At first, I didn’t notice. The dress she was wearing matched the bright green grass making it hard for me to make her out from the scenery. It didn’t help that I had forgotten to bring my glasses with me and my vision was a bit blurry.
It had been a while since I had become so absent-minded that I lost things easily and forgot to –as a great example – to bring my glasses with me. Not only that, also my wallet, pasport etc.

I was making  my way to the big oak tree that grew in the near-by neighbourhood when I noticed a movement. It was barely noticable, very sleek and graceful.
Only a few meters away I noticed her sitting there. She didn’t look up, her eyes concentrated on the black covered book in her hands.

I was almost next to her when she finally looked up.
She looked disturbed and a bit confused. The girls eyes wandered around for a brief moment. Then she got up from the ground, closing her book before doing so, bowed quickly and walked away in a rushed manner.

I didn’t think of it much. I’ve seen very different people in my life and it gets harder and harder to confuse or surprise me by each day.

Taking the place where she had sat just a moment ago I let my head rest on the hard skin of the oak tree. The hard surface felt good. Natural and real.

The feeling was fresh.

I had been there a couple of times already. Had found it recently while browsing around the place.

That day, the wind was blowing from the left bringing the sweet scent of lilac right to my nose, I breathed it in and felt the corners of my lips moving upwards.

This could be home.
