It was snowing outside and it was Kibum’s favourite time of the year. The festive songs that everyone knew and sang along to, even if they didn’t want to, signifying the arrival of Christmas. He watched the icy flakes fall from the sky like graceful ballerinas sent from the Heavens as they melted into each other in an eternal embrace before lying to rest on the ground with their brothers and sisters.

He smiled as he felt a warm hand take purchase on his bony shoulder.

“You ready?” The gentle voice asked, Kibum nodding his response, smiling widely as he felt himself being moved away from the window.

Jinki‘s strong arms pushing him out into the chilly fresh air, the scratchy sound of wheels rubbing against the stony pathway as they reached the front gate.

“It’s beautiful,” he croaked out, his voice weak but still holding pure happiness.

“I love you, Kibum” Jinki said then, and Kibum didn’t need to turn his head around in his chair to know that the older boy was crying.
