Foreword;
“Jaekyu-yah, what do you want for breakfast today?” Jongin asked his daughter, as she walked out of her room.
She yawned, before she replied with, “I want some eggs and bacon, but if you can’t cook that, then I just want some cereal.”
Jongin chuckled, before he got off his seat.
“I’m pretty sure your dad can handle cooking eggs and bacon.”
“That’s what you said about the pancakes last time, but that obviously didn’t work out,” Jaekyu teased.
Jongin scowled, before he ruffled Jaekyu’s hair.
“Go get some rest, while I call for take out. You have your piano recital today,” he reminded.
Jaekyu nodded her head, before she ran to her room.
“Kids these days...” Jongin chuckled, before he grabbed his cell phone to call his wife.
He needed her to pick up some food on her way home from the market.
Jaekyu yawned, as she flipped through her magazine. She was kind of bored of reading it for the nth time. She turned around to look for something to do. She reached for her book, before she heard a ‘beep’ from her phone.
“Hello?”
“Omigosh Jaekyu, you need to come outside right now!” her friend, Haesoon, exclaimed.
"What? Why?" she asked in excitement. Finally, something interesting is going to happen today.
"They're announcing the Infinite concert attendees in the sky, and you're on the list!"
Jaekyu gasped.
"You're kidding me!" she yelled.
"I'm not! Omigosh just go outside!" she replied.
"Okay, okay, I'll talk to you later then!" Jaekyu told her, before she hung up.
She rushed out of her room in excitement. Yoonhae and Jongin looked at her in amusement.
"What happened?" Yoonhae asked, as Jaekyu lunged toward the door.
"They announced the winner for the contest in the sky! I'll be back soon, I promise!" she exclaimed, before she ran out. Her eyes zoomed toward the sky, and a large gold banner that read: Inspirit contest winners gather! A bunch of names were placed under the title but one stuck out to her. It was the bold, golden letters that read “Kim Jaekyu”, meaning that she was the ultimate winner, and she gets to choose two friends to come with her, and she gets to go backstage and meet Infinite for a 5 minute chat. She grinned widely, as she jumped up and down excitedly.
“Yes, yes, yes! I have to call Haesoon now! But, wait? Who will I choose to go as the third person? I don’t have any other close friends...” she thought aloud to herself.
Suddenly, the banner began to float away. She snapped out of her thoughts, and took out her phone. She had to get a picture of it to show everyone! She began to run to catch up with the airplane. Just as she snapped the picture, she tripped on her laces and fell down onto the ground. She rolled twice, before she stopped. Her phone flew out of her hand, as she laid there groaning in pain. Something hurt in her left shin. There was a piercing feeling in her shin, and she was afraid to see what it was. Her eyes began to water, as the pain only grew stronger. She struggled to get up, but the pain was holding her back, because with every movement that she made, the thing that created the pain moved as well.
“Come on Jaekyu... Your dad didn’t raise you to be weak,” she muttered bitterly, as she used all of her force, and lifted herself to make sure she was seated.
She sniffed up her tears, but only more came out as she saw the small branch, that had went right through her shin. She hated blood--or hated to see blood. Her blood was everywhere, causing her to bawl even harder. Her crying wasn’t helping, because she crys so softly, that even dogs wouldn’t be able to hear her. Losing blood made her think of losing her life, and she did not want that to happen. One by one, her tears flowed. She couldn’t take seeing the blood anymore, and she knew that if she attempted to even try to take out the branch, she would only see more blood, and that terrified her. She leaned back onto the ground, as she continued to cry. Some of the tears dripped onto a daisy right beside her. It began to glow, a bright, shimmery whitish gold color that only the Gods could create.
And that was because the Gods could only create it.
