Roughly putting on the thin, light blue hoodie with its long sleeves rolled up carelessly halfway, and throwing on his favorite grey sweatpants, Taemin slipped on his flip flops and walked out the door. He made sure the door was securely locked before he left for Sehun's room, as Kai was taking his time in the bathroom. Ugh, that call just ruined my mood. I need to forget about it, nothing will happen... The thoughts of the last call on his phone sneaked their way into Taemin's mind, as he tried to desperately forget about them. He was definitely going to do something about it, but not now. He needed some time and space alone to think about it, some other day perhaps. 

"Sehunnie! Chanyeollie!~" Taemin sang as he rapped on the door. He chuckled lightly at the nicknames he'd given them. The door to 2510 soon swung open, and a rather cheery Sehun greeted Taemin. "Yah, hyung! You're finally here!" The maknae faked a pout, yet welcoming his hyung with open arms into the well-furnished room. This was what Taemin adored about Sehun; his never failing warm welcome to his hyung no matter how elated or despondent he felt on the inside. Taemin returned with a playful smirk, "At least I bothered to come!" which was greeted by a light punch on his shoulder by Sehun. "Oww, that hurt, Sehunnie!" Taemin pretended to grimace in pain, yet couldn't help but giggle at the still pouting Sehun. 

"I know I know let's play a game! Let's play truth or dare!" Chanyeol the happy virus jumped excitedly on the bed. "Chanyeol...there's only three of us!" Taemin and Sehun sighed and mentally facepalmed at the same time, nevertheless finding Chanyeol cute though. "It's okay, it'll be fun!!" The little ball of excitement bounced. The other two boys couldn't help but laugh and agree. The pointer (which was Chanyeol's gay ducky pencil case) was spun and landed facing Sehun first. "Truth!! I'm not gonna do something stupid." Sehun immediately voted, grumbling a bit. Chanyeol shot him that innocent yet deep down evil smile, continuing, "Since we were on that topic last night...Who was your first love?" Chanyeol smirked evilly. "Y-Yah...that's not fair. I haven't had a girlfriend before..." Sehun stuttered momentarily, cheeks turning red. "A crush is also possible!!" Taemin was also egging Sehun on, seemingly getting into the mood. Sehun blushed even harder, biting his lips as his heartbeat gave a playful flutter. "I-I don't-don't have a crush..." Chanyeol grinned. "Yah, don't deny it! Even if you didn't have a crush before...what about presently? Don't think I don't know about your Luhan," he smiled smugly yet teasingly. At that moment, the red tinge crept up the whole of Sehun's face, as the temperature of his face increased significantly. His heart beat so rapidly at the sound of Chanyeol's words. L-Luhan? Sehun gulped hoping it would take the temperature off his burning face. "Chanyeol you ...ugh fine I do like that boy...a little..." Sehun groaned, while Chanyeol and Taemin just laughed at his cuteness. "Yah, don't you think we actually don't know about it! You're always gushing over Luhan, and that day in the music room was a total giveaway man," Chanyeol clicked his tongue, shaking his head at the blur maknae. "Alright alright, let's move on!" Chanyeol didn't want to embarrass Sehun further. "Hah! I'm so lucky keke" Chanyeol teased as the pointer landed towards Taemin. "Obviously truth..." Taemin chuckled. "Neh, so boring you guys. I'll do a dare when it's my turn!" Chanyeol whined at the lack of spontaneousness. Nevertheless, "Hmm...I shan't be too harsh on you, keke. Have you ever felt how it feels like to be in love?" Chanyeol was so much nicer to Taemin, and Sehun rolled his eyes. "Eh...nope I've never been in love, I guess..." Taemin was slightly embarrassed, but he couldn't help his situation. "Let's not play this game anymore then, keke. Let me tell you about love my dear Taeminnie!!" Chanyeol exclaimed, slightly interested in this topic. "WTF THAT'S HARDLY FAIR!" Sehun whined loudly. "Shut up Sehun, that was kinda my sole purpose for the game anyways, so deal with it" Chanyeol brushed him off with a giggle.

The night ended off as usual, Sehun and Chanyeol trying to make Taemin stay over, but he didn’t want Kai to fall asleep and then wake up alone. Not that it would make much difference if he slept there, but he would feel bad if he didn’t, for some reason. So Taemin made his way back to his own room for the night. The hallways were completely dark, and Taemin couldn't see anything if there was, even if someone was coming his way. The lights must have went off, damn it.  Taemin groaned, trying to fumble his way back to his room. It was already 11pm and he was having difficulty maneuvering his way back. At the same time, Kai was having difficulty as well. The boy's dyed grey hair was messily ruffled up as he tossed and turned in his bed on the lower deck. His eyes couldn't force themselves shut as his thoughts kept lingering on the earlier incident. He had come to terms that ever since Taemin appeared, he'd messed up whatever plans he had in his life, either because he always felt the need to help that blur kid or just because he wanted his company. The last part was something he didn't want to admit to anyone, especially himself, though. Frustrated with what was it that he felt for the boy, which he couldn't put a finger on, Kai got up and wanted to make his way up to the place in the school he had always been to when he needed to clear his thoughts. He would probably be able to...sort out his thoughts and what he was going to do? Or so Kai hoped. 

"AHHHHH!!" Two loud shrieks were heard in unison, as Kai bumped into Taemin along the dark hall, causing both boys to fall to the floor in shock on their rears. Both of them started cursing at the other for a short while, before they each realized the voices were sort of familiar. That deep yet not so deep voice... Taemin scratched his head as he tried to put a finger on the owner of the voice. Eh? Who is that...he has that annoyingly cheeky voice... Kai furrowed his brows, and his face lit up the moment he whispered in a strong voice, "Taemin?!" Taemin's face jerked up from its lowered thinking position. "Ah? Kai?!" Taemin registered as relief flooded his face. He was relieved that it was Kai, for some weird reason. "What are you doing here?!" Taemin's tone changed into a hushed one, as he realized he didn't want to wake the other students up. Kai's face softened into a warm smile as he contemplated bringing Taemin with him. He needed to tell that boy something that was always lingering on the back of his mind, anyway. The incident earlier just triggered it, he wanted to help Taemin but he had to start somewhere. Taemin didn’t even know that he knew about it, so how was he going to help like that? "Want to come with me? I'm going to the garden dome." A slight smirk played on the edges of Kai's lips as he added, noticing the silence from Taemin as he was probably wondering where that was, and why they were going there,  "It's near the rooftop. Few people know about it, though. I always go there when I need to clear my thoughts, want to be the privileged few who get to go there? It's beautiful up there." Kai smiled at the image of the dome in his mind, although he knew Taemin couldn't see it. Ever since Taemin realized it was Kai, he had been tightly holding on to his roommate's hand, sort of feeling afraid that Kai might just walk away from him, leaving him to find his away around alone. It was rather subconsciously, but Kai didn't seem to mind. 

"S-Sure..." Taemin said in a hushed whisper, nodding his head although Kai couldn't see it. Kai intertwined and laced their fingers around each other's, and led Taemin to the nearest lift. That was to ensure Taemin didn't get lost while trying to catch up with Kai. An unexpected tingle of senses ran up both of their hands as soon as their skin touched, though, just like the first time in dance class. 

                                                                                                      ***

"We're here," Kai breathed deeply as he took in the familiar sight of the beautiful garden dome where he used to frequent during the period when he had lots on his mind due to some problems with his parents' assets earlier this year. It seemed they had left him a house in a seaside town off Seoul, but his uncle claimed that they had given it to him instead as he even had the title deed. He was still fighting for it even now, with his uncle, but he didn't want to bring it up often. It just made him angrier and more sorrowful about his parents' death. 

Kai's thoughts were interrupted as Taemin let go of his hand, walking in small steps towards the centre of the dome where all the beautiful flowers grew. There was even a telescope to view the bright, shining night stars. "Woah...it's really beautiful up here." Taemin drank in the sight before him. Large and small flowers of at least 50 species and colours bloomed open before him, blending the dome with its myriad of colours from coral pink to sea blue. Kai chuckled as he strolled over to where Taemin was, his hands casually tucked in his pockets. "I know right? I love it here. And I think you'll like it too." Kai winked at Taemin as he started to climb onto the wooden box to elevate himself to the level of the telescope. "I do, I really like it here, it's so...magical." Taemin pondered over the correct word to describe the place, due to his limited vocabulary. As Taemin looked through the hole of the telescope, his hands were placed on either side of the handles. "Here, let me help you." Kai climbed swiftly up and stood behind Taemin, his delicate hands placed over Taemin's to help him with the use of the telescope. The telescope turned from one extreme end to the other, allowing Taemin to view the large expanse of the shining sky in a magnified way. Woah, so pretty... Taemin thought. "T-Taemin..." Kai suddenly leaned in to whisper against Taemin's ear. "Mmm?" How do I say this "I-You-You know you can...um I mean you can always tell me if you have any problems, okay? Because that's what roommates are for, right?" Kai smiled. "Waeyo? Why do you suddenly say that?" Taemin asked, curious. "Because...I just think that we can trust each other more now, okay? I know I can trust you...so you can trust me too, okay? Just know that I'll be there when you need help...when you share your problems you'll solve it faster and when you successfully go through a problem, you'll become more successful in the future," Kai for once, spoke from his heart. What he really felt, and advice from his past experiences. Taemin beamed upon knowing that Kai now trusted him more. He was really happy with that. "Mmm sure, Kai, I will. Thank you~" Taemin turned to wrap Kai in a hug, smiling. Kai's lips naturally curved into a smile as well, and he thought that maybe, just maybe, they were already friends. I guess it won't hurt to let another person into my life, Kai thought and beamed. Not knowing why, Taemin's heart fluttered just ever so slightly at Kai's next words. Whether because it was Kai who said it, or because he found hope in those words. "Taemin, just remember this, okay? Stars can't shine without darkness."
