October 2009 - KBS BROADCAST STUDIO/ SEOUL, KOREA

PD-nim could not be more stressed. Not only had he spilt coffee on his pants this morning while driving to work and arrived 20 minutes late because he had to go home and change, he just got out of a meeting with the producers for 'Hello Baby Season 2' and they threw a wrench in his carefully thought out script plan. 

The show last season did extremely well, better than anticipated actually. SNSD had been the main casts last season and this time around SHINee had been selected. They boys were not yet informed but everything had been cleared with their manager and SM's board of directors. PD-nim had already casted the baby that would be in the show: Jung Yougeun. He was a very cute and lively 3 year old that the staff and himself just loved.

They had already planned out the first few episodes and were smoothing some details down when he got called into the meeting. The producers were very excited to have a male lead this time around, especially one that targeted young and old females. However last season they had a very loyal male audience and they didn't want the rating to drop from the male population as well. In other words they wanted a female cast, and not a female celebrity as that would take away from SHINee's presence. 

But where on EARTH would he find a girl in Korea that WASN'T obsessed with SHINee? Or try and hurt them like an anti-fan of some sort? Or faint at their very presence? Or - the outcomes were just too many. PD-nim sighed as his assistant walked into the office. 

"PD-nim you look really tired" the assistant set down a cup of warm tea on the PD's desk. The sky was darkening behind his office curtains and he could hear his employees and those above him leaving for the evening.

He took the cup of tea and smiled wearily at the tall younger man in front of him.

"I need to find a female co-star to be in Hello Baby along side SHINee, but I'm pretty sure it's a near impossible task." he scruffed up his jet black hair with one hand resting his elbow down on the desk.

"What did the Jung's say when you informed them about a female lead?" 

PD-nim let out a bigger sigh than before, he forgot about his phone call he made just after the meeting. And the Jung's special request. He took a swing of the tea letting the hot liquid scald his throat, he set the cup back down with a small 'tap'.

"They requested something actually..."

"Oh?" the assistant perked up, "what sort or request?" he asked curiously.

"They want Yougeun to be introduced to foreign cultures early in life. Something about being exposed to things at an early age to be more open minded in his future.", the PD recalled scrunching his brow as he remembered his conversation with the little boys parents.

The assistant sat a bit confused "So a girl not from Korea?"

"No", PD-nim looked up from the cup he'd been staring at the entire time, "a complete foreigner. Not asian at all."

"Oh!" the assistant replied in a bit of shock. For such a request is quite different from what most Korean's would want...usually they aren't ones to welcome complete FOREIGN people to start looking after their children so willingly. 

"But where am I going to find an international girl to co-star along side SHINee while taking care of a 3 year old boy? Hmmm? I can't just have an open casting call! What if we get a crazed fan or something? It'll just be time consuming...ugggg. I just don't know where to start and I only have a few more months before we begin filming." The PD started yanking at his medium locks again, frustrated, tired...annoyed.

The assistant let out a sigh slightly smiling at his flustered boss.

"Well hyung if you want to take your mind off of your 'baby' crisis maybe you should take a peek at these intern applications we received. They need to be looked at right away if were going to have anyone this winter." the assistant pulled the stack of papers he'd been caring the entire time. How come the PD never noticed that monstrous pile until now? His eyes bulged a bit and then shaking his head he pointed to a spot on his desk for him to set the papers. 

"Have a good night hyung. I'll be leaving now."

The assistant politely left as his boss, looking flustered, took another gulp of his beverage.

PD-nim gave a lazy wave and turned his tired and stress ridden eyes to the pile in front of him....

Several stacks later PD-nim had decided on only one candidate so far to have intern this winter. Just as he was about to call it a night and finish the others in the morning his eyes spotted a photo of a girl. Not just any girl, a foreign girl, a non asian girl...perhaps the answer to his 'baby' crisis.

He pulled up the file and began to scan over her profile. 

"Living in Canada....mhhmmm.....19 years old.....alright....journalism student...." A smile crept on to the PD's lips as his tired eyes suddenly looked bright once again.

"I think I just found our girl."

OCTOBER 2009 UNIVERSITY DORM/ REGINA, CANADA

She stood there speechless. The piece of paper she held in her hands slipped from her fingers, but she didn't notice. She couldn't even breath for heavens sake. It was as if time had stopped all together. She slowly made her way to her bed from the room door which she was almost glued too. She sat down gingerly on her red plaid duvet. She took a few deep breaths and then a smile creeped on her face. Her heart started to race as the news finally sunk into her thick skull. 

She was going to KOREA. Not only was she finally going to the country she had hoped to go to for such a long time now...she was also interning at one of the biggest broadcast stations around; KBS. 

She sighed in happiness and excitement as she bounded off the bed and with shaky hands picked up the paper once more.

"I, Megan _____ am finally going to intern in SEOUL. Life could not get much better than this." she stated to no one in particular.

Little did she know it could....
