“I…I…” he stuttered, seemingly lost for words. His eyes were awkwardly wandering around the small café, his hands slightly shaking as he rested them on the table. All the other people around  us were busy eating and chatting, enjoying the warm ambiance and the good coffee, and yet here we were on a table right in the middle, as awkward as ever.

He was trying to look at me in the eyes, I knew he was, but just couldn’t. It didn’t seem like him; this wasn’t the Key I know.

“…I actually love you,” he finally ended with a sigh.

Key reached his arms across the table, and placed his hand on my cheek. He hesitantly yet carefully rose from his seat and leaned closer – accidentally pushing a cup off the table, making it break into pieces. The loud sharp noise had all the people around stare at us. Key’s eyes turned so big like they were going to pop out. I just sighed.

Again.

“CUT!” the director shouted. He looked quite annoyed already at how we kept on repeating this scene. “Aish–! For the nth time Key, I know you can do better than that!”

Some unni made her way to the set and swept the shards on the floor. Both Key and I slightly bowed at her and whispered our sorry’s.

“But that was the best I had,” Key reasoned out, pouting his way back to his seat.

I rolled my eyes and unconsciously covered my face with my hands. “Your words came out of your nose!” I shouted and banged my hands on the table, making the rest of the porcelain on the table shake. There were just times I couldn’t control my temper. Today was probably one of it.

Key looked at me with a hint of disgust. “Yep, that was definitely the best I had.”

“YOU—”

“Okay, enough of this you two,” director interrupted as he drew near us. He took an extra chair from the table set we were on and took a seat. “We’re way passed this already. I know you two are not in good terms…”

“That’s an understatement,” Key butted in.

Director Song and I just glared at Key.

“Sorry.”

The director sighed. “It’s hard working this way, you know,” he continued. Both Key and I just nodded our heads aggressively, agreeing with how awkward it was and not to mention annoying seeing each other almost every day just to shoot this drama series. “But we have to act professionally. You’re old enough to understand that.”

The annoyed expressions Key and I had on our faces mellowed down.

“So,” he said as soon as he stood up and smiled. “Let’s take that again,” he announced to the whole filming staff. The whole crew started to move – make-up artists started to crowd on us; extras on the set fixed themselves. Then once again Director Song leaned closer to us and whispered, “And we’re not stopping until you get this right. No breaks for you two. Got it?”

“Not even trips to the restroom?” I asked, feeling my need to pee.

Director Song just shook his head.

I sighed. Damn you, Key. Damn you.
