Chapter 7 Journey Part 2

They entered the Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavilion and were welcomed by the beautiful sight of the place.  The park features a walkway that passes under the Trellis of Waves, a corner where clinging vines hang. Along this trail are different varieties of flowers and ornamental plants such as the Song blooms (Song of Thailand, Song of Korea, Song of Jamaica, and Song of India) and the Palm species (Anahaw, Fishtail Palm, Blue Palm, Pinanga, Majestic Palm and the McArthur Palm.).

They walk and enjoyed the sight of the beautiful place filled of beautiful flowers and plants. Suddenly, Han Seul spotted a butterfly on the flower.

Han Yeul saw Changmin and Han Seul closer together so an idea pops out on her head.

“Yunho oppa, why don’t we go there?” Han Yeul said and pointed at the Reflection Point. It is a part of the place where one could meditate the surrounding exotic greens and refreshing waterfalls.

Yunho wasn’t able to agree or disagree since Han Yeul already drags her.

Han Seul was really observing the butterfly with a smile not knowing Changmin was behind her looking at her.

“That butterfly is beautiful.” Changmin suddenly said.

“You scared me.” Han Seul replied after hearing Changmin said and looking at him.

“You know ever since we’re in middle school, I was really curious why you like butterflies.” Changmin said.

“So you still remember about me liking butterflies? You may not understand me so I think there is no reason for me to share why I like butterflies.” Han Seul replied.

“No, I’m willing to listen to you.” Changmin replied back.

While Changmin was waiting for Han Seul for her reply, Han Yeul gets her phone on her bag and quietly takes a picture of them. She was grinning while trying not to get caught on what she’s doing.

“Do you like Changmin for your sister?” Yunho suddenly asked.

“You scared me.” Han Yeul replied and was thankful that the two didn’t hear or see her taking pictures of them.

“Oppa, I still don’t know. I’m still observing Changmin oppa or evaluating him if he’s the right one for unnie. If ever Changmin oppa hurt unnie, I’ll surely disapprove on him. Oppa, I already take many pictures. Let’s go there. ” Han Yeul replied while pointing the place where she wanted to go earlier before deciding to hide just to take pictures of the two. 

“At first, I just like seeing those butterflies because they are beautiful and they are colorful that seeing them flying is very pleasing to the eyes. I’ve learned while studying many languages or culture of many countries that many believe that butterflies are the human souls so I believe that every time I see butterflies, I believe it is Dad who is watching over me.” Han Seul replied.

“Ah really? I really also read about that. Wait, where is Yunho hyung and Han Yeul?” Changmin replied and was surprised when he looks back and realized that the two are missing.

“Maybe they already went ahead of us because I was focusing much on the butterfly. Come on. Why don’t we continue to stroll around the place? Maybe we can meet them on certain parts of this orchidarium.” Han Seul said while Changmin just nodded.

The two of them pass by the Reflection Point where Yunho and Han Yeul just finished going by.

Changmin is taking pictures of the place but sneakily take pictures of Han Seul and he was thankful Han Seul didn’t notice maybe because she was too focused on admiring the place. Then they passed by the Rocky Trail which has a facility for sport wall-climbing.

They continued walking and when they reached the Mystic Lagoon, there they spotted Yunho & Han Yeul fishing.

“Unnie, look I was able to caught 3 fishes but I also set them free after taking pictures of them.” Han Yeul excitedly said when she saw her sister with Changmin.

“Yah! Why did you go ahead of us?” Han Seul asked her sister.

“Because both of you are so slow especially you unnie who kept on staring to that butterfly.” Han Yeul replied back.

“Why don’t you join us?” Yunho asked.

“I’d rather watch the two of you especially my dongsaeng Han Yeul.” Han Seul replied while taking pictures of her sister having fun.

“Yah, unnie! Stop taking pictures of me!” Han Yeul said.

“Why? You are just so cute and adorable doing that!” Han Seul said while continuing taking pictures of her sister. Han Yeul first gives her bamboo pole to Changmin before standing up and ran after her unnie to get the camera.

“Ok, Ok. I’ll stop.” Han Seul said after getting tired of their chasing one another. They go back to the place where the DBSK members were.

“Why don’t we continue to stroll around the place and take pictures together?” Yunho suggested. The other 3 just nodded as they pass by the Reflexology Walk. It is a pathway of healing stones that is part of the Nokia Nurtured Zone. The 4 of them walk barefoot and enjoy the soothing properties of the reflexology walk.

After they finished strolling around the place, they go back to the place where they already passed by to take pictures together and sometimes doing couple pictures together. They exited the place and continued their trip to Luneta Park. And they proceeded to the Central Section of the park. This is where the Rizal Monument will be seen but the first one that everyone who visited the park will see is the Relief Map of the Philippines. The tourists and also to those Filipinos who visited the park will be able to have a quick glimpse of the 7,107 islands which compose the country by watching or looking at this Relief Map of The Philippines. It is a huge and colorful representation of the country.

They passed by the Relief Map of the Philippines after taking some pictures of it & taking pictures together when they spotted the train that tour those who ride on it around the park.

“Let’s ride to that!” Han Yeul pointed to the train as she comes closer to the train.

“Unnie, hand me the money.” Han Yeul said to her older sister.

“Did we already agree to it?” Han Seul asked her sister.

“We can tour the park if we ride on the train and we are sitting there not walking that is tiring and may become the reason of them to recognize by some of the fans.” Han Yeul reasoned out.

“Han Yeul is right. Walking has a bigger chance of us being recognized.” Yunho agreed.

“Ok. Here’s the money.” Han Seul said as she handed the money to her sister. When Han Yeul finished paying, they seated together on the train and waited for it to start the tour. When the train is finally loaded with passengers, it started touring around the park.

The first one they passed by is the Flower Clock. It is a working giant clock with its facets, designed as a flowering garden.

The second one they passed by is the Japanese Garden. It was developed to promote friendship and mutual understanding between the Japanese and Filipino people. It is a typical garden that you can find in Japan. It has a bridge over its own lagoon and plants.

The third one they passed by is the Chess Plaza. On this place, you can always see players here at any time of the day competing. Tables are set up with pre-designed chessboard and you can rent chess pieces and a timer if you want to play a game.

The fourth one they passed by is the dancing fountain at the Lagoon.

“Yunho oppa & Changmin oppa, those dancing fountains are much more beautiful during the night. Music started to blare out the speakers. Fireballs spew out from the tubes as the fountains started to spin and shoot out water from their spouts. Then the colorful lights lit up and on the other area,the spherical water fountains changes colors. Unfortunately, it’s only during the night.” Han Yeul explained and disappointed said.

“You know we can’t stay that long so maybe next time when you want to see it again.” Han Seul replied while Han Yeul just nodded.

They also passed by the Chinese Garden. It is an ornate Chinese-style gate, carved with swirling dragons, leads you into the whimsical which looks like it has been transported from old Peking. Along the lagoon constructed to simulate a small lake, are pagodas and gazebos that are set off by red pillars and green-tiled roofs and decorated with a profusion of mythical figures. It was built to promote friendship between China and the Philippines.

They also passed by the highlight of the park which is the Rizal Monument.

“Yunho oppa and Changmin oppa, this park is also called Rizal Park in honor of the Filipino’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Back then this area is called “Bagumbayan”, which means “new town”. On this park took place Rizal’s execution. He was a Filipino intellectual, who fought against Spanish colonization.” Han Yeul explained.

“You really do love Filipino history Han Yeul-ah!” Yunho exclaimed.

“Honor guard or honor guards are on duty 24 hours a day. And I remembered back then that Han Yeul-ah tried to distract or start a conversation with those guards but they ignored her. She cried but Mom told her that it was their job. It was their job to not do any movements and guard the monument unless they take their break.” Han Seul teasingly said.

“But I didn’t know it back then.” Han Yeul replied with a pout.

Then they also saw the Kilometer Zero. It is where the distance of the country’s towns and cities is measured from.

They took pictures on their tour around the park as the train they ride moves around the park. After that ride on the train, they get off the train and they decided to eat on a restaurant nearby when suddenly someone bump onto Han Seul causing her to fall. The woman who bumps into her apologized many times and helps Han Seul to stand up.

“Really sorry. I wasn’t looking. Are you okay?” The woman apologized and asked Han Seul.

“Yes, I’m okay. It’s not like you intentionally bumps into me.” Han Seul replied.

“Ok. Be careful on your way. And really very sorry.” The woman said before she goes on her way.

Han Seul walk but she suddenly felt pain on her ankle. She bent down as she holds her hurt ankle.

“Does it hurt unnie? Can you walk? Ok. Maybe we’ll just eat on the hotel. I’ll text the driver now so we can go home now.” Han Yeul said as she texted the driver.

“I’m okay. I can walk. It’s not like it’s too far.” Han Seul said as she stand up and walk but she was limping.

Suddenly, Changmin carried her in bridal style.

“Yah! Put me down! I can walk.” Han Seul said.

“Choose. I’ll carry you like this or carry you on my back.” Changmin said to Han Seul.

“None so better put me down.” Han Seul replied back.

“Why are you so stubborn? I’m just trying to help you.” Changmin replied.

“I don’t need your help because I can walk so I think there is no point to carry me.” Han Seul replied back.

“Yah! If you’ll not put me down now, I’ll surely hit you.” Han Seul continued and threatened him.

“Stop struggling. It’s getting hard to carry you. We’ll fall down if you continue struggling.” Changmin reasoned out.

“I don’t care. Put me down. Why are you sounding like I’m so heavy that you can’t carry me? Yah! I’m not heavy.” Han Seul shouted at him.

“Did I say you’re heavy? Even though you’re light but still with you struggling from my hold, I may lose my balance & we’ll fall.” He also shouted back.

“Ya! I don’t care so put me down now.” Han Seul shouted back.

“Why can’t you be just grateful or thankful that someone is helping you? Is it hard to accept help from someone?”  Changmin asked Han Seul.

“Yes, because I don’t see any reason for you to help me because I still can walk. Why are you so stubborn? Look. I’ll count from 1 to 3 then if you still didn’t put me down by 3, and then I’ll surely beat you up.” Han Seul said or dared him.

“Then I will also count from 1 to 3 then if you still didn’t stop from struggling by 3, I’ll surely make a way to stop you from struggling.” Changmin also dare Han Seul.

“Then how?” Han Seul asked as if daring him.

“By kissing you.” Changmin said as he moves his face closer to Han Seul. Han Seul, Yunho & Han Yeul were really surprised to what Changmin said. He didn’t mind it and just continued carrying Han Seul and go on his way to go back to the place where they’ll be fetched.

“Yunho oppa, don’t you find it funny? The one we just witnessed today?” Han Yeul asked.

“Yes, that scene also happens on Changmin’s birthday right?” Yunho answered.

“You know about it?” Han Yeul replied as they followed Changmin.

“Yes, Changmin told me about it.” Yunho replied.

“You know, I don’t know if you also feel the same way but they look cute together when they were bickering earlier. And I can say Changmin really likes unnie for him to get worried like that when unnie can walk properly because of her fall. I saw it earlier the look on his face. And even carried her just to help her and I find it sweet.” Han Yeul said.

“Are you now rooting for him for your unnie?” Yunho asked.

“That’s a secret.” Han Yeul replied back as she comes closer to her unnie and Changmin as they saw the driver who’ll bring them back to the hotel.

“Anong nangyari? Ok ka lang ba? (Translation: What happen? Are you okay?)” The driver asked.

“Ok lang po. May nakabangga lang po sa akin. Hirap po talaga pag naka-heels. (Translation: I’m okay. Someone just bumped into me. It’s really hard wearing heels.)” Han Seul replied back.

“Kaya mo bang maglakad? Gusto mo bang tulungan kita? (Translation: Can you walk? Do you need any help?)” The driver asked.

“Naku wag na po. Kaya ko naman po. Wag na po kayong mag-alala. (Translation: No, it’s okay. I can still walk. You don’t have to worry.)” Han Seul replied back.

“Ok. Pasok na kayo. Hatid ko na kayo sa hotel. (Translation: Ok. Why don’t you enter now to the car? I’ll drive you back to the hotel.)” The driver asked while Changmin help Han Seul to enter the car and afterwards, Han Yeul & Yunho followed. When they arrived on the hotel, they eat together and soon after, they all go back to their room. They all took a quick shower before sleeping. Han Yeul was really tired from the trip but Han Seul even though she’s also tired, she can’t sleep because of what happened earlier.

Han Seul’s POV:

Why did he do that? Why did what happen on his birthday just happen earlier? It’s a different situation but the way we bicker is the same. And why did I react that way? Why my heart can’t stop from beating fast earlier and can’t help but to blush? This is really giving me headache. Don’t tell me my feelings for him are going back? No, Han Seul. You’re just uncomfortable with what Changmin did so better stop thinking of those thoughts and just sleep.

End of Han Seul’s POV

Han Seul shakes those thoughts off and closes her eyes to sleep. Meanwhile, on Changmin’s room, Changmin was smiling widely so happy on what happen earlier because he was able to spend a day with Han Seul and he’s looking forward for more. He hugs the pillow tightly trying to hide his happiness because smile can leave on his face. He close his eyes to sleep feeling he would have a good night sleep.

And that’s how their 1^st day to Philippines ended.

Sorry that I just updated this story just today because I can’t update because I’m getting busy lately looking for a job because I’m still unemployed and I’m experiencing writer’s block. Not only that, I have 2 on-going fics aside from this so I hope you understand if ever I update late.

And also sorry if ever you’ll find this chapter not that good especially the last parts because I find it hard to end the Chapter but still hope you’ll like it :)

And again sorry for the long Chapter but since Luneta is really a big park, I only decided to choose some of the parts of the park where you can see by riding the train rather than all of the parts of the park that you can see as you walk around the park because it’ll be more longer and I decided just to pick the parts of the park that are popular and focus more on the characters interaction so I hope you understand.

The next chapter will be the continuation of their trip but this time to the famous Intramuros and the Fort Santiago so I’ll hope you’ll wait for my update :)
