The Highest Angel

Description

It was raining that day. The day God decided that it was time. He called upon his highest angel and walked with him down the crystal blue lake. God had been silently watching the angel for centuries; seeing how he progressed through his training. He was the only angel who could handle this job; God was sure of it.

“Leeteuk,” God spoke his name and Leeteuk looked up at him in curiosity.

“Yes, father?”

“It is time.”

Leeteuk never really understood God. He was always very vague when he spoke and he hardly ever spoke really. All Leeteuk knew was that it was very serious. He pursed his lips together and continued to be in his world of thinking; not noticing God turn to face him.

“You will go to Earth today.” Leeteuk’s eyes widened. Why him? He knew nothing of Earth and the strange humans who inhabited it. Surely there were other angels God could have chosen; ones who were better skilled in that area than him.

“But, father I-” God interrupted him by putting his hand on his shoulder.

“I have faith in you my son. The Dawn of  the Red Day is approaching and you are the only angel who can stop it.”

“D-Dawn of The- But I thought that was just a fable.”

“No, it is very real. You must go down to Earth to collect more information about it and stop it before it happens.” Leeteuk knew that there was no use arguing with God himself, but he really felt unprepared.

When he thought about it, he seemed like the worse person for the job. Leeteuk could admit that he himself didn't have the best temper. He was also very impatient. People also said that he was arrogant, but he wouldn't go that far.

The main reason he didn't want to go was because he didn't want the humans to taint his holiness with their….humanness. From what he was told, humans lie, deceive, and plot against anyone and anything. In all truth, he was scared.

“F-father, I can’t. I’m the wrong person for this completely.”

“The decision has been made. Goodbye my son.”

Leeteuk’s eyes widened as the cloud from under him began to dissipate. Everything around him blurred up and soon disappeared from his sight. He was falling; fast. He quickly found hate in the newly discovered gravity for his wings were now harder to use.

Leeteuk found himself hitting the ground; hard. Groaning to himself he rose to his feet, albeit wobbling but on his feet nonetheless. He looked around nervously at the hustle and bustle or everyday life. As every second passed, he knew that he was very wrong for the mission.
