Chapter 2
Summer Spirit [Looking for Co-Author! Inbox me if Interested!]Nana woke up with a Nana woke up with a headache the usual which happened whenever she cried before she fell asleep.
For some reason she had a strange sense of energy. She felt that she could take on the world.
She walked down the stairs and sat at her usual place at the table.
Then she remembered her previous predicament. The six new members of her supposed family filed into the
dining room and placed themselves around the table. The one called Tao was to her right and Chen to her
left. Mrs. Honda walked in with her usual smile on her face. "Goodmorning everyone, I trust that your first night
here went well." She chattered cheerfully as she served everyone their breakfasts. It was eggs, bacon and
toast. Western food. She definetly liked these boys, Mrs. Honda almost never made anything non Japanese.
"Yes, we all slept very well." Kris replied nodding his head politely. Nana thought he was the 'leader' of the
group. Everyone usually looked to him to answer questions. Or perhaps it was because he knew the most
Japanese out of them all. Nana remembered her friendsbused to complain whenever they had Japanese
lessons in school. But Nana always took the classes seriously and even went for extra lessons at a cram
school where she learned Mandarin. "Well anyway Nana is more than happy to show you boys around, isn't
that right dear?" Nana snapped.out of her thoughts as soon as she heard this. "Uh, sure.... I guess." Ugh. She
groaned inwardly. Of course something like this would happen. After they finished eating, Nana stood and
headed to the door. She paused when she heard six other sets of feet behind her. She sighed. For the first
few minutes they walked in utter silence. "There isn't much to do around here, but the people are friendly, and
every once jn a while we'll have some of the neighbours over so... try to get along I guess...." she trailed off
awkwardly. The guys nodded in unison. "of course" for the next while there was more silence. Nana hated
speaking to people first, but the silence was so stifling she had to. "So is there any particular reason why you
chose this part of Japan to study in? I mean there's nothing really remarkable around here." They all either
shrugged or chuckled. Kris was the only one that gave a verbal response. "To be honest this was the place
with the cheapest flights" "oh I see" Nana nodded in understanding. That was the exact way she met the
Hondas. Price trumped many things in Nana's life. "what about you Nana, why are you here?" Luhan asked.
"The same reason as you guys. Tokyo is too expensive for me." She laughed slightly. The truth hurt a bit. But
she was used to the feeling. After the tour of the small town. Nana showed them the school. "Wahh~ its a good
thing I'm here on scholarship. Otherwise I'd be broke from tuition~" Tao whined. Nana flinched at his cute tone.
Here she was thinking he was some sort of badass with his dark eyes, piercings and silent attitude. But really
he was kinda cute. You might as well get used to them all. Nana thought. She cringed at the thought of
spending the remainder of her years with these people. But she pushed down her displeasure and kept
walking. They arrived at the house in time for lunch. "Nana-chan why don't you help the boys finish
unpacking? " Mrs. Honda said with a smile. Inwardly sighing she nodded and trudged upstairs waiting for her
housemates. "Can I help you with anything?" Xiumin shook his head "No it's alright, I'm almost done." She went
to Tao "Do you need any help?" He smiled and shook his head again. She asked almost everyone if she could
do anything to make unpacking easier and all of them declined her offer. Nana was getting upset not because
she didn't want to help, but because she wanted to help and no one was letting her. Finally she came to Lay.
"Do you need help?" she offered. He looked at her blankly, processing her question, then after what was an all
too long pause her replied. "Yeah okay. Thank you. Could you please take out the things from in that box?" He
asked pointing to the small wooden crate in the corner of his and Luhan's room. Nana carefully took out the
delicate trinkets that were inside. One picture in a black frame caught her eye. It was what seemed to be a
younger Luhan and....her sister?! It was defiantly Sah Eh, around the time she was ten. Nana's fingers
trembled with the boiling rage that seeped inside her body. Even still, that woman would haunt her every
movement. "Who is this?" She asked aloud. Maybe it was all in her imagination. There was no way Luhan
would know Sah Eh! Nana would have known! Or would she....? Before she knew it, Luhan walked over and
snatched the frame from her hands. "OOps that's mine, i wonder how that got in your stuff Lay?" He laughed
nervously and returned to the other side of the room. Nana eyes him warily. She was almost certain he was
hiding something. Finally when they were done unpacking it was just Lay and Nana. Lay sat on his bed with a
sigh. He patted the spot next to him and Nana sat reluctantly. She was a bit nervous being so close. But now
she could really see how handsome Lay was. His flawless milky skin seemed illuminated by the afternoon
sunlight. His chocolate brown hair seemed silken and his rosy lips looked soft, inviting like his warm eyes and
demeanor. She blushed scolding herself for such thoughts. But who could blame her? And Lay wasn't the only
good looking one. Come to think of it, all of her new housemates were hot enough to be famous! "Hmm?" Lay
met her gaze with a wondering look. "oh, uhm..." Flustered she played with a stray piece of hair. Lay smiled at
her. "So I guess it's a little weird living here with us all now?" He asked. She nodded still a bit flushed. "Yeah
there's never been any other tenants here before." "How long have you been here?" Lay asked
"Since I finished middle school." Nana replied. Lay blinked in shock "You left home at such a young age?"
Nodding Nana said nothing. His eyes filled with an emotion she couldn't quite place.
Sympathy? Perhaps even sadness?
"It must have taken alot for you to come here all by yourself." He said softly.
Nana was struck by his words.
She'd never had anyone's sympathy towards her. No one had ever pityied her.
Not that there was anything wrong with that. But it felt nice to have someone recognize her acheivements.
Maybe it was the sunshine, but Nana felt a new type of warmth envelope her.
