3 weeks later

Hana’s POV

I was supposed to eat my breakfast but just looking at the empty seats, I didn’t have the appetite.

I came in my room and locked the door.

Even though I’m the only one at home right now.

Even though I’m alone.

I go to my bed and covered myself with the covers. Crying was the only solution. I got the picture frame that had the picture of me and my family. Complete and Happy.

Maybe the world is just unfair. It doesn’t give you what you want most of the time. They might say that when something bad happens to you then something better comes along.

Well, in my case it’s just getting worse everyday. One day it’s bad and then the next worse.

I sniff and I hear my phone ring I looked at who was calling and saw his name.

Why is he not here, to make me smile and be happy again?

Why does he have to leave like the others?

Why do people just keep on leaving me alone in the dark, hanging?

Why do people just come and go so easily in your life?

There is nobody here, for me. Nobody is here to love me.

The tears just won’t stop. It just keeps on falling. And I had no control.

-few mintues later-

I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

Ugh. I fell asleep.

I heard footsteps coming toward my door.

WAIT.

FOOTSTEPS?!

Oh dear.

I guess I forgot to lock the front door.

“Stupid!” I quietly murmured and tip toed towards the door.

“Hanaa?? Appaa? Anybodyy?”

I froze.

Kevin? What’s that stupid jerk doing here?

I unlocked the door.

“Oh, Hana there you are. I was wondering where-“

“Why are you even here?” My voice trembled.

“What are you-“

I pushed him with the strength I got even though if it wasn’t enough to send him flying in the air.

"Why did you just show up now?! You never even sent us anything. Not even a simple text message or a call to show you’re alive!” I snapped.

"Wha-What?"

“Hana, please I don’t understand what you’re saying!” he yelled.

“He’s gone Kevin. Are you satisfied now?!”

My tears rushed down like any other day. But today was different. It felt more painful to cry.

“Hana…I’m so sorry. I-”

“You what?!”

“I-I knew about-“

“What?” I whispered in disbelief.

“YOU KNEW ABOUT IT?! YOU KNEW ABOUT IT AND YOU DIDN’T EVEN TELL ME?!” I yelled at him.

“Kevin how could you lie to me?” I whimpered.

“Hana… I-“

But I just pushed him away with all the strength I had left and ran.

“HANA!” I heard him call.

But the throbbing of my pulse and my tears told me to keep going.

I found the park that held too many memories of my past and just collapsed beside a tree. My face was drenched with tears and my feet hurt.

Just like my heart.

I felt it throbbing so much underneath my palm.

“How could you handle so much pain?” I silently whispered to myself.

I wiped my tears and thought of what would’ve happened if Kevin told me the truth.

Appa…

He…he would’ve survived.

Kevin’s POV

“AISH, you blockhead!” I muttered to myself while running towards the street.

I scanned the whole perimeter before taking a break.

If Hana wanted to go someplace where she can be alone…

The park.

I started running again and arrived after a few minutes.

I saw her feet peeping out from the side of the tree trunk.

“Oh…Hana!” I called.

She couldn’t hear me but I saw her feet flinch a little. I went closer and finally sat beside her.

“Aish, why’d you run so far?” I panted.

There was no response from her so I kept going.

“Y-yah, I’m sorry if I didn’t tell you the truth but Appa told me not to. It was for your sake.” I mumbled.

Still no response.

“Hana, can you at least talk to-“I touched her shoulder, but then recoiled.

“Hey, are you okay? You seem a bit … warm.” I stood up and moved towards her.

She’s unconscious. Oh great.

“Hana! Yah! Wake up!” I yelled. Her head just dangled side to side as I shook her furiously.

“Aishh seriously, I wish I never told you.” I complained and scooped her up from the ground.

Has she eaten? She seems so pale and…did she go thinner?!

“This girl…you will receive a lot of scolding from me when you wake up.”

I jogged back towards the house which thankfully wasn’t far.

Huh. Maybe that’s why she goes there all the time.

When I arrived, I settled her on her bed and ran down to grab some stuff.

I couldn’t help but wipe a tear that was running down my cheek.

I went back up to see that she was awake.

“Hana…” I said but she turned over so that her back was facing me.

“Just so you know…I am NEVER letting this go.” She said.

I froze and blinked a few times before absorbing what she said.

So I sighed and placed the things I got on her bedside table.

I looked at her for a few seconds before turning and shutting the door silently behind me.

“I know.”
