

“Are you well, Alice of Wonderland?”

Yoona took a long look at the Kingdom. There were hearts plastered everywhere, On clothing, buildings, faces, the streets.

Yuri caught her eyeing the hearts on the road.

“The King enjoys looking at hearts. It’s sort of an… obsession of his”

“He sounds like a ert to me” Yoona whispered

Yuri grabbed her arm and started to drag her towards the kingdom

“We don’t have time, He might catch up”

Yoona fought back. She didn’t remember, but she was absolutely positive at this point that the Red Kingdom wasn’t a good place for her”

They were suddenly surrounded by 5 men wearing masks covering their forehead, cheeks, nose, and mouth

“Bring her in” Yuri demanded and Yoona didn’t bother to struggle in such a hopeless fight

Yoona followed 8 feet behind Yuri and ignored the 5 men coming up so close to her, she could hear them breathing like Darth Vader through their masks.

She found herself presented in front of a throne, back faced towards her.

“You may all leave now” a husky, dominant voice commanded

The guards and Yuri left the room and now it was just Yoona and the ‘ert’ King

When he came out of his seat and turned to Yoona, she was surprised at her own reaction

He was gorgeous. Fairer skin than her own, a straight, defined nose, eyes that were the color of newly blossomed roses, and pink, thin lips that curled up as he saw her. Yoona broke her mesmerized stare and looked away.

“Alice, Welcome Home”

He walked towards her and grabbed her wrist roughly and brought her chin up to his face

Yoona, in pain, attempted to slip her hands out of his grip. It only made his hands close tighter onto her arm.

“I`ve been waiting for you”

It wasn’t a threatening tone, but it definitely wasn’t a greeting tone either. Yoona saw an aura of sadness emitted from his eyes.

She trembled in fear as he continued to gaze at her

“Alice, Possessor of my Heart, won`t you finally put an end to my suffering?”
