“Hi, how can I help you?” I asked a tall male with short black hair.

“Yes, do you have this in red?” he answered back. I sighed on the inside but smiled on the outside.

“Let me go check for you,” I said as I walked to the back store. Once I reached my destination, I held up the shirt to the others and asked if they had in the particular color.

“Well hello to you too Jonghyun,” a guy with brown hair said.

“Yeah, we do have this in red,” smiled a younger male with bright red hair. I took the shirt without saying anything and went back to the customer.

“He always has an attitude,” the male with brown hair spoke as he watched Jonghyun with the customer. “I don’t how he does so well with customers.” The younger male shrugged and continued folding clothes.

“Thanks a lot man,” the guy smiled as he walked to check out. Ugh.

“Jonghyun,” I heard the manager call out.

“Yes?” I answered once I reached him.

“You can take the rest of the day off, you did very well,” he praised me as he was looking at today’s sales. I smirked.

“Thank you,” I bowed and went into the back to get my stuff.

“Hey Jonghyun, where are you going?” asked the red headed male.

“Hopefully somewhere to get an attitude check,” the brown haired male spat.

“I’m going home,” I answered after a while.

“Awww, no fair,” the boy pouted. “Wanna hang out with Key hyung and I?”

I scoffed and walked out the back and then out of the store without looking back or answering.

“Taemin, I don’t get why you even waste your time with him,” Key sighed as he unpacked boxes.

“He’ll some around one day,” the hopeful Taemin smiled.

Jonghyun’s POV:

I’m so happy I can leave that miserable place early. I climbed into my car and proceeded to go home. I hate people and I have for awhile. I’ve been alone for so long now that I don’t need anyone. People cannot be trusted. I pulled into my parking spot in front of my apartment and I got out of my car. On my way there, I heard rustling in the bushes. What the hell is that? I turned around and stared at the bush without moving. What if it’s something dangerous? Jonghyun, snap out of it. A joke maybe? They’d die…I sighed and called out to whatever was in the bush.

“Who’s there?” I asked not sure if I really wanted to know. The noise stopped for a split second, then picked up even louder. I blinked as I tried to figure out what was going on. I went over to the bush and started moving branches out of the way until I saw something light brown. Hm, what’s this? I finally got to where the creature was and saw that it was tangled up in the branches. I couldn’t help but snicker a little at what I saw. There was a baby, golden brown bunny with one little paw stuck on a branch and its cotton tail stuck another one with its free paws flailing around. Cute. After I helped the little creature get lose, he crawled into my hand and looked at up at me with its big brown eyes.

“You’re welcome, little bunny,” I smiled and put it on the ground. As I began to walk away, it followed me.

“No, you can’t come home with me,” I turned around. It just stared at me with its big eyes. I started again to only have the same outcome. I bent down and looked at it.

“Baby bunny, you can’t come home with me. Stay here in your natural habitat,” I got up and finally went to apartment. It feels so good to finally be home. I walked into my apartment and put my stuff down. I started the water for my shower still thinking about the bunny. Sigh, he’ll be fine. As I was finishing up, I heard thunder off into the distance. I guess a storm is coming. I finished getting dressed as I walked into the kitchen. I put some ramen in the microwave as the thunder and now rain began to get louder and closer. I looked out of the window to see where the little creature was. Let it go Jonghyun. I grabbed my ramen out of the microwave and I sat down to eat as a huge clap of thunder and a lightning strike rang throughout the air. I can’t leave him out there in this kind of weather. I sighed to myself as I ran outside.

“It’s raining so hard, where are you bunny?!” I yelled. A few minutes later, I saw a brown ball huddling under a patch of leaves. “Oh, there you are. Come on, I’m taking you with me.”  I picked up the wet ball and I ran back to my apartment. Did I really just run into the pouring rain to save a rabbit…I went to my bathroom and got a towel for the wet creature and myself.

“This should be a lot better,” I said as I rubbed the towel over his body. After I was done, his ears perked up and looked at me with his big eyes. “Are you hungry? Let’s get you something to eat.” We went to the kitchen and sat down where I was before my heroic deed. The bunny sniffed at my ramen.

“No, you can’t have that, that’s mine. I think I have some lettuce in the fridge.” I sat the bunny on the table by the ramen and I went to look for lettuce. I found some and brought it back for him. He looked at the lettuce blankly and took a little nibble. As soon as he did, he immediately backed away from it.

“You don’t like it?” I asked. He put his ears down. I sighed and looked in the fridge for another vegetable. While I was looking, I heard a splash and something fall.

“What hap—WHAT THE HECK?!” I yelled. My ramen spilled all over the table and over the bunny’s lettuce. “Now the whole kitchen smells like chicken flavored ramen, thanks.” I said staring at the baby creature. He sniffed at the soaked lettuce and took a huge bite out of it. I stared at him confused. He continued to eat until the lettuce was gone. “Well then, I guess you like chicken flavored ramen lettuce.” I couldn’t help but laugh. I cleaned up the mess he made and took him the bathroom for a bath.

“I think bunny’s like bath soap,” I shrugged and ran the bath water. I put him in and began washing him. He splashed in the water like an excited child and played with the soap. This is a really weird bunny. I dried him off and we got ready for bed.

“Where are you gonna sleep?” I pondered looking around my bedroom. He jumped out of my hands and landed on the bed. He then hopped up on one of my pillows and made himself comfortable. I stared at him and crossed my arms. Really? Of all places you could have chosen. He stared back at me with baby, pouty face and just laid down. I’ll let him enjoy it for now. I turned the light off and we went to sleep.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

The next morning, I woke up to my alarm going off. Great, another day of this ty job and ty everything. I realized my face was itchy and I wasn’t sure why. I opened my eyes and I saw the bunny’s on my head. What the? Ok, this isn’t gonna work. I set the bunny back on his pillow and left to get ready for work. As I was about to leave, I looked at him. Be good till I come home…and then I was gone.

Onew’s POV:

I’m so comfy. I haven’t slept this well in a long time. I stretched my ears and body out as my stomach started to growl. I’m hungry~. I hopped off of the bed and over to the door. Once I got there, I looked up and realized the doorknob wasn’t even close to me. I sighed. I guess I have to do it…There was a flash of light and it was all over. I opened the door to walk out but my legs gave out and fell. It’s been a while since I was in my human form. My legs feel so weird! I got up and I looked around until I found the fridge.

“Yay~! I finally found it,” I ran over to it and sat in front of it with the door open looking at what to choose.

Jonghyun’s POV:

So soon until I can leave this place. I glanced up at the clock. 5 minutes till my shift is over. Hurry the hell up…I saw a customer who looked like they needed help so I went over to them to have something to do other than watch the clock.

“Taemin, does Jonghyun seem different to you?” Key asked staring at towards Jonghyun.

“No, not really. Why hyung?” Taemin asked as he worked the cash register. Key kept staring at him.

“Well, for one, he seems nicer I guess. Nice isn’t the word, like more friendly I guess, or more happier. Yeah that’s right,” he finally answered.

“Hm, I guess I see what you mean. You think he got a girlfriend?” Taemin asked looking excitedly at Key.

“I doubt it. He hates humankind, remember?” Key answered looking towards Taemin.

“Ooo, then a pet. He probably got a pet,” the two boys looked at each other.

“Nah, unlikely,” they said at the same time. While I was talking to the customer, I noticed that Key and Taemin kept looking in my direction. What’s with them? I walked over to the counter.

“My shift is over, I’m about to leave,” I said grabbing my stuff.

“Where are you in a hurry off to?” Key asked smirking. I sighed.

“My home,” I answered uninterested.  “Can I go now, umma?”

“Wow, Kim Jonghyun made a joke. I never thought I would see the day. What’s at home to make you act so much more pleasurable?” Key asked sarcastically. Taemin let out a giggle. As soon as he said that, I thought about the little bunny I have at home. I smiled a little.

“Omo! He smiled,” Taemin yelped surprised. I looked between him and Key and walked off quickly. Did I really just smile in front of my coworkers? That can’t be happening anymore.

“I told you he was different,” Key said in a boasting tone.

“Your intuition has always been spot on, hyung,” Taemin said looking at him. After my shift I was ready to get home. I wonder what that bunny is doing back at home…I hope he hasn’t ruin my apartment. I started to think about all of the bad things that could have happened.

“Let’s get home,” I said to myself worriedly. I after I arrived at my apartment complex, I nervously made my way to my door. I doubt he’s done anything, he’s just a bunny anyway. I shook my head and unlocked the door and walked in. I heard a small noise so I called out.

“Bunny?” I yelled unsurely. I heard a mumble. Did someone break in? I went over to my closet in the living room and I grabbed my bat. I slowly made my way to where the sound came from. I saw someone sitting in front of the fridge. The person looked back at me with a piece of lettuce hanging out of his mouth.

“Rit rusn’t raste the same~,” he mumbled looking at me.

“Who are you and how did you get into my house?!” I yelled angrily. The boy looked scared as he ran into a corner. I inched closer to him.

“Who are you?” I asked again getting more upset because he didn’t answer me. The boy looked back at me with tears in his eyes.

“ANSWER ME!!” I ordered.

“I’m your bunny!!” he screamed as he started to cry. What the hell? How the does that work?

“Explain yourself,” I said confused.

“I’m a special bunny that can change into a human. I don’t know why I’m like that, that’s just how I’ve always been,” he sniffled.

“Prove it,” I said doubtful that any of it was true. In a matter of seconds, there was a flash of light. After it faded, the little bunny I saved was sitting in the place of the boy. I dropped the bat and stared at him with my mouth wide open as he transferred back into a human.

“Ok, what the actual ??!!” I said with my mind completely blown. “So you are the bunny I saved yesterday?” I asked slowly. He nodded. I just blinked at him as we stared at each other. “Alright, next test. Tell me something that would make me know that you are that bunny.” He looked at me and picked a piece of lettuce that was on the floor.

“This doesn’t taste the same as the lettuce I had yesterday. This is gross, the other one was delicious and tasted like chicken,” he answered calmly making a face at the lettuce.

“Oh my gosh I have a shape-shifting rabbit,” I tried to process. You know what? I can handle this, I just won’t think about it. Yeah, that’s a good idea.

“Oppa~, I’m cold,” he said shivering.

“No wonder, you’re , let’s go find you some clothes,” I said walking to my room.

“I should have some clothes you can fit,” I searched through all of my stuff as the boy sat next to me. “Um, here try this,” I gave him a pair of pajama pants and a loose shirt. He put it on and it seemed to fit him pretty well.

“Thank you oppa~,” he gave a big smile. I couldn’t help but smile back. Wait, what did he just call me?

“What did you just call me?” I asked confused. He smiled at me.

“Oppa~,” he replied proudly.

“Ok, yea that’s not gonna work. You can call me anything but oppa,” I shook my head at him.

“What’s your name?” he questioned.

“Jonghyun, what’s yours?” I wondered. He stared blankly back at me.

“Can I call you Jongie?” he asked gleaming. What the hell? Jongie? “You did say I can call you anything but oppa,” he reminded. Me and my big mouth…

“Since you bring that up, I guess I don’t have a choice,” I sighed. “We should go eat, I’m sure you’re hungry.”

“Very,” he whined. I smiled a little at his cuteness.

“What do you want to eat?” I asked as I walked to the kitchen.

“CHICKEN!!” he yelled as he ran up to me.

“Why chicken?” I questioned curiously.

“Because it is the best thing ever created!” he smiled. A chicken obsessed bunny…only my luck.

“Fine, I’ll order some chicken,” I walked over to the phone and began to place the order. The boy jumped up and down and squealed. He’s really adorable as a bunny and a boy. Jonghyun! Stop thinking like that. “He will be here in about 30 minutes. Let’s take a shower before he gets here.” He nodded and we walked to the bathroom and I started to take my clothes off. I the water and got into the shower. Ahh, so nice. I turned around to grab my soap and I saw the boy behind me smiling.

“What are you doing?!” I asked scared and upset.

“I’m taking a shower with you,” he said innocently.

“Why?” I asked staring at him.

“Isn’t that how it works?” he titled his head at me. Is he serious?

“No it’s not. Usually people take showers by themselves,” I answered.

“But who would wash you?” he asked completely serious.

“Uh, you wash yourself. That’s how it is,” I responded. What is he talking about? This makes no sense. He stared me for a little bit with a thinking expression.

“Well, can I wash you?” he asked still serious.

“Umm, why would you do that?” I questioned completely confused.

“Because that’s my job,” he said back reaching for the soap. I grabbed his hands.

“It’s not your job to wash me, it’s MY job to wash me, ok?” I tried to explain to him. He nodded and continued to reach for the soap. “What are you doing? I thought you understood.”

“I do, but I still want to wash you, Jongie,” he smiled. I felt my face flush.

“Um, sure, do what you want,” I said looking away. What is he thinking? Why would he want to wash me? That’s really weird. I watched him as he ran the lathered cloth carefully all over my body. He was doing a good job. As he bent down to wash my lower body, I couldn’t help but see dangling between his legs. My face flushed again as I looked at it. It’s pretty big for a boy his size. I continued to stare until he stood up. I avoided eye contact with him. He stepped closer and closer to me until we were touching.

“What are--,” I started. He reached his arms around to my back to wash it, as he did that, our members brushed against each other. I froze.

“Stop,” I said as I turned around. “This is how you wash someone’s back,” I said looking behind me. He nodded and began to wash again. Aigo, what was that about? I looked down and realized that I was starting to get excited from the touching. Why is my body reacting this way? I think it’s time to get out. Luckily, he had just finished his so-called job. I rinsed off and left the shower, leaving the bunny in there.

“Jongie? Where are you going?” he called out.

“I’m done, I want to be dressed before the chicken gets here,” I lied. I couldn’t take it anymore. I need to calm myself and body down. I walked quickly back into my room trying to busy myself looking for clothes to put on. Why the hell was he acting like that? Everything he said sounded like a joke but he was so serious. I can’t let anything like that happen again. While I was getting dressed, I heard the doorbell.

“Oh, good, the chicken is here,” I walked to the door to greet a tall male holding a box of chicken. I was paying the delivery guy when I heard the bunny’s voice.

“Jongie, is the chicken here?!” he asked excitedly. I sigh and smiled.

“Yeah it is,” I called back to him. I gave the chicken guy a nod, thanking him for the delivery, then I closed the door. He looks sort of familiar…Before I could even walk away from the door, the bunny almost trampled me trying to get to the chicken.

“Whoa, calm down. It’s not going to run away,” I said a little bit afraid of what he might do to get this chicken.

“But what if it does?” he asked stretching his big, brown eyes at me in a cute way.

“It won’t, I promise,” I tried to reassure him. His eyes turned into half moons as he flashed a big happy smile. We ate the meal in silence for two reasons: the first is that I was amazed at how he was devouring this chicken, and the second was because he didn’t even take a breath.

“Jongie, it was really good, thank you,” he smiled at me after he finished.

“You’re welcome, bunny,” I said still worried at how quickly he ate. “I’m gonna go to bed since I have to go to work in the morning.” I got up and began walking to my bed without realizing I was being followed. I slid under my sheets, getting comfortable when I felt a body against my back and warm breath on my neck. I held my own.

“Bunny?” I asked shakily. He snuggled closer to me.

“I wanted to keep you company,” he pressed his lips against my skin. Jonghyun, don’t freak out. Everything will be ok.

“Ok, good-goodnight.” I closed my eyes and tried to ignore the warm creature behind me.

When I woke up, I found myself spooning the sleeping boy. I slowly got up, trying not to wake him as I made my way to the shower. Once I got done, I saw that he was gone. Where did he go? Ahh, I don’t have time to try to figure out where he is, I gotta go. I grabbed my bag and dashed out to my car.

                                                           <3<3<3

Once I got to work, I dropped my bag off into the back and I went outside to start my shift.

In the back room…

“Come on Taemin-ah, let’s get to work,” encouraged Key.

“Ok hyung,” Taemin replied. He walked around the large room picking up various pieces of clothing and objects. “Hyung, who’s bag is this?” Key looked over at the bag in Taemin’s hand.

“I’m not sure, just put it in a cubby,” he said as he went back to what he was doing. Taemin was about to put the bag away until he heard a noise. He stopped in his tracks and just stared at the bag. “Minnie-ah, stop just standing there, put the bag up and get back to work.”

“I know, but I heard a noise,” he was still staring at the bag. After another minute, Taemin began putting the bag up again. This time instead of a noise, he felt the bag move. “Hyung, there’s something weird about this bag,” he looked at Key worriedly. Key rolled his eyes as he walked over to Taemin.

“What’s wrong with it?” he asked looking at the red-headed boy.

“It moved,” Taemin answered slowly. Key looked at him then at the bag.

“Right. Taemin are you feeling ok?” he asked the younger boy.

“Yes, hyung. I’m serious,” Taemin whined. Key sighed as he flipped his hair.

“So if I poke this bag right now, it will move or make a noise?” he asked in a mildly sarcastic tone. Taemin shrugged, as he was annoyed at the other male. The situation amused Key, so he decided to follow through with what he said. Soon after he poked the bag, something made a sound and began wiggling around.

“See hyung, I wasn’t crazy!” Taemin shouted excitedly. After he finished, the source of their trouble peeked its head out. “OMG it’s a bunny!” He set the bag down and pulled out the little, brown bunny.

“Why is there a bunny in a bag?” Key asked suspiciously.

“Who cares?! It’s so cute,” exclaimed Taemin as he tickled the little animal. It wiggled in his lap and looked up at him. “He is the most adorable thing ever!”

Jonghyun’s POV:

“What is he so excited about?” I asked Key absently.

“He found a bunny,” Key replied with the same tone. I stopped everything and stared at Taemin’s back.

“A bunny?” I asked worriedly.

“Yeah, Jonghyun hyung look,” Taemin excitedly shoved the bunny in Jonghyun’s face. The little bunny jumped into his arms happy to see him. Key stared at the scene intently.

“Seems like he knows you, Jjong,” Key smirked. I began to sweat a little.

“Why is my bag open?” I asked trying to change the subject.

“That’s your bag, hyung?” Taemin stared confused.

“I knew you were somehow involved with it,” Key said confidently. I sighed. Why is this happening? I looked at the bunny blaming him for everything. He still beamed up at me. Why is he even here?

“Ok fine. I found the bunny a couple of days ago. It was caught in a storm so I decided to take it in for a while. Why it’s here now, I have no idea,” I felt my pride drop.

“Aww, look who has a heart. I thought you were just filled with attitude and rudeness,” Key laughed. I rolled my eyes at him.

“So what’s his name?” asked Taemin who was only focused on the adorable creature.

“Name? Uhhh,” I started. I looked at the bunny to see if he would do something but he just stared back not moving. “he doesn’t have one.”

“You didn’t name him?” Key asked confused.

“He’s not mine, so why would I?” I questioned not liking Key’s judging tone.

“Well, let’s name him!” Taemin suggested as he jumped up and down. The little bunny began wiggling his ears out of happiness. I shrugged. “How about Donghae?”

“No, it doesn’t fit him, what about…Minseok?” Key came back. I shook my head.

“Pick a name that starts J,” I mentioned.

“How can you order us to pick a certain name when you haven’t even suggested anything,” Key crossed his arms.

“Fine, what about Joonmyeon?” I suggested angrily. Taemin and Key looked at each other.

“No,” they said in unison. I scoffed and poked the bunny who then snuggled closer.

“I got it! Jinki,” Taemin clapped happily. Key and I looked at each other and nodded. The bunny jumped out of my arms and into Taemin’s.

“I guess he likes it,” Key smiled at the new Jinki. I smiled to myself. Jinki.

“Well my shift is over, so we’re going home,” I said grabbing my bag. The two boys said goodbye to Jinki and we left. Once we got into the car, I gave Jinki a piece of my mind.

“Do you have any idea what could have happened if anyone else found you?” I asked very upset. He sunk into my bag. “Don’t feel bad now, you should have thought about that before. When we get home you better explain to me what you were thinking.” With that, we pulled into the parking lot. Once we got into the house, Jinki transformed as I looked at what to cook for dinner. Jinki came to me in the kitchen when I realized he was .

“Jinki, you just can’t be , you have to wear clothes,” I explained trying to avoid eye contact. He nodded and went to put on the clothes I gave him earlier. I was sitting at the table when he came back fully clothed.

“I’m waiting,” I tapped my finger on the table. He looked down.

“Jongie, I’m really sorry,” he began to cry. I sat up more becoming worried that he was crying. “I promise I won’t do it again, I’m sorry, please don’t punish me,” he continued to cry as he got on his knees pleading in front of me. I didn’t know what to do. I just stared at him with my mouth open.

“Jinki, calm down. I’m not that upset, why would I punish you?” I asked as I held the boy.

“Because I was bad and I could have gotten you in trouble. I’m sorry, I just wanted to spend more time with you,” he sobbed. My heart began to melt at his words.

“Jinki, look at me and stop crying. I’m not mad at you, ok? I’m not going to punish you or yell at you so stop worrying. You’ve had a long day so let’s put you to bed,” I hugged the boy in my arms. He nodded and we began walking to my bed. I tucked him in bed and ruffled his hair. Once I was back in the kitchen, my head was swimming with thoughts. Why did he react that way? Why was he so scared of me? I don’t think I was harsh or anything. Ugh, no matter, I can’t kick him out when he’s having reactions like that over something simple. It’s weird and it worries me…I shook my head. I guess that means I have a new pet and roommate.
